Stairlift Service Across Los Angeles County

Los Angeles County, CA

From Valencia's master-planned tracts — tile-over-concrete stairs in two-stories built from the 1970s through the 2000s — to Newhall's pre-1960 housing stock with narrower stairs and original hardwood treads. We know which Saugus tracts have the L-shaped staircase with a 90° mid-landing turn. In Canyon Country, the 1960s ranches near Soledad Canyon have raised entries where five steps between garage and living level are the most dangerous spot in the house. Stevenson Ranch homes along I-5 have the identical 14-tread straight run that installs in under three hours. Every SCV install ships with 72-hour extended battery backup as standard — because PSPS shutoffs during fire season are not hypothetical here.

1996 Valencia two-story — straight rail on tile stairs, 72-hour battery backup

Valencia, CA Installed March 2026

A 1996 Valencia two-story with 14 tile treads and a homeowner who bought the house when her kids were in elementary school. They're in their 30s now. Mrs. Fitzgerald fell on the third step last December and her orthopedist wrote the medical necessity letter the same week. We drilled through the tile with a diamond-tipped masonry bit, anchored the brackets into the concrete substrate beneath, and had her riding by lunch. The beige seat blends with the light tile and the original hardwood handrail on the opposite wall remains untouched. The 72-hour battery backup was her top priority after the 2024 PSPS event left her without power for two days.

Saugus L-shaped staircase — curved rail parked at upper landing

Saugus, CA Installed February 2026

A 1993 Saugus tract home with an L-shaped staircase and a 90-degree turn at the upper landing. The Delgado family's father needed a solution that didn't require stopping and standing at the turn — his balance wouldn't allow it. We laser-scanned the full staircase during the first visit, fabricated a curved rail that navigates the 90-degree turn smoothly, and bolted the track into the existing treads. The brown-upholstered seat is parked at the upper landing where the rail curves around the half-wall, ready for the next ride down. He rides from the bedrooms to the family room in one smooth trip without ever standing at the turn.

1952 Newhall home — compact-profile rail on original hardwood treads

Newhall, CA Installed January 2026

A 1952 Newhall home near Main Street with original hardwood treads and a narrower stairwell than anything in Valencia or Saugus. Mrs. Langley has lived here for 37 years and treats the original woodwork as irreplaceable. The compact staircase sits beside a small sideboard and a potted plant at the bottom landing — classic traditional home character. We installed a compact-profile straight rail, matched the finish to the existing hardwood tone, and bolted into the treads without touching the banister. The fold-up footrest keeps the stairway passable for her visiting son's family. The warm tones of the seat blend with the aged hardwood treads.

Canyon Country raised entry — outdoor rail on concrete porch steps, fire-zone spec

Canyon Country, CA Installed December 2025

A 1968 ranch in Canyon Country near Soledad Canyon with a raised front entry and five concrete porch steps between the walkway and the front door. Mr. Orozco stayed through both the Sand Fire and the Tick Fire. When his knees gave out, he wanted a lift that would run during the next PSPS event. We mounted an outdoor straight rail on the stone paving with stainless anchors, sealed the motor housing to IP54 with ember-resistant seals, and fitted a cream UV-resistant seat that blends with the home's stucco exterior. The 72-hour extended battery and non-combustible mounting hardware are standard fire-zone spec. The lift ran through a three-day PSPS in 2025 without missing a ride.

Stevenson Ranch two-story — straight rail on carpeted stairs to upstairs bedrooms

Stevenson Ranch, CA Installed November 2025

A 1998 Stevenson Ranch home with a vaulted foyer and 14 carpeted treads leading from the main floor to the upper bedrooms. Mrs. Park's mother moved in after hip surgery and the family needed a lift that didn't change the look of the entryway. The warm brown carpet covers the treads from top to bottom, and the brown-upholstered seat blends right in — parked at the upper landing, you barely notice it against the carpeted stairs. We bolted through the carpet into the subfloor, specified the slim-profile rail, and positioned the chair to park flush against the wall. The 72-hour battery backup was standard SCV spec. The mother-in-law was riding upstairs by dinner.

Platform Lift

Canyon Country split-level — inclined wheelchair platform lift between floors

Canyon Country, CA Installed October 2025

A 1975 split-level in Canyon Country where Mrs. Rivera's mother uses a power wheelchair full-time and cannot transfer to a seated stairlift. The eight-step indoor stairway connects the main living level to the upper bedrooms. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift — a flat black anti-slip platform with yellow high-visibility safety edges on all sides and a white handrail mounted along the wall. The platform rides the rail between floors, carrying the wheelchair and rider without any transfer required. The 72-hour battery backup was the second priority after the Tick Fire evacuation in 2019 taught the family what a power-dependent home feels like. Three companies had told them a wheelchair user couldn't stay in a split-level. This lift proved them wrong.

Common Questions

Everything Santa Clarita Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in Santa Clarita right now?

Straight rails in standard SCV homes — the Valencia tile stairs, the Saugus tracts, the Stevenson Ranch two-stories — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for Saugus homes with L-shaped landings and Newhall split-levels run $9,000 to $15,000. Outdoor models for raised entries and Canyon Country garage transitions run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, 72-hour battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices different in Santa Clarita than the rest of LA County?

Equipment prices are the same across Los Angeles County. What makes SCV installs slightly different is the wildfire-spec: every install includes 72-hour extended battery backup because of PSPS events. That's our standard SCV spec, not an add-on. Line items are on the quote upfront.

Is a used or refurbished stairlift worth considering?

For straight staircases, a certified refurbished unit can save 30-40% — we carry factory-reconditioned straight rails with new upholstery, new batteries, and a 2-year warranty. Every refurbished unit ships with the same 72-hour battery and sealed motor housing. For curved rails, refurbished almost never works. Ask during the assessment.

Does California require a contractor license for stairlift installation?

Yes. Any paid residential work in California exceeding $1,000 requires a CSLB license under B&P Code § 7028 — a criminal offense to violate. As of January 1, 2025, Assembly Bill 2622 raised the threshold from $500 to $1,000, but stairlift installations far exceed that amount. Our CSLB license number appears on every written quote. Verify any contractor at www.cslb.ca.gov before signing. CSLB disciplinary history, bond status, and workers' comp status are all public.

A word from Luis

Most Santa Clarita families call me after the conversation they've been putting off — a parent who stopped going upstairs in the Valencia home they've owned for 25 years, a spouse who fell on the Saugus tract stairs and won't admit it to the kids, a Canyon Country homeowner who stayed through two wildfires but can't manage the stairs anymore.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that's honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells.
