Stairlift Service Across Washington County

Washington County, MN

The South Hill and North Hill historic districts hold 1850s–1900 Victorians — steep, narrow staircases, often with a mid-flight turn and original oak treads that call for a curved, laser-measured rail. Croixwood and Oak Glen, developed in the 1970s and 80s, mix wooded lots and golf-course homes with wider, code-standard straight stairs. Liberty on the Lake is a newer lakeside development where straight-rail installs dominate. Closer to Lily Lake you'll find 1920s cottages with stone-tread entries and 1940s ramblers. We've fitted lifts across every one of these — the brackets bolt to the treads, so original newel posts and plaster stay untouched.

South Hill — straight rail on 150-year-old oak treads

South Hill, MN Installed February 2026

The Petersons' 1878 South Hill home had a straight flight of original oak treads leading up from the entry hall. We bolted a straight rail directly to the treads and set the beige seat at the bottom landing, leaving the warm hardwood and newel post untouched.

North Hill mansion — 90° curved rail at the upper landing

North Hill, MN Installed January 2026

The Harringtons' North Hill Victorian had a staircase that curved 90° around a half-wall to the upper landing, lit by a chandelier. We laser-mapped every tread and bent a custom rail that follows the turn; the brown seat now parks neatly at the top floor.

Lily Lake cottage — straight lift on stone treads

Lily Lake, MN Installed March 2026

The Olsons' compact 1940s cottage near Lily Lake had stone-tile treads and a narrow staircase running past a wooden sideboard. We mounted a slim straight rail to the treads and set the brown seat at the bottom, clearing the cabinet with room to spare.

Croixwood — outdoor lift on a stone-paved entry

Croixwood, MN Installed November 2025

The Nelsons' Croixwood home sat above a run of rough stone-paved entry steps that iced over each winter. We installed an IP55-sealed outdoor lift with a heated seat pan and weather cover, then sealed every penetration against the snow and St. Croix damp.

Common Questions

Everything Stillwater Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding, no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Stillwater, MN?

A straight stairlift starts at $2,800 installed. Curved lifts begin at $9,000 because the rail is custom-bent for your staircase. Outdoor lifts run from $4,000 and heavy-duty models from $5,050. Every quote includes the rail, seat, installation labor, delivery, and an in-home demo.

Why does a curved stairlift cost more for a Stillwater Victorian?

South Hill and North Hill staircases were built before 1900 with mid-flight turns, no two alike. A curved lift needs a rail bent to your exact treads after a laser measurement, so it starts at $9,000. Financing is available from $79/month with no prepayment penalty.

Are there any hidden fees in a Stillwater stairlift quote?

No. The price Luis gives you at the in-home assessment is the price you pay — rail, seat, labor, delivery, and demo are all included. The only optional cost is the $79/month financing plan if you choose to spread payments out.

Can I get a stairlift in Stillwater for under $3,000?

Yes. A straight stairlift starts at $2,800 installed, which covers most newer homes in Oak Glen, Croixwood, and Liberty on the Lake where the stairs are a standard straight run.

A word from Luis

Stillwater isn't like the suburbs we usually work in. The houses on South Hill and North Hill went up between the 1850s and 1900, and the staircases match — 28-inch treads, two turns in eight feet, original oak that's been settling since the lumber-baron days. You can't just drop a standard rail in there.

So I bring the laser rig out, map every tread and turn in three dimensions, and we bend a curved rail to fit that exact staircase. Out near Oak Glen and Liberty on the Lake the builds are newer and it's usually a clean straight run — three hours, tested, done. The older the house, the more it rewards someone who's measured a few hundred of them.

Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Stillwater is different from most places we install. The hillside Victorians on South Hill and North Hill have staircases that weren't built to any modern standard — 28-inch treads, two turns in eight feet, oak that's been settling for over a century. Those homes reward a measured, custom-bent rail rather than a one-size approach.

Whether it's a curved lift for a North Hill mansion or a straight run in a newer Oak Glen build, the assessment is free and there's no obligation. Call Luis at (800) 965-0350 and we'll map your staircase and give you one honest price.
