Stairlift Service Across Montgomery County

Montgomery County, MD

Woodside Park's 1930s–1960s colonials and Tudor revivals along Georgia Avenue produce the most stairlift calls in the area — standard two-story runs with original oak treads where the rail bolts to the stair and never touches the banister. East Silver Spring's tighter bungalows need compact-profile rails because every inch of the 30-inch staircase matters. Long Branch's postwar split-levels with mid-landing turns are our most common curved install — many assessments conducted in Spanish. Woodmoor, Franklin Knolls, North Hills, and Indian Spring are the quiet residential blocks north of Sligo Creek where standard construction, carpeted treads, and wide hallways make for the most straightforward installs in the county.

Woodside Park colonial — rail color-matched to original oak treads

Woodside Park, MD Installed March 2026

A 1938 brick colonial on Noyes Drive in Woodside Park with original oak treads and a turned banister the family had refinished in 2019. Mrs. Feldman's first question: 'Will you drill into my banister?' The answer was no. We color-matched the rail to the existing oak grain, bolted into the treads only, and parked the chair at the upper landing where it folds flat against the wall. Her daughter visited from Philadelphia two weeks later and walked past it three times before Mrs. Feldman pointed it out.

East Silver Spring Cape Cod — curved rail through low-ceiling staircase

East Silver Spring, MD Installed February 2026

A 1947 Cape Cod on Dale Drive with a 30-inch-wide staircase and a low ceiling at the top landing. Mrs. Nguyen's son called from California after she fell going up. We laser-scanned the tight stairwell geometry, fabricated a curved rail that navigates the low archway at the top, and added a folding footrest so the chair clears the ceiling header. The compact-profile rail preserves every inch of walkable width on the open side. Mrs. Nguyen rides from the ground floor to her bedroom hallway in one continuous pass.

Long Branch split-level — straight rail on carpeted treads, bilingual walkthrough

Long Branch, MD Installed January 2026

A 1958 split-level off University Boulevard in Long Branch with carpeted treads on the main staircase run. The entire family conversation happened in Spanish. Luis walked Sra. Hernández through every measurement, every button, and every line of the CFC paperwork in her preferred language. The straight rail bolts through the carpet pile into the wood subfloor beneath, seat folds flat at the top landing, and the Maryland CFC program covered the full cost — the state paid the provider directly.

Woodmoor rambler — outdoor rail on raised front porch entry

Woodmoor, MD Installed December 2025

A 1955 rambler in Woodmoor with a raised front entry and concrete steps from the walkway to the front door. Mr. Park had a knee replacement at Holy Cross Hospital and wanted the lift working before he came home from rehab. We measured on Monday, installed on Thursday. The outdoor rail is sealed against Maryland humidity, UV-coated for the mid-Atlantic sun, and has a weather cover that locks in place. The swivel-exit seat rotates at the top so he steps off onto the porch floor — not the top tread — which was his surgeon's requirement.

North Hills colonial — straight rail over carpeted treads for retired veteran

North Hills, MD Installed November 2025

A 1952 brick colonial in North Hills with carpeted treads and a wide hallway at the upper landing. Mr. Robinson is a retired Army NCO who spent 22 years at Fort Meade. The straight rail bolts through the carpet into the wood subfloor, the seat folds flat against the wall, and the battery backup kept the lift running through the February ice storm. The HISA grant through the VA Maryland Health Care System covered $6,800 of the cost. We prefilled VA Form 10-0103 and the grant was approved in four weeks.

Platform Lift

Downtown Silver Spring high-rise — indoor wheelchair platform for condo resident

Downtown Silver Spring, MD Installed October 2025

The Chens' father uses a power wheelchair and their Fenton Street high-rise condo has a split-level entry from the parking garage to the lobby elevator corridor — four steps that a wheelchair cannot navigate. The condo board required 72 hours' advance notice, hallway protection mats, and freight elevator access. We coordinated all of it, installed an inclined platform lift with high-visibility yellow safety edges and a fold-up deck, and had it inspected and operational by 4 PM. The reasonable-accommodation paperwork under the Maryland Condominium Act was filed at no charge.

Common Questions

Everything Silver Spring Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Silver Spring right now?

Straight rails in standard Silver Spring homes — the Woodside Park colonials, the East Silver Spring bungalows, the Woodmoor ramblers — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for Long Branch split-levels and multi-flight staircases in older two-stories run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor models for raised-entry homes and high-stoop porches run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices higher in Silver Spring than the rest of Montgomery County?

Equipment prices are the same countywide — a Woodside Park colonial gets the same quote as a Germantown split-level. What can vary slightly is install labor when a staircase is unusually narrow in 1920s East Silver Spring bungalows, when the home needs a dedicated electrical circuit pulled for pre-1960 wiring, or when a high-rise condo management office requires after-hours access. We itemize every line on the quote. No surprises.

Do you charge extra for Spanish-language service?

No. Every Silver Spring assessment can be conducted in Spanish at your request. Luis is bilingual and has walked dozens of Long Branch, Langley Park, and Takoma Park families through every line of the paperwork in their preferred language. Every printed quote, consent form, and operating manual is also available in Spanish. Zero surcharge.

Any hidden fees for condo or HOA installs in Silver Spring?

Our quote covers the full installation, including the paperwork we prepare for your condo board or HOA. We have worked with high-rise management offices along Georgia Avenue and Fenton Street, garden condo associations in Four Corners and Kemp Mill, and 55+ communities across inner Montgomery County. Maryland Condominium Act and Fair Housing Act reasonable-accommodation letters are templated. If a board requires its own engineer review or restricts hallway access to specific hours, we tell you before we start.

A word from Luis

Silver Spring's housing stock tells you everything you need to know about the work. The 1930s colonials in Woodside Park have original oak treads their owners have maintained for ninety years. The 1950s split-levels in Long Branch have mid-landing turns that every other company wants to solve with two separate lifts. The bungalows in East Silver Spring have 30-inch staircases and low ceiling headers that demand a compact profile rail.

I measure your stairs, give you a written price good for 30 days, and install the same week if you're ready. No pressure. No upsell. En español si lo prefiere.
