Stairlift Service Across Hudson County

Hudson County, NJ

North Bayonne's pre-war colonials and two-families have steep, narrow staircases — most housing predates 1939 with original wood treads under decades of wear. Bergen Point at the peninsula's southern tip has Victorians with ornate newel posts and original banisters our rail must clear without touching. The Broadway corridor two-families have 29-inch stairwells requiring our compact-profile rail. Constable Hook's multi-families have exterior side-entry stairs needing weather-sealed outdoor units. Centerville and South Bayonne round out the peninsula with a mix of row houses and post-war builds we service daily.

North Bayonne colonial — straight rail on steep pre-war oak treads

North Bayonne, NJ Installed March 2026

A 1928 cedar-shingled colonial in North Bayonne with a steep 14-step straight run from the ground-floor foyer to the second-floor bedrooms. The staircase measured 30 inches wall-to-wall with original dark oak treads. We fitted a straight rail with a folding seat and footrest, bolted into the oak treads without touching the plaster walls or the painted banister. The seat parks at the bottom landing, flush against the wall. Mrs. Medina's mother rode it to the kitchen the same afternoon and made dinner for the first time in a month.

1895 Bergen Point Victorian — curved rail past the original newel post

Bergen Point, NJ Installed February 2026

A three-story Victorian near the Kill Van Kull in Bergen Point with an original turned walnut newel post and a 90-degree landing turn between the first and second floors. The curved rail threads past the newel post with three inches of clearance, bolted into the existing treads only. The swivel-exit seat at the upper landing lets Mrs. Callahan step off onto the hallway floor. Her daughter said the rail blends so well with the walnut stain that their Saturday card group didn't notice it for two visits.

Broadway corridor two-family — compact rail beside the hallway sideboard

Centerville, NJ Installed January 2026

An owner-occupied two-family off Broadway where Mr. Santos lives upstairs. The compact stairwell opens at the bottom near a wooden sideboard and potted plant in the traditional-style hallway. Stone-tile treads and a cozy cottage feel — tight by suburban standards but standard for Bayonne's pre-war two-families. We fitted the compact-profile rail with brown upholstery that matches the warm interior tones, added a folding footrest so the lift tucks completely flat when parked. Mr. Santos slept in his own bed that night for the first time in six weeks after his knee replacement.

Constable Hook front stoop — weather-sealed outdoor lift on stone-paved entry

Constable Hook, NJ Installed December 2025

A 1940s brick multi-family in Constable Hook with a raised front stoop — eight concrete steps from the sidewalk to the front door, rough stone paving at the base, fully exposed to rain, road salt, and the wind off Newark Bay. Mr. Wojcik is a Korean War-era veteran who qualified for a $2,000 HISA grant through the East Orange VA. We installed a cream-colored weather-sealed outdoor seat on a rail anchored into the existing stone entry with freeze-thaw-rated fasteners. The IP55-rated motor housing and UV-stabilized seat ran through two nor'easters without a service call.

South Bayonne carpeted stairs — swivel-exit seat for safer top-landing exit

South Bayonne, NJ Installed November 2025

A two-story home in South Bayonne with 13 carpeted treads and a brown-upholstered seat that matches the carpet tones. Mrs. Reyes had slipped twice at the top landing in the previous year. Carpeted stairs require longer mounting bolts that penetrate through the carpet and pad into the plywood substrate. The swivel-exit seat rotates 90 degrees at the upper landing so she steps onto the hallway tile floor instead of balancing on the top carpeted step. The brown upholstery blends with the warm carpet color at the landing.

Platform Lift

Bergen Point waterfront condo — inclined wheelchair platform between duplex levels

Bergen Point, NJ Installed October 2025

A converted waterfront duplex condo near the Bayonne Bridge approach where Mr. Rivera uses a wheelchair full-time. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift along the indoor stairway — a flat black anti-slip platform with yellow high-visibility safety edges and a white handrail. The platform folds up against the wall when not in use. The condo board approved the installation in seven days after we submitted the ADA reasonable-accommodation packet and NJ HIC registration. Mr. Rivera reaches both floors of his home independently for the first time since his injury.

Common Questions

Everything Bayonne Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in Bayonne right now?

Straight rails in standard Bayonne homes — the two-family colonials off Broadway, the pre-war rowhouses along the cross streets, the brick three-stories near Avenue C — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails, which you'll need for the L-shaped staircases in Bergen Point Victorians and the occasional three-story with a mid-landing turn, run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor models for front-stoop entries and side-door steps run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices different in Bayonne than other Hudson County cities?

Equipment prices are the same across New Jersey — we don't inflate quotes based on ZIP code. What varies slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: the compact-profile rail we specify for Bayonne's sub-30-inch stairwells that wouldn't be needed in a wider suburban home, and condo-board paperwork timelines in the waterfront buildings. We tell you the line items upfront. No surprise add-ons after the assessment.

I own a two-family and live upstairs. Do I pay more because it's a multi-family?

No. The install price is based on the staircase geometry — length, width, turns — not the number of units in your building. Owner-occupied two-families are the most common install we do in Bayonne. The rail serves your staircase. If you have a tenant on the ground floor, the folding seat and footrest stay out of their way on the lower landing.

Any hidden fees for condo or HOA buildings?

Our quote includes the condo-board paperwork we prepare for you — insurance certificate, NJ HIC registration, equipment specs, installation drawing. Most Bayonne boards approve within 5–10 business days. Under the NJ Law Against Discrimination (N.J.S.A. 10:5-1) and the federal Fair Housing Amendments Act, condo boards must permit reasonable accessibility accommodations for disabled residents. Zero charge for the paperwork assistance.

A word from Luis

Most Bayonne families call me after something specific — a slip on the narrow stairs of a two-family off Broadway, a father who stopped going upstairs after his hip gave out, a daughter in Staten Island who can see the peninsula from her window but can't be there every morning to help.

My job is simple: drive to your home within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that's honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
