No. The rail bolts to the stair treads themselves, not the surrounding floor or slab, so it works the same way whether the staircase is original to a 1984 Country Isles build or part of a newer Weston home. It can, through the Statewide Medicaid Managed Care Long-Term Care (SMMC LTC) program's Home Accessibility Adaptation benefit, which has no fixed dollar cap — coverage is set per approved plan of care. AHCA's public description names things like grab bars and a special toilet seat as examples and specifically excludes major changes like new carpeting or plumbing work, and it doesn't name stairlifts either way, so approval is case-by-case. Not through the HISA grant — VA regulations explicitly exclude "portable ramps, porch lifts, and stair glides" from Home Improvements and Structural Alterations funding, which otherwise caps at $6,800 for service-connected veterans and $2,000 for non-service-connected. Florida's FAAST New Horizon Loan Program offers low-interest loans, roughly $3,000 to $30,000, for home modifications including stairlifts. And Florida's Homestead plus Senior Additional Homestead Exemption can free up cash for the purchase by cutting your property tax bill up to $50,000 standard plus up to $50,000 more for qualifying seniors — it's tax relief, not a grant, but it changes what's available in the budget.
