Straight Stairlift — Tamarac, FL

Straight Stairlift

The standard for Tamarac's condo units and CBS villas — from Kings Point to the Mainlands.

Over 60% of the stairlifts we install in Tamarac are straight rails in two-story condos and villas. The rail bolts to your stair treads (never into the wall), the seat and footrest fold up out of the way, and the battery backup keeps you moving through the next hurricane-season outage. On the older CBS homes in the Mainlands, we anchor into concrete treads with stainless sleeve bolts — not wood screws. On the marble-tile treads common in Kings Point, we use diamond-core pilot holes to drill cleanly through the tile before setting stainless anchors into the substrate. Most Tamarac installs wrap in under 4 hours.

Stairlift Service Across Broward County

Broward County, FL

From the 14 gated sub-neighborhoods inside Kings Point — Ashmont, Belfort, Clairmont, Devon, Exeter, Fairfax, Granville, Lombardy, Malvern, Southampton, Trent, Weldon, Westlake, and Yardley — where the two-to-four-story condo buildings have elevator access to the lobby but stairs inside the units, and where each sub-association has its own HOA paperwork process, to the 18 sections of the Mainlands where the original 1967-to-1977 CBS villas sit on poured-concrete treads that require masonry anchors, our team has mapped every community in the city.

We know which Woodmont Country Club estates have the two-story foyer staircases with marble treads that need diamond-bit pilot holes, which Woodlands custom homes on the golf course have the wide, modern stairs that install in three hours flat, and which Westwood 55+ homes have the sunken living room that creates a lift need in a single-story floor plan. The bilingual Tamarac Senior Center at 7501 N. University Drive is a five-minute drive from most Kings Point addresses — we've left SMMC-LTC intake packets at the front desk because the staff there fields more stairlift questions than any single office in western Broward.

Kings Point Southampton — straight rail inside a second-floor condo unit with marble-tile treads

Kings Point (Southampton), FL Installed March 2026

A 1994 second-floor condo in Kings Point’s Southampton sub-neighborhood — the building has an elevator to the lobby, but the interior unit staircase from the first-floor living area to the second-floor bedrooms is 13 marble-tile treads with no lift and no alternative. Mrs. Rosen is 86, moved to Tamarac from Queens in 1998, and her daughter in Fort Lee, New Jersey called us after her mother admitted she’d been sleeping on the couch for a month. We drilled diamond-core pilot holes through the marble tile, set stainless sleeve anchors into the concrete substrate, and bolted a straight rail the full run. No tile cracking, no chipping. The Southampton HOA approved the Florida Fair Housing Act accommodation letter in five days. Mrs. Rosen’s daughter joined the walkthrough on FaceTime and watched her mother ride upstairs for the first time in 31 days.

Woodmont Country Club estate — curved rail through a sweeping foyer staircase with marble treads

Woodmont Country Club, FL Installed February 2026

A 1996 estate home inside Woodmont Country Club with a sweeping foyer staircase — 18 marble treads curving 120 degrees from the foyer to the upper hallway. Mr. Feldman had been using the guest suite downstairs since his hip replacement in November, but their master suite, Mrs. Feldman’s art studio, and the grandchildren’s bedrooms are all upstairs. Two other companies quoted two straight rails with a transfer at a mid-point platform. We laser-scanned the full arc, fabricated a single curved rail that follows the sweep of the existing staircase, and installed a swivel-exit seat at the top. One ride, no transfers, no mid-stair platform. The rail was powder-coated to match the existing wrought-iron balustrade.

Mainlands Section 4 — masonry anchors into original 1972 concrete treads under thin carpet

The Mainlands (Section 4), FL Installed January 2026

A 1972 CBS villa in Mainlands Section 4 with 12 treads from the living area to the second-floor bedrooms — poured concrete under thin commercial carpet, the original construction. Mr. Bernstein is 89, moved to Tamarac from Brooklyn in 1987, and his son in Boca called after the home health aide reported he’d stopped going upstairs entirely. The first company that visited brought standard wood screws and left when they realized there was no wood. We came back with a rotary hammer and stainless sleeve anchors rated for shear in concrete. Diamond-bit pilot holes through the carpet into the substrate, sleeve anchors set, rail bolted solid. Mr. Bernstein tested the ride three times during the walkthrough and asked to see how the footrest folds.

The Woodlands — weather-sealed outdoor rail on stone-paver front entry, hurricane-specced

The Woodlands, FL Installed December 2025

A custom estate home in the Woodlands backing up to the golf course with a raised front entry — six stone-paver steps from the circular driveway to the front door. Dr. Baptiste is a retired cardiologist who stopped using the front entry after a balance episode and had been entering through the garage, navigating a laundry room step-down he’d already stumbled on twice. We installed a weather-sealed outdoor straight rail anchored through the stone pavers into the concrete substrate with stainless wedge anchors. IP54 sealed motor housing, UV-stabilized upholstery rated for year-round South Florida sun, and marine-grade powder coat on the rail. Quick-release seat brackets so the motor pops off in 30 seconds before the next named storm. Dr. Baptiste uses his own front door again.

Kings Point Weldon — wide-seat straight rail for post-stroke recovery, 48-hour turnaround

Kings Point (Weldon), FL Installed November 2025

A call on a Monday: Mrs. DiNapoli, 82, was at Broward Health North recovering from a stroke, discharge scheduled for Wednesday, and her two-story villa in Kings Point’s Weldon sub-neighborhood had 14 carpeted steps and nothing in place. Her son flew down from Teaneck, New Jersey and met us at the unit Tuesday morning. She had limited right-side mobility, so we spec’d the model with the 22-inch padded seat, wider armrests, and powered swivel-exit so she doesn’t have to turn manually at the top. Measured Tuesday at 10 AM, installed by Tuesday at 4 PM. Mrs. DiNapoli rode upstairs Wednesday evening and slept in her own bedroom. Her son started the SMMC-LTC intake with Humana the following week.

Platform Lift

Mainlands Section 11 — indoor wheelchair platform lift with yellow safety edges, SMMC-LTC funded

The Mainlands (Section 11), FL Installed October 2025

A 1974 CBS villa in Mainlands Section 11 where Mr. Gonzalez uses a power wheelchair after a spinal cord injury and had been confined to the first floor for over a year. The four-step rise from the sunken living room to the main hallway was the barrier. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift at the interior hallway transition — a flat black anti-slip platform with yellow high-visibility safety edges on the platform perimeter, automatic fold-down ramp, and a keyed call station at each level. Stainless hardware into the concrete substrate. Approved through SMMC-LTC via Molina — zero out-of-pocket to the family. The entire consultation happened in Spanish. Mr. Gonzalez rolls from the living room to the kitchen, the bedrooms, and the back patio without a transfer.

Common Questions

Everything Tamarac Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in Tamarac right now?

Straight rails in a standard Tamarac condo or villa — the Kings Point two-stories, the Mainlands CBS homes, the Westwood units — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for sweeping foyer staircases in Woodmont and the larger Kings Point villas run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor weather-sealed models for raised entries and covered porches run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Why do some Tamarac homes cost more to install than others?

Equipment prices are the same across Broward County — we don’t inflate quotes for Woodmont addresses. What varies is install labor for unusual conditions: poured-concrete treads in the 1970s Mainlands homes require masonry anchors instead of wood screws. Marble tile in Kings Point units needs diamond-bit pilot holes. Some original Mainlands homes with 60-amp electrical panels need a dedicated circuit pulled before the plug-in — that adds about $300 to $500 for a licensed Broward County electrician. We tell you every line item upfront.

Is there a fee for HOA paperwork in Kings Point or the Mainlands?

No. Our quote includes the HOA reasonable-accommodation paperwork we prepare for you. Kings Point has 14 sub-associations — Ashmont through Yardley — and each has its own architectural review process. The Mainlands has 18 sections, each with its own HOA. We’ve filed with every one of them. Florida Statute 760.20-37 requires HOAs and condo boards to grant reasonable accommodations for residents with documented disabilities. We provide the Florida Fair Housing Act accommodation-request packet, the physician medical-necessity letter template, and attend the ARB meeting if the board requests it — all at no charge.

Do you charge for the initial home assessment?

No. The assessment takes about 45 minutes — we walk your stairs, check whether the treads are wood-frame, CBS concrete, marble, or tile, measure with a laser, answer every question, and leave you with a written quote. No credit card, no deposit, no obligation. The quote is honored for 30 days. If your adult child in another state wants to join on FaceTime or Zoom, we do that routinely — more than half our Tamarac consultations include a family member calling in from the Northeast.

A word from Luis

Tamarac was built as a retirement city in the 1960s and 1970s, and the housing stock reflects it — single-story villas, low-rise condos, and two-story CBS homes across Kings Point, the Mainlands, Woodmont, and the Woodlands. The people who moved in at 55 are now in their 80s and 90s, and the conversation I have most often is with an adult child calling from New York or New Jersey about a parent who hasn't been upstairs in months.

I drive to any Tamarac address within 24 hours, measure once, and hand you a written quote good for 30 days. I know which Kings Point sub-association to file the HOA letter with, which Mainlands sections have the concrete-under-carpet treads that need masonry anchors, and how to start the SMMC-LTC Medicaid paperwork before I leave your kitchen table. Hablamos español — la comunidad de Tamarac es mi gente.
