Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Fairfax County

Fairfax County, VA

We install across every part of the Hybla Valley CDP and the corridor between Fort Hunt and Groveton. Hybla Valley Farms off Lockheed Boulevard is mostly 1940s and 1950s Cape Cods with original oak treads — straight rails go in cleanly, but the tread overhang varies house to house. Mason Hill sits inside the old Hollin Hills boundary with split-levels and modern open-stringer staircases that need tread-mount rails. Gum Springs, the historic community founded in 1833 along Route 1, has a mix of mid-century ranches and post-2000 infills. Audubon, Colchester Towns, and Creekside near the community center are mostly two-story townhomes with carpeted runs. We also serve Hybla Valley Park edges, Huntley Meadows approaches off Harrison Lane, and the apartment courts along South Kings Highway.

Common Questions

Everything Hybla Valley Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Hybla Valley, VA?

A straight rail in Hybla Valley starts at $2,800 installed for a standard 13-tread run. Curved rails for the split-level half-turns common in Mason Hill and Hollin Hills start at $9,000 because the rail is custom-bent to your stair geometry. Outdoor rails for porch steps run from $4,000.

Are there hidden fees for Fairfax County permits?

Fairfax County does not require a building permit for an interior stairlift, so there is no permit fee inside the home. Outdoor installs on porches sometimes need a quick electrical inspection if we add a new outlet — that runs $75 through the county.

Does Medicare cover a stairlift in Hybla Valley?

Original Medicare (Parts A and B) does not cover stairlifts because they are classified as home modifications, not durable medical equipment. Some Medicare Advantage plans sold in Northern Virginia (Anthem, Kaiser, Humana) include a Special Supplemental Benefits for the Chronically Ill allowance — check your specific plan.

Can I finance a stairlift if I am on a fixed income?

Yes. Financing starts at $79 per month for a straight-rail install over 60 months. We run a soft credit pull, no prepayment penalty, and the buyback program credits 30 percent if you remove the lift within 24 months.

A word from Luis

Hybla Valley is a measuring job before it is an install job. Half the homes off Richmond Highway went up between 1942 and 1955 — narrow oak treads, steep risers around 7.75 inches, and a tight half-turn at the top that you cannot see from the photos. I always pull a tape from the nose of the bottom tread to the top landing before I quote.

The Hollin Hills moderns built by Charles Goodman are a different problem entirely. Open stringers, no skirt board, often a glass wall on one side. We mount to the tread, not the wall, and we run the rail past the bullnose by 14 inches so the seat clears the lower landing. In Mason Hill split-levels, the short flight to the family room is what most homeowners actually need — a 9-foot straight rail, not a full curve. Veterans in Hybla Valley use the Fort Belvoir VA Clinic at 9300 Dewitt Loop, Fort Belvoir VA 22060 — I walk every qualifying family through the HISA paperwork at the install visit.

Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Hybla Valley sits 5 miles south of Old Town Alexandria and 13 from D.C., which means most of our service calls happen between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. — before the Beltway and Route 1 lock up. We install Monday through Saturday and stock parts at our Northern Virginia warehouse, so a same-week appointment is normal.

If your home is in the 22306 ZIP, we have likely measured a stair within 800 feet of yours. Send a photo of the run and a tape measurement of the bottom tread, and we will quote within 24 hours.
