Stairlift Service Across Plymouth County

Plymouth County, MA

From the 18th-century center-chimney Colonials and 1840s Greek Revivals lining the Bridgewater Town Common along Broad Street and Main Street, to the postwar ranches and Cape Cods on South Street and Summer Street near the Lakeville border, our crew has measured staircases throughout Bridgewater. The older homes near the Common and along Pleasant Street typically have steep enclosed stairways with narrow treads and original hardwood that require precise rail placement. Off Hayward Street and Hale Street near Bridgewater State University, mid-century ranches with finished basements make up the bulk of our calls. Along Auburn Street and Vernon Street on the east side toward East Bridgewater, split-levels and raised ranches feature wider treads that simplify every install.

1850s Colonial near the Town Common — slim-profile rail on steep narrow pine treads

Town Common, MA Installed March 2026

An 1850s Colonial on Broad Street near the Bridgewater Town Common with 13 steep original pine treads only 27 inches wide. Mrs. Patterson had been sleeping on the living room sofa for three weeks after a hip replacement at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton because the stairs were off-limits. We laser-measured the run, confirmed the slim-profile rail would leave 16 inches of clear passage, and installed the same week. The brown-upholstered seat folds flat against the wall at the bottom. Mrs. Patterson slept in her own bed that night.

Pleasant Street Colonial — curved rail through a 90-degree landing turn

Pleasant Street, MA Installed February 2026

A 1920s Colonial on Pleasant Street with a main staircase that turns 90 degrees at the upper landing past a window overlooking the backyard. The Walsh family has owned this home since the 1960s. We digitally scanned the entire run on the first visit, fabricated a single curved rail that carries Mrs. Walsh from the front hall to the upper hallway without stopping, and installed a swivel-exit seat at the top so she steps onto hardwood instead of balancing on the top tread. The family photos lining the stairwell look exactly as they did before the install.

South Street Cape Cod — straight rail on carpeted basement stairs

South Street, MA Installed January 2026

A 1955 Cape Cod on South Street near the Lakeville border with carpeted basement stairs and a standard 36-inch-wide staircase. Mr. Medeiros's workshop, laundry, and family room are all in the finished basement. The rail bolts through the carpet into the wooden treads beneath — no carpet removal, no damage to the pile. Folded, the seat and rail take up 11 inches, leaving 25 inches of clear passage. Luis walked the family through every control in Portuguese at the kitchen table — a common language on the South Shore.

Auburn Street raised ranch — outdoor lift on granite front steps

Auburn Street, MA Installed December 2025

A raised ranch on Auburn Street toward the East Bridgewater border with five granite front steps leading to the covered entry. Mrs. Callahan had not used her own front door in two months — her daughter had been driving her around to the garage side entrance. The cream-colored weather-resistant seat sits at the bottom step, ready when she comes home from errands. Every component is cold-rated for New England winters, sealed against freeze-thaw cycles, and coated with ice-resistant track protection. Road salt on Auburn Street is constant from November through March.

Summer Street split-level — straight rail on open-tread stairway, same-week install

Summer Street, MA Installed November 2025

A 1970s split-level on Summer Street with open oak treads and an open floor plan. Mr. Fernandes's daughter in Boston called on Wednesday, we measured Thursday morning, and the install crew arrived Friday afternoon. The rail mounts flush against the wall on the right side, leaving the left banister fully open. The swivel seat at the top lets Mr. Fernandes step off onto the hardwood landing facing the upstairs hallway. Luis conducted the entire walkthrough in Portuguese. Mr. Fernandes was riding it by Friday evening.

Platform Lift

Vernon Street home — inclined wheelchair platform lift with yellow safety edges

Vernon Street, MA Installed October 2025

A two-story home on Vernon Street where Mr. Novak uses a power wheelchair full-time after a spinal cord injury during his Army service. A seated stairlift was not an option — he needed to ride his chair between floors. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift along the indoor stairway: a flat black anti-slip platform with yellow high-visibility safety edges on all thresholds, white handrails, and a keyed lockout so visiting grandchildren cannot activate it unsupervised. The HISA grant covered $6,800 through the VA Brockton campus, and MassHealth covered the remaining balance through his care coordinator.

Common Questions

Everything Bridgewater Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Bridgewater, MA?

Straight rails in Bridgewater homes — the ranches along South Street, the Cape Cods near Summer Street, the split-levels off Auburn Street — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for the older Colonials and Greek Revivals near the Town Common with landing turns run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your staircase's exact geometry. Outdoor models for raised front entries run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are Bridgewater prices different from Brockton or Easton?

Equipment prices are identical across Massachusetts — we do not adjust quotes based on whether you are in Bridgewater, Brockton, East Bridgewater, or Easton. What varies slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: steep narrow treads in the pre-Civil War homes near the Common, tight basement access in mid-century ranches, and cold-weather sealing we spec as standard on every Plymouth County outdoor install. Those are baseline specs, not upcharges. Every line item is on the written quote.

Is a stairlift cheaper than moving to a single-story home?

Relocation costs in Plymouth County — real estate commission, closing costs, moving crew, new deposits — run $18,000 to $35,000 minimum at current South Shore housing prices. A straight stairlift installs in under four hours for $2,800 to $5,500 and lets you stay in the home you have lived in for decades, in the neighborhood you know, close to your doctors at Good Samaritan in Brockton or Signature Healthcare. For most Bridgewater families, the stairlift costs less than the real estate commission alone.

Do you offer financing for Bridgewater homeowners?

Yes. We offer 12-month interest-free financing and extended terms up to 60 months starting at $79 per month for a standard straight install. Approval takes minutes during the in-home visit. We also help you stack financing with VA HISA, MassHealth waiver, or MassAbility assistance so you pay the lowest possible out-of-pocket.

A word from Luis

Bridgewater families usually call after something has already gone wrong — a slip on the stairs in a Colonial on Pleasant Street, a father recovering from knee surgery at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton who hasn't been upstairs in two months, a daughter in Boston worried about her parents alone in a Cape Cod on South Street they've owned since the 1970s.

I drive out, measure your staircase with a laser, and hand you a written quote good for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells.
