Straight Stairlift — Stonecrest, GA

Straight Stairlift

The standard choice for Stonecrest's 1980s and 90s two-story subdivisions.

The majority of installations we run in southeast DeKalb County are straight-rail models on stairways with 12 to 16 treads — exactly what you find in Stonecrest, Lithonia, and Redan homes. The rail bolts to your treads, the seat folds flush against the rail when not in use, and battery backup keeps the lift running through Georgia's frequent summer outages. Most installs wrap in under four hours.

Starting at $2,750 installed

What's Included

  • Battery backup for power outages
  • Swivel seat with safety lock
  • Two wireless remote controls

Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across DeKalb County

DeKalb County, GA

Our southeast DeKalb coverage runs from the newer construction in Stonecrest proper east toward Lakeview Estates and the Rockdale County line, north through Redan’s denser residential subdivisions, and west toward Panthersville and Candler-McAfee. We know which Stonecrest subdivisions near Mall at Stonecrest have the standard straight-run stairways and which older sections near Lithonia have the split-level layouts that require a custom-fabricated curved rail.

For Conyers and Lakeview Estates just over the Rockdale County line, we extend service without a trip charge. We also serve Lithonia regularly and keep the Georgia Medicaid waiver paperwork templates current for DeKalb and Rockdale county caseworkers.

1990s oak treads — straight rail fitted without touching original banister

Stonecrest, GA Installed March 2026

A 1992 two-story in a Stonecrest subdivision near Lithonia Road — hardwood treads, the original oak banister, and a homeowner who had refinished that railing twice himself. We used the narrowest rail profile in our catalog, bolted directly into the tread surface, and left the banister completely untouched. Mr. Williams checked under every bolt with a flashlight. Spotless. His wife was upstairs and downstairs on her own that same evening.

Split-level 90° turn — custom curved rail on a 1988 DeKalb home

Stonecrest, GA Installed February 2026

A classic southeast DeKalb split-level with a 90° turn at the half-landing — exactly the configuration where a straight rail stops and a curved rail has to start. We laser-scanned the staircase during the first visit, fabricated the curved rail to Mrs. Jackson’s exact geometry, and installed on a Thursday morning. She lives alone and her daughter coordinated from Charlotte via video call during the assessment. The chair parks at the lower landing and swivels 90° so Mrs. Jackson exits onto the hallway floor.

Carpeted straight run — swivel seat for safer top-landing exit

Lithonia, GA Installed January 2026

A two-story Lithonia home with 15 carpeted treads and a couple where the husband used a walker after his knee replacement. The primary concern was the exit at the top — not the ride. We specified the swivel-exit seat, which rotates 90° at the upper landing so he steps onto the hallway floor instead of the top tread. That single detail eliminated the most dangerous transfer in his day.

Raised front entry — outdoor rail on concrete steps in Redan

Redan, GA Installed December 2025

A 1986 Redan home with a raised front entry and seven concrete steps that become slick after every Georgia summer rainstorm. Mrs. Carter’s husband had been using the garage side door to avoid the front steps, but the garage approach involved three uneven pavers and a threshold that caught his walker. We installed an outdoor straight rail on the front entry with a sealed IP55 motor housing against DeKalb County’s humidity, a UV-stabilized seat cover rated for Georgia’s direct sun exposure, and a marine-grade weather cover that stays on between rides. The battery pack is heat-tested above 100°F for the south-facing orientation. Mr. Carter walks out the front door of his home for the first time in two years.

Narrow stairway in a 1980s Redan townhouse — compact profile, tight clearance

Redan, GA Installed November 2025

A 1985 Redan townhouse with a staircase under 34 inches wide — the minimum clearance our slimmest rail requires. Every inch mattered. Ms. Brown’s primary concern was that her two grandchildren could still pass the lift on the stairs safely. We fitted the compact-profile model with a folding armrest and footrest, tested clearance with both children present, and confirmed 18 inches of clear passage with the seat in the upright position.

Platform Lift

Outdoor inclined platform lift — raised rear entry, Conyers home

Conyers, GA Installed October 2025

The Davis family’s father uses a power wheelchair after a stroke and the raised rear entry to their Conyers home had become impassable. The front approach involved three steps with no room for a ramp. We installed a compact inclined platform lift at the rear entrance with a fold-down deck, yellow high-visibility safety edges, and a keyed call station at the lower landing. VA HISA funding covered $6,800 of the install cost. The family has reported zero service issues through the Georgia summer heat.

Common Questions

Everything Stonecrest Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Stonecrest right now?

Straight rails — the most common configuration in Stonecrest’s 1980s-90s two-story homes — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for split-level layouts with a 90° half-landing turn run $9,000 to $15,000, because the rail is fabricated to your exact staircase geometry. Every quote is written, itemized, and honored for 30 days. No surprise charges after installation.

Do you charge extra because Stonecrest is southeast of Atlanta?

No. Our pricing is the same across the metro Atlanta area — Stonecrest, Lithonia, Conyers, and Redan all fall within our standard service zone with no travel surcharge. The quote you receive covers equipment, installation, and the first service call.

What financing options are available?

We work with three lending partners offering plans from $79/month. The application is a soft credit pull — no impact on your score — and approval is typically instant. Many Stonecrest families combine financing with Georgia Medicaid waiver funding or a VA HISA grant to reduce the monthly payment further. We walk through the math during the free consultation.

Can I get a written quote without committing to anything?

Yes. Every consultation ends with a written, itemized quote that’s valid for 30 days. We bring a measuring tape, a laser, and every equipment option — you leave with a real number, not a range. No deposit required. No obligation to move forward.

A word from Luis

"Southeast DeKalb has a specific housing pattern that we know well — the 1980s and 90s two-story subdivisions near Lithonia Road and the newer builds closer to Mall at Stonecrest. The older homes almost always have a 90-degree turn at the half-landing, which means a curved rail. The newer builds tend to be straight runs, but the tile treads require a different anchor approach than wood. What I see most often here is multi-generational households — an adult child coordinating the install for a parent who owns the home outright. We bring the whole family into the process: one walkthrough, one written quote, every funding option on the table before anyone decides anything."
