Separately, if the issue is cash flow rather than eligibility, the FAAST New Horizon Loan Program offers roughly $3,000 to $30,000 in low-interest financing for home modifications, and Florida's homestead exemption plus the senior additional homestead exemption (up to $50,000 each) can free up ongoing property-tax savings to help cover the difference.
