Stairlift Service Across King County

King County, WA

SeaTac's neighborhoods climb the Highline ridge between Puget Sound and the Green River Valley. Angle Lake has mid-century ranchers near the 102-acre lake — mostly straight eight-riser flights. McMicken Heights, along Military Road S, features 1950s slab-on-grade homes where 32-inch stair widths are common. Riverton Heights, west of International Boulevard, holds wood-framed homes from the early 1950s; original stair treads sometimes need reinforcement before rail mounting. Bow Lake in the southwest has split-levels where curved-rail installs come up more often. North SeaTac mixes 1970s two-stories with newer construction around the 205-acre park. Valley Ridge, near S 188th and I-5, has well-kept single-family homes — quick straight-rail installs for our crew.

Straight

Straight Rail on Oak Treads in Angle Lake

Angle Lake, WA Installed March 2026

The Morrisons' 1958 rancher near Angle Lake Park had a straight eight-riser staircase with solid oak treads. Luis mounted a 14-foot straight rail directly to the treads — no wall drilling, no drywall repair. The beige seat parks at the bottom landing by the front door. Mrs. Morrison uses it each morning to reach the upstairs bathroom without help.

Common Questions

Everything SeaTac Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in SeaTac?

Straight stairlifts in SeaTac start at $2,800 installed. Curved lifts, which are custom-bent to your exact stair geometry after a laser measurement, start at $9,000. Outdoor models for porch or deck access start at $4,000 — these include IP55 weather sealing for SeaTac's rainy climate. Heavy-duty lifts rated for 600 pounds start at $5,050. Every quote includes the in-home assessment, installation, and a 5-year warranty. Financing starts at $79 per month. Prices are the same whether you're in Angle Lake, Riverton Heights, or anywhere else in the city.

Does SeaTac require a permit for stairlift installation?

No. Stairlifts bolt to the stair treads — not the walls — so they fall under the same category as appliances. No building permit is needed in SeaTac or anywhere in King County. The rail mounts to the treads with five to seven bolts per section, and the drywall stays untouched. If you rent, we recommend informing your landlord, but the lift is removable and leaves no structural changes.

Are the assessment and installation included in the SeaTac price quote?

Yes. The price Luis quotes during the free in-home assessment is the final price — no add-ons, no surprise fees. He measures your stairs, checks the tread material, confirms the electrical outlet placement, and gives you a written quote on the spot. Most SeaTac installs happen within the same week as the assessment.

What financing options are available for SeaTac residents?

We offer 0% APR financing starting at $79 per month with approved credit. There's no prepayment penalty. For veterans using the HISA grant, we can coordinate so the grant covers up to $6,800 and financing covers the remainder — meaning some SeaTac veterans pay nothing out of pocket for a straight lift.

A word from Luis

I've installed lifts across SeaTac for 15 years. The ranch homes in Riverton Heights and McMicken Heights — most built in the '50s and '60s — almost always take a straight rail. Standard 14-footers, bolt to the treads, three hours start to finish. But the split-levels over by Angle Lake, the ones with the half-flight turn — those need a curved rail. We laser-measure on site and the rail comes back custom-bent from the factory.

One thing people don't expect: the rain. It rains about 150 days a year here, and if you're putting a lift on an exterior porch in Bow Lake, you need the outdoor model with the IP55 weather sealing. The marine air off Puget Sound will eat through unsealed components in two winters. Standard indoor lifts won't hold up out there.

Most SeaTac residents are about 15 minutes from the VA on Beacon Hill — the Seattle VA Medical Center on South Columbian Way. I walk veterans through the HISA grant paperwork during the assessment. Two forms. One prescription from their VA primary care doc. The grant covers the full $6,800 for service-connected veterans.

Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

SeaTac sits right where the name says — between Seattle and Tacoma — but the city has its own identity shaped by the airport that occupies three of its ten square miles. Most homes here date from the 1950s through the 1970s, ranch and split-level construction that makes stairlift installation fast and predictable. The Link light rail at Angle Lake Station connects residents to downtown Seattle in about 40 minutes, and the Highline SeaTac Botanical Garden on 24th Avenue South preserves a piece of the area's pre-airport history.

Whether you're in a Riverton Heights cottage with 32-inch stairs or a Bow Lake split-level with a 90-degree turn, we can assess your home and install within the same week. Call Luis for a free in-home assessment — he's done over 400 installs in SeaTac alone and knows every neighborhood from Angle Lake to Valley Ridge.
