Weston is the westernmost city in Broward County, with its entire western edge abutting the Everglades, and sits flat at 7 ft elevation across 24.6 sq mi of land, a drained development at the edge of the wetlands.

Weston didn't grow up piece by piece like most Broward County towns — it was master-planned from the start by Arvida/JMB Realty, the same developer behind Walt Disney World, with the first houses in Country Isles and Windmill Ranch going up in 1984. Gated, two-story single-family homes are the default here, not the exception, and with 72.7% homeownership most residents aren't renting month to month — they bought in and stayed. When a longtime Country Isles or Windmill Ranch homeowner starts struggling with the staircase up to the second floor, a stairlift is usually the fix that lets them keep the house instead of listing it.

Stairlift Service Across Broward County
In Weston Hills Country Club, the two-story Mediterranean homes have sweeping curved staircases in the foyer — we thread curved rails past wrought-iron balusters and decorative arches without touching the ornamental metalwork. In Savanna, the range from townhomes to estate homes means we carry three rail configurations to every first visit. The Ridges has straightforward two-story floor plans that install in three hours flat. The Palms at Weston is the city's only 55+ community — 382 homes, many with a full staircase to the second floor. In The Islands and The Meadows, the lakefront homes drive our specification to high-temperature synthetic lubricant on every install. We also cover Southwest Ranches, Pembroke Pines, Davie, Sunrise, Cooper City, and Plantation without a travel surcharge.

How stairlift projects tend to go for homeowners in Weston. Drag to scroll, or use the arrows and dots below.
No tengo palabras. Thank you, truly, from our whole family.
My father lives in Weston Hills and I live in Plantation. He was adamant that a stairlift would make his foyer look like a hospital. The All American crew threaded the curved rail past every wrought-iron spindle without touching a single one. When I walked in after the install I honestly didn't see it until he showed me. He's been using it every day since February and three of his golf foursome asked him for our installer's number.
We're in The Palms — the 55+ section of Weston — and I was worried the HOA would fight us on adding a stairlift. All American submitted the Fair Housing paperwork and the board approved it in six days. Six days. My husband slept in his own bed that same week for the first time since August. I don't know why I waited so long to call.
I had a spinal surgery at Cleveland Clinic Weston and needed the lift working before I was discharged. They measured on Wednesday, installed on Saturday, and I rode it upstairs the afternoon I came home. The tile stairs were no problem — they drilled right through into the concrete. My physical therapist said the lift probably saved me three weeks of sleeping on the couch.
Mi suegra tiene 84 años and lives with us in The Islands. She fell on the front porch steps in the rain and fractured her wrist. The outdoor lift is sealed against the humidity and she uses the front door again every day. The entire process — phone call, assessment, install, walkthrough — was in Spanish. That matters more than people realize.
Our home in The Meadows has tile stairs and I was told by another company that they couldn't mount a rail on tile. All American drilled right through the tile into the concrete underneath and the anchors are rock-solid — my husband tested the rail by pulling on it with both hands. Tighter than wood, they said. Installed in one afternoon and we've had zero issues in five months.

Everything Weston Homeowners Actually Ask
Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding, no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.
Does Weston's household income affect what a stairlift costs here?
Not directly. Weston's estimated median household income was $122,774 in 2021, but a stairlift is priced off the staircase, not the zip code. Most Weston homes are slab-built two-story houses with a straight run of stairs — the less expensive rail configuration industry-wide — so what actually moves the number is whether your stairs are straight or curved, not the neighborhood's income level.
Are older Country Isles or Windmill Ranch homes priced differently than newer Weston builds?
Sometimes, and it comes down to the staircase design more than the build year. The first phase of Indian Trace, including Country Isles and Windmill Ranch, went up starting in 1984 with fairly standard straight staircases. Some of the larger estate-style homes built later in Weston have staircases that split across a landing or curve, and those need a custom-bent rail, which runs higher than a straight install.
Is a straight or curved rail more common in Weston?
Straight, in most cases. Because Weston sits flat at about 7 feet of elevation with no hillside lots to build around, houses here tend to have simple two-story floor plans with a single straight staircase. Curved rails still come up in gated estate sections with grander entry staircases, but they're the exception rather than the rule compared to a lot of other Florida cities we serve.
Does living in a gated community like Windmill Ranch slow down installation day?
It adds a step, not a delay. Communities in the Indian Trace area, including Windmill Ranch and Country Isles, run guardhouse check-ins, so we confirm the resident's name and any gate code or visitor-list requirement before the install crew shows up. Once we're past the gate, installing on a slab-built straight staircase is typically a same-day job.
Will the install damage the floor or stairs in a slab-built Weston home?
No. The rail bolts to the stair treads themselves, not the surrounding floor or slab, so it works the same way whether the staircase is original to a 1984 Country Isles build or part of a newer Weston home. We walk the actual staircase with the homeowner before quoting so there are no surprises about landings, railings, or tile that need to be worked around.
Does Florida Medicaid cover a stairlift for a Weston resident?
It can, through the Statewide Medicaid Managed Care Long-Term Care (SMMC LTC) program's Home Accessibility Adaptation benefit, which has no fixed dollar cap — coverage is set per approved plan of care. AHCA's public description names things like grab bars and a special toilet seat as examples and specifically excludes major changes like new carpeting or plumbing work, and it doesn't name stairlifts either way, so approval is case-by-case. Call the SMMC LTC line at 1-800-963-5337 to ask your plan directly.
My spouse is a veteran living in Weston — will the VA pay for the lift?
Not through the HISA grant — VA regulations explicitly exclude "portable ramps, porch lifts, and stair glides" from Home Improvements and Structural Alterations funding, which otherwise caps at $6,800 for service-connected veterans and $2,000 for non-service-connected. A stairlift can instead be furnished through the VA Prosthetic and Sensory Aids Service on a doctor's medical-necessity order, a separate authority with no set dollar cap. Start at 1-800-827-1000.
Is there a Broward County or Florida-specific program that helps pay for a stairlift here?
A few are worth calling. The Area Agency on Aging of Broward County runs a Home Repair Program (954-745-9779) for carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs through contracted providers Home Touch Program and Rebuilding Together Broward — stairlifts aren't named on the public page, so it's worth asking directly. Florida's FAAST New Horizon Loan Program offers low-interest loans, roughly $3,000 to $30,000, for home modifications including stairlifts. And Florida's Homestead plus Senior Additional Homestead Exemption can free up cash for the purchase by cutting your property tax bill up to $50,000 standard plus up to $50,000 more for qualifying seniors — it's tax relief, not a grant, but it changes what's available in the budget.

Weston sits dead flat against the Everglades edge — no hill grading anywhere in this city — so nearly every home I walk into is slab-built with one straight run of stairs to the second floor, not the split-levels I deal with in older parts of Broward. Half my appointments start with a gate call to the guardhouse in Windmill Ranch or Country Isles before I even reach the driveway, so I always ask for the resident's name and the gate code situation when I book. This isn't a city where I'm fitting starter homes — it's two-story family houses where a parent moved in with the kids, or somebody who's owned the place since the '80s just isn't taking those stairs like they used to.
