Expert Stairlift Installation in Davie, FL

Davie still reads like horse country in a lot of places — split-rail fencing, riding trails, quarter-acre-plus lots a few minutes from Nova Southeastern University. Most of those older Western-era homes were built single-story, so stairs never come up. It's the newer subdivisions and the two-story housing stock near the college corridor where a staircase becomes the thing keeping a parent or grandparent from staying in their own house, and that's where we get called for straight and curved stairlift installs.

Arrowhead two-story — straight rail on hardwood oak treads

Arrowhead, FL Installed March 2026

A 1990s two-story in Arrowhead with 13 hardwood oak treads and a formal foyer. Mrs. Delgado's daughter in Cooper City called after her mother couldn't get downstairs safely following a hip fracture. We installed a slim-profile straight rail mounted into the oak treads only — the chair and footrest fold flat against the wall when not in use. The battery backup has already carried her through two Florida Power & Light outages during summer storms.

Rolling Hills estate — curved rail with 90° turn at the upper landing

Rolling Hills, FL Installed February 2026

A 2001 Mediterranean-style home in Rolling Hills with a sweeping curved staircase, wrought-iron balustrade, and a 90-degree turn at the upper landing opening onto a gallery hallway. We laser-scanned the full staircase, fabricated a continuous curved rail that threads past the wrought-iron spindles without touching one, and added a powered swivel-exit seat at the top so Mr. Rosenfeld steps off facing the master bedroom hallway. The rail is powder-coated in antique bronze to match the ironwork.

Flamingo Groves ranch — straight rail on coral-stone cottage stairs

Flamingo Groves, FL Installed January 2026

A 1970s ranch-style home on a half-acre lot in Flamingo Groves — one of Davie's original equestrian neighborhoods with stone-accented cottage staircases connecting the main level to a raised Florida room. The seven coral-stone treads were getting dangerous after a bout of vertigo. We mounted the rail with masonry anchors rated for the porous coral stone, sealed the anchor points against Florida humidity, and ran the track along the inside wall to keep the original stone banister cap untouched.

Long Lake Ranches entry — outdoor lift on stone paver steps

Long Lake Ranches, FL Installed December 2025

A 2005 two-story in Long Lake Ranches with a raised front entry, eight stone paver steps, and full South Florida sun exposure. Mrs. Alvarez uses a rollator walker and could not safely manage the entry steps after a stroke. Every component is sealed against Broward County humidity, UV-coated for the subtropical sun, and the motor housing carries an IP55 rating for the afternoon thunderstorms that hit western Broward from May through October.

Shenandoah townhouse — straight rail on carpeted stairs

Shenandoah, FL Installed November 2025

A 1990s townhouse in the Shenandoah community off Nob Hill Road with a standard 13-tread carpeted staircase from the living room to the bedrooms. Mr. Thompson has COPD and could still walk the stairs but arrived at the top winded and dizzy, which his pulmonologist at Cleveland Clinic Weston flagged as a fall risk. We installed a straight rail through the existing carpet without removing it and programmed the soft-start motor so the acceleration doesn't trigger his vertigo.

Platform Lift

Forest Ridge home — indoor wheelchair platform lift with yellow safety edges

Forest Ridge, FL Installed October 2025

A 1998 two-story in Forest Ridge where the homeowner's mother moved in after a bilateral below-knee amputation left her in a full-time wheelchair. The family needed a platform that could carry the wheelchair and occupant between floors without a transfer. We installed an indoor inclined platform lift with a flat black anti-slip platform, yellow high-visibility safety edges on the perimeter, automatic fold-down ramps at both levels, and an interlocked gate system. She wheels onto the platform, presses one button, and rolls off on the upper floor.

Common Questions

Everything Davie Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding, no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

Does a curved staircase in a Davie home cost more to fit than a straight one?

Yes, and it's not really about the town — it's the staircase. A straight rail is a stock piece; a curved rail has to be custom-measured and bent to match your exact stairs, which is why curved installs run more than straight ones anywhere. Davie's mix matters here because a good share of the older equestrian-era ranch homes are single-story with no staircase at all, while the newer two-story construction near the university corridor tends to have straight runs — curved and split staircases show up more in some of the older multi-level builds closer to the coast.

Does Davie's flat, low-lying land change what a stairlift install costs?

It helps keep labor simple. Davie sits around 7 feet above sea level — one of the flattest, lowest stretches of the Fort Lauderdale metro — so we're not hauling equipment up a hillside driveway or working around drainage grading like we sometimes do in the western inland parts of the county. Less time spent on access means less labor cost, though the rail length and any curves in your particular staircase still drive the bulk of the price.

A word from Luis
The ranch-style places out toward the equestrian trails almost never need us — one level, no staircase to fight. Where we actually do the work is the two-story homes closer to the university and college campuses, plus the newer builds on the east side of town. Davie sits about 7 feet above sea level, one of the lowest, flattest spots in Broward County, so we're not dealing with grade or drainage getting the lift and rail into the house — that part of the job is easy here.
