Stairlift Service Across Prince George's County

Prince George's County, MD

From the split-foyers of Tantallon on the Potomac — where the 1964-era landing turns almost always require a custom curved rail — to the center-hall colonials of Fort Foote Village with their original oak treads, the Silesia ranches off Livingston Road, and the Oaklawn two-stories near Old Fort Road, we've measured Fort Washington staircases in every configuration. We've shimmed brackets on settled pre-1970 treads in Fort Washington Forest, anchored outdoor rails into the brick stoops common in Friendly Farms, and fit narrow staircases in the 1950s Palmer's Corner ranches. We also cover Oxon Hill, National Harbor, Accokeek, Clinton, and Temple Hills with no travel surcharge inside Prince George's County.

Common Questions

Everything Fort Washington Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Fort Washington right now?

Straight rails in standard Fort Washington homes — the Silesia ranches, the Palmer's Corner two-stories, the Oaklawn colonials — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for Tantallon on the Potomac split-foyers and the 90-degree landings common in Fort Foote colonials run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is fabricated for your exact staircase. Outdoor models sealed against mid-Atlantic freeze-thaw run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and covers the rail, seat, battery backup, installation, and first service visit.

Are prices different in Fort Washington than in Oxon Hill or DC?

Equipment costs are identical — we don't mark up for Prince George's County versus the District. What can vary is install labor for specific conditions: shimming brackets on settled pre-1970 staircases in Fort Washington Forest, pulling an electrical permit for a dedicated circuit in a 1950s Palmer's Corner ranch, or anchoring an outdoor rail into brick porch steps. Every cost is itemized on the written quote before you sign.

Are there hidden fees I should watch for in a Fort Washington stairlift quote?

Not in ours. A complete Fort Washington quote covers the rail, seat, battery backup, all mounting hardware, installation labor, safety testing, the controls walkthrough, and the first annual service visit. Shim kits for settled treads, dedicated-circuit permits, and outdoor weather sealing are itemized on the quote up front — never added after install day.

What's included in every Fort Washington stairlift quote?

Every written quote covers the complete rail, seat unit, battery backup, all mounting hardware, professional installation, safety testing, a full walkthrough of the remotes and key switch, and the first annual service visit. Outdoor weather sealing, shim kits for settled Tantallon treads, and any required dedicated electrical circuit are itemized before you sign.

A word from Luis

Most Fort Washington families call me after a scare on a split-foyer entry staircase — the 1970s Tantallon on the Potomac homes with the landing halfway up, the Fort Foote colonials with original oak treads that have shifted after fifty winters of freeze-thaw, or the Silesia ranches where a nor'easter knocked the power out and a parent couldn't safely get up the basement stairs in the dark. The Brooke Manor two-stories built between 1970 and 1999 tend to have wider treads and standard straight runs — those go in inside an afternoon.

My job is to drive to your house within 24 hours, measure with a laser, and give you a written price honored for 30 days. For veteran families, I work directly with the HISA coordinator at the Washington VA Medical Center — I fill out Form 10-0103 with you at the assessment visit so you leave knowing exactly what the grant covers.
