Stairlift Service Across Pierce County

Pierce County, WI

River Falls stairlift installs span every part of the city. Sterling Ponds townhomes have straight oak staircases — fast, 3-hour jobs. The Main Street Historic District—Cascade and Maple streets—holds 1880s-to-1920s homes with curved staircases and narrow treads that require custom-bent rails. Oak Hill and Wildflower Meadows are newer construction with split-levels and ramblers where basement stairs often run steeper than modern code. Homes on the Kinnickinnic River bluffs frequently need outdoor lifts for stone entry steps that ice over. The Glen Park area near the high school mixes 1960s split-levels with carpeted stairs where straight rails bolt in cleanly. We also serve the UW-River Falls campus neighborhoods and surrounding Pierce County townships.

Straight

Straight Rail on Oak Treads in Sterling Ponds

Sterling Ponds, WI Installed February 2026

The Johnsons' Sterling Ponds home has a straight oak staircase off the foyer — steep, 14 steps. After Susan's hip surgery, she couldn't manage them. Luis bolted a beige straight rail to the treads in 3 hours, no drywall work. The lift parks at the bottom landing. Battery backup keeps it running through Pierce County winter outages.

Curved

Curved Rail Around a 90-Degree Upper Landing

Historic Maple Street, WI Installed April 2026

The Bergstroms live in a 1906 Italianate on Maple Street with a curved staircase wrapping 90 degrees at the upper landing beneath a chandelier. The turn is too tight for a straight rail. Luis spent an hour laser-measuring the curve, then the custom bent rail arrived two weeks later. The brown seat parks at the top, out of sight.

Straight

Straight Rail on Stone-Tread Basement Stairs

Oak Hill, WI Installed March 2026

The Petersons' Oak Hill rambler has stone-tread stairs to the finished basement where the laundry and guest room are. Narrow at 34 inches. Luis installed a straight rail that fits flush against the wall, the brown seat tucking beside a wooden sideboard at the bottom. All bolts went into the side stringer — no drilling into the stone.

Outdoor

Weather-Sealed Outdoor Lift on Bluff-Side Stone Entry

Kinnickinnic River Bluffs, WI Installed October 2025

Kurt Mueller lives in a bluff-side home above the Kinnickinnic where the front entry is a flight of rough stone steps from the driveway. Wisconsin winters turn those steps into a skating rink. Luis mounted a cream outdoor straight lift along the stone stair wall — IP55 weather-sealed, marine-grade components. Kurt uses it year-round, even in January when the steps are glazed over.

Straight Rail on Carpeted Split-Level Stairs

Glen Park, WI Installed January 2026

The Hagens' Glen Park split-level has carpeted stairs between the main floor and the bedroom level, 13 steps in beige cut-pile. Ruth's balance issues made the stairs a fall risk. Luis installed a straight rail in 3 hours, the brown seat matching the carpet tones almost exactly. Bolts went into the treads through the carpet — no damage, no subfloor exposure. The lift was running before lunch.

Platform Lift

Indoor Inclined Platform Lift for Wheelchair Access

Wildflower Meadows, WI Installed May 2026

Will Carter uses a wheelchair full-time and lives in a Wildflower Meadows twin home with an L-shaped interior staircase. Luis installed an inclined platform lift — flat black deck, yellow safety edges, rated for 600 lb. The platform folds up when not in use so the family can still use the stairs. Will rolls on, presses the toggle, and rides to the upper floor on his own.

Common Questions

Everything River Falls Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in River Falls?

Straight-rail lifts start at $2,800 installed. Curved rails — custom-bent to your staircase after a laser measurement — start at $9,000. Outdoor lifts begin at $4,000, weather-sealed for Wisconsin winters. Heavy-duty models supporting up to 600 lb start at $5,050. All prices include the free in-home assessment, installation, and a 5-year warranty plus lifetime rail coverage. Financing runs from $79/month.

Are there hidden fees beyond the quoted stairlift price in River Falls?

No. The quote Luis gives at the free in-home assessment is the final price — install labor, the rail, the seat, electrical connection, and a demo walk-through are all included. There's no upcharge for weekend installs or for homes outside the immediate city limits. We serve all of Pierce County and into St. Croix County at the same rate.

Does Medicare cover stairlift costs in River Falls?

Medicare Parts A and B do not cover stairlifts — they classify them as home modifications, not durable medical equipment. However, Wisconsin's Family Care and IRIS (Include, Respect, I Self-Direct) Medicaid waiver programs can cover stairlifts when documented as medically necessary to keep someone in their home. We help with that paperwork at the assessment.

Is financing available for a stairlift in River Falls?

Yes — monthly payments start at $79 through our financing partner, with terms up to 60 months and no prepayment penalty. Many River Falls families combine financing with a partial grant — like HISA for veterans — to bring the out-of-pocket cost down further. We walk you through the application at the free assessment.

A word from Luis

River Falls has two distinct housing stocks that I see every week. West of Main Street you've got 1880s Italianates and Queen Annes with walnut banisters, narrow treads, and tight landings — beautiful but punishing on knees. East toward Sterling Ponds and Oak Hill, it's 1990s and newer construction, split-levels and ramblers with basement stairs that get steeper than code allows today. Both types of homes need stairlifts eventually — the difference is just the rail geometry.

The Kinnickinnic River bluffs create another challenge a lot of people don't think about until winter hits. Outdoor staircases — front entry steps cut into the bluff, porch stairs leading down to the driveway — ice over fast here. I've installed outdoor lifts on stone steps where the homeowner was genuinely afraid to leave the house between November and March. The weather-sealed units start at $4,000 and hold up to Wisconsin winters the same way a good snowblower does — you just use it when you need it.

I live 15 minutes away in Ellsworth. When a River Falls customer calls at 8 a.m., I'm at their door by 8:30 with a tape measure. No waiting two weeks for a Twin Cities company to schedule you in.

— Luis Ramírez, River Falls
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

River Falls is a good place to grow older — the clinic is close, the neighbors check in, and the Kinnickinnic walking paths keep people moving in summer. The challenge is the stairs. Whether you're in a century-old Victorian on Maple Street or a newer build in Oak Hill, the stairs don't get easier with time. A stairlift in River Falls means staying in the home you know, near the river and the campus and the people who've watched your kids grow up.

Call Luis at the number above or fill out the form for a free assessment. He brings the tape measure, the funding paperwork, and 15 years of experience in Pierce County homes. No sales pitch — just a measurement, an honest price, and an install date if you want one.
