Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Fairfax County

Fairfax County, VA

Fort Hunt spans the 22308 ZIP code along the Potomac and George Washington Parkway, and we install across every neighborhood: Waynewood (1950s split-levels, half-landing turns), Hollin Hills (Goodman mid-century moderns with open-riser stairs), Stratford Landing and Stratford on the Potomac (brick colonials), Tauxemont (original 1940s cottages), Hollin Hall, Riverside Gardens, Wellington, Plymouth Haven, Herbert Springs, and Collingwood. The Potomac sits close but brackish, so we don't over-engineer with marine hardware — we engineer for Fairfax County freeze-thaw and the occasional mid-Atlantic nor'easter that closes the GW Parkway.

Common Questions

Everything Fort Hunt Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

How much does a straight stairlift cost in Fort Hunt or Waynewood?

A straight-rail install for a typical 13–15 foot run — Hollin Hall rambler or Tauxemont cottage — runs $2,800–$3,600 installed. Price includes the unit, rail, battery backup, labor, 5-year warranty, and lifetime rail coverage. No deposit, no surprise charges.

What pushes a curved rail over $9,000 in Waynewood or Hollin Hills?

Each curved rail is custom-bent to the stairs. In Fort Hunt, price drivers are Waynewood half-landing turns, Hollin Hills open-riser stairs that need custom bracketry, and Stratford on the Potomac split-levels. You see the exact number before you commit.

Are there hidden fees — Fairfax County permits, HOA, electrical?

No. Our quote is fixed. Fairfax County doesn't require a permit for residential stairlifts, and Virginia's Fair Housing law plus the federal FHA (42 USC 3604(f)(3)(A)) block most HOA denials for accessibility modifications. Only outside cost is a dedicated outlet at the landing — $175–$275 from a local Alexandria electrician.

What does financing actually look like — $79/month for how long?

Financing starts from $79/month with approved credit, fixed rate, no prepayment penalty. Many Fort Hunt veterans stack HISA ($6,800) plus the Virginia LHTC ($6,500 tax credit) so financing only covers a small balance — some end up paying under $30/month.

A word from Luis

Fort Hunt is my favorite part of Fairfax County to work because no two houses are the same. Waynewood has 1950s split-levels with half-landing turns that need a curved rail. Hollin Hills has Goodman-designed mid-century moderns with open-riser stairs where the engineering gets real. Stratford Landing, Tauxemont, and Hollin Hall are mostly brick colonials and ramblers with straight runs but original hardwood you can't touch.

We're on the Potomac, not the Atlantic — brackish water, 40+ miles from the ocean — so I don't push marine-grade hardware here. What I do engineer for is the freeze-thaw cycle and the occasional mid-Atlantic nor'easter that dumps two feet of snow on the GW Parkway. Every outdoor install gets an IP55 cover and a drainage-pitched rail. For Fort Hunt veterans using the Fort Belvoir VA Clinic at 9300 Dewitt Loop, I file HISA ($6,800) and layer it with the Virginia LHTC ($6,500) when the install qualifies.

— Luis Ramírez, Fort Hunt
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Fort Hunt is one of the oldest Fairfax County suburbs and one of the most architecturally distinct — from Waynewood splits to Hollin Hills modernists, from Tauxemont 1940s cottages to Stratford Landing brick colonials. A stairlift here has to respect the house: original oak treads, open risers, narrow cottage landings. No two installs are alike, and we don't treat them like they are.

Book a free in-home measure with Luis. We'll walk the stairs, check the breakers, verify your HISA grant or Virginia CCC Plus Waiver eligibility, and layer the $6,500 LHTC tax credit where it applies — all before you sign anything.
