Stairlift Service Across Charlotte County

Charlotte County, FL

Deep Creek is where we do the highest volume — established 1970s-1990s CBS homes with terrazzo treads and straight runs to upper bedrooms. Murdock offers a mix of original ranch homes and newer West Port subdivision builds by Kolter Land Partners. Gulf Cove sits along the Myakka River canal system, where raised back porches and dock-access stairs drive outdoor install calls. Harbor Heights and Edgewater run east toward the Peace River, with post-Ian raised rebuilds creating new exterior entry stairs that didn't exist before the storm. Port Charlotte Village and Burnt Store Meadows round out our 55+ community coverage across Charlotte County.

Terrazzo treads in a Deep Creek two-story — beige seat at the bottom landing

Deep Creek, FL Installed March 2026

A 1992 two-story CBS home in Deep Creek with dark terrazzo treads and a turned-spindle banister along the right side. We mounted the beige seat on a straight rail bolted directly into the treads, parked the chair at the bottom landing where it folds flat against the wall. Mrs. Henriksen's husband passed two years ago and she refused to move — this was her house. The rail disappears against the dark wood tones and the original banister remains untouched.

90-degree curved rail in a Deep Creek split-entry — seat parked at the upper landing

Deep Creek, FL Installed January 2026

A 1987 split-entry model in Deep Creek with a 90-degree turn at the upper landing beside a half-wall overlooking the lower level. Mrs. Novak has advanced arthritis in both hips and needed the seat to deposit her at the upper hallway, not the top tread. We digitally scanned the staircase, fabricated a curved rail that threads the turn, and mounted the brown-upholstered seat with the swivel-exit so she steps off onto the landing floor. The chandelier above and framed family photos along the wall stayed right where they were.

Tile-tread stairs in a Murdock ranch — brown seat beside the entry console

Murdock, FL Installed December 2025

A 1983 CBS ranch in Murdock with tile-over-concrete treads and a wooden sideboard at the base of the stairs that Sr. Medina brought from Puerto Rico. We mounted the brown-upholstered seat on the compact-profile rail, positioned the lower park so the folded chair clears the sideboard by three inches, and drilled into the tile with masonry anchors rated for concrete-block construction. The tile is unmarked. His daughter drove up from Fort Myers the following month and said the rail looked like it had always been part of the house.

Outdoor

Outdoor rail on a post-Ian raised entry — stone paving, salt-air rated

Edgewater, FL Installed February 2026

A 1978 CBS ranch in Edgewater that was slab-on-grade for 44 years until Hurricane Ian flooded the living room with three feet of storm surge. The rebuild raised the entire structure to meet FEMA's new base flood elevation, creating five exterior stone-paved entry steps that never existed before. We installed the cream-colored outdoor seat on a marine-grade galvanized rail with stainless-steel fasteners, sealed the motor housing to IP55, and added a UV-coated weather hood over the joystick. Mr. Dalton walks from the driveway to his front door every morning without thinking about the stairs.

Carpeted stairs in a Harbor Heights home — brown seat at the landing

Harbor Heights, FL Installed November 2025

A 1990s Harbor Heights home with 13 carpeted treads and a tiled landing at the bottom. Mr. Kowalski had a knee replacement scheduled and wanted the lift running before he came home from Fawcett Memorial. We installed the brown-upholstered seat with the swivel-exit feature so the chair rotates 90 degrees at the upper landing, letting him step onto the hallway carpet instead of the top tread. The brown seat matches the carpet tones and the wall-mounted light switches beside the rail stayed accessible.

Platform Lift

Indoor wheelchair platform lift in a Gulf Cove canal home — yellow safety edges

Gulf Cove, FL Installed October 2025

Mr. Schaefer is a Vietnam veteran who uses a power wheelchair and needed access between the main floor and the upper bedrooms of his Gulf Cove canal-front home. We installed an inclined platform lift on the indoor stairway with a flat black anti-slip deck and yellow high-visibility safety edges on all sides. The platform folds against the wall when not in use so the stairs stay passable for his wife. The HISA grant through the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System covered the majority of the cost. He sleeps in his own bedroom again.

Common Questions

Everything Port Charlotte Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Port Charlotte right now?

Straight rails in standard Port Charlotte CBS homes — the Deep Creek ranches, the Murdock single-stories, the Gulf Cove canal homes — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for homes with landing turns or split-entry geometry run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase from a laser scan. Outdoor weather-sealed rails for raised front entries, lanai steps, and dock-access porches run $4,000 to $7,500 with marine-grade fasteners included. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes the rail, seat, battery, installation, and the first service visit.

Are post-Hurricane Ian raised-entry lifts more expensive?

The equipment cost is the same. What changes is the install configuration — a home that was slab-on-grade before Ian and now sits on a raised foundation typically needs an outdoor-rated straight rail for the new entry stairs. That means marine-grade fasteners and a sealed motor housing, which are included in every Charlotte County outdoor quote at no surcharge. The rail length is usually shorter than an indoor run because the new entry stairs are typically 4 to 7 steps.

Does the salt-air canal environment affect pricing?

No. Every Port Charlotte install ships with stainless-steel fasteners and sealed motor housings as our baseline Charlotte County spec — we don't charge extra for living on a canal in Gulf Cove or Harbor Heights. These are the default materials because the salt air affects the entire county, not just the waterfront.

Any hidden fees for 55+ community or HOA installs?

Our quote includes the HOA paperwork we handle for you. We've worked with Port Charlotte Village, Burnt Store Meadows, Harbour Heights associations, Deep Creek HOAs, and a dozen other Charlotte County communities. The reasonable-accommodation letters and Fair Housing Act documentation are already templated. If a board requires an architectural review hearing, we attend with you. No surcharge.

A word from Luis

Most Port Charlotte families call me after a close call on the front entry steps — a wet slab after an afternoon downpour, a parent who stopped walking out to the mailbox because the three concrete risers from the carport feel higher every month. Since Hurricane Ian, half my calls are from homes that never had exterior stairs before the rebuild raised the foundation to meet FEMA's new flood elevation. The stairs are brand new and the homeowner is already afraid of them.

I carry marine-grade hardware on every Charlotte County call because the salt air doesn't stop at the Myakka River. Deep Creek, Murdock, Gulf Cove, Edgewater — every install gets stainless-steel fasteners and a sealed motor housing whether you're on a canal or not. I measure once, leave a written quote honored for 30 days, and never call you back to upsell. That's how this works.

— Luis Ramírez, Port Charlotte
