Stairlift Service Across Montgomery County

Montgomery County, MD

Twinbrook generates the most stairlift calls in Rockville — 1950s split-levels between Veirs Mill Road and Rockville Pike with mid-landing 90° turns that require curved rails, plus ramblers with half-flight foyer steps perfect for straight-rail installs. We've installed in over 40 Twinbrook homes.

West End is the oldest settled part of the city — Federal and Cape Cod homes with narrow pre-code staircases where we default to the compact-profile rail and slim seat to preserve original woodwork and plaster walls.

Woodley Gardens features spacious brick colonials with wide, carpeted stairs — the most straightforward installs in Rockville. A standard straight rail handles almost every staircase here.

King Farm and Fallsgrove are post-2000 communities with modern construction and wide stairs. Installs are fast, but HOA boards often require advance notice, certificates of insurance, and architectural review — we handle that paperwork at no charge.

Woodley Gardens colonial — straight rail on dark oak stairs, seat parked at the bottom landing

Woodley Gardens, MD Installed March 2026

A 1964 brick colonial in Woodley Gardens with dark-stained oak open-tread stairs and a warm front hallway. Mrs. Kowalski's daughter called after a fall on the bottom step. We bolted a straight rail to the right side of the oak treads — no wall contact, no banister modification — and parked the beige seat at the bottom landing so it's the first thing you see when you step in from the foyer. Three hours from drill to demonstration. The original hardwood grain is fully visible between the brackets.

Twinbrook split-level — curved rail bends 90° around the upper half-wall landing

Twinbrook, MD Installed February 2026

A 1957 Twinbrook split-level where the staircase curves around a half-wall balustrade at the upper landing. Two other companies quoted two separate straight rails with a transfer at the landing. We laser-scanned the full run, fabricated a single curved rail that bends 90° around the half-wall, and parked the brown-upholstered seat at the top floor so Mrs. Okafor steps directly onto the hallway. The chandelier in the upstairs hall clears the seat by over a foot.

West End Cape Cod — compact rail beside a wooden sideboard in a narrow stairwell

West End, MD Installed January 2026

An early 1940s Cape Cod in Rockville's West End with stone-look tile treads and a 28-inch-wide staircase — built before modern clearance codes. A wooden sideboard with a potted plant sits at the bottom of the stairs, and the homeowners refused to move it. We spec'd the compact-profile rail and slim-fold seat that clears 25 inches when folded, leaving enough room to walk past. The brown-upholstered seat at the base blends with the traditional cottage feel of the hall.

East Rockville porch — weather-sealed outdoor lift on stone-paved entry steps

East Rockville, MD Installed December 2025

A 1948 bungalow in East Rockville with a raised front porch and rough natural stone paving at the entry. Sr. Hernandez qualified for a HISA grant through the VA Maryland Health Care System. We installed a cream-colored weather-resistant seat on the exterior porch steps, sealed against Maryland humidity and UV exposure, with a debris guard on the rail for the tulip poplar leaves. The stone-paved entry floor stays clear when the seat is parked at the top near the front door.

King Farm townhome — straight rail on carpeted stairs, seat tones match the carpet

King Farm, MD Installed November 2025

A 2003 King Farm townhome with wide carpeted stairs and a landing halfway up. The HOA required 14 days' advance notice, a certificate of insurance, and a reasonable-accommodation letter before any work could begin. We filed the paperwork on day one, received approval on day eleven, and installed on day fifteen. The brown-upholstered seat matches the carpet tones, and the chair folds flat at the landing so Mr. Chen's family walks past without brushing it.

Platform Lift

Fallsgrove home — indoor wheelchair platform lift with yellow safety edges

Fallsgrove, MD Installed October 2025

A 2005 Fallsgrove single-family home where Mr. Washington uses a wheelchair after back surgery at Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove and cannot transfer to a seated stairlift. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift on the indoor stairway — a flat black anti-slip platform with yellow high-visibility safety edges and a white handrail. The terracotta-painted walls of the stairway provided good contrast for the yellow edges. He rolls his chair onto the platform, locks the wheels, and rides to the upper floor without any transfer.

Common Questions

Everything Rockville Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in Rockville right now?

Straight rails in standard Rockville homes — the Woodley Gardens colonials, the Twinbrook ramblers, the King Farm townhomes — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails, which you'll need for most Twinbrook split-levels and any staircase with a mid-landing turn, run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor and humidity-sealed models for raised front porches and exterior steps run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices different in Rockville than the rest of Montgomery County?

Equipment prices are the same across Maryland — we don't inflate quotes for Woodley Gardens or West End addresses. What varies slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: historic-home preservation in the West End, condo and HOA paperwork windows in King Farm and Fallsgrove, and compensating rail mounts for settled treads in pre-1960 Twinbrook homes. We tell you the line items upfront. No surprise premiums.

Does the price include the MHIC-required documentation?

Yes. Every written quote includes our MHIC license number, the guaranty-fund disclosure required by the Maryland Home Improvement Commission, a detailed scope of work, start and completion dates, and every material and labor line item. This is not optional in Maryland — any installer who hands you a verbal quote or a one-page estimate without the MHIC disclosures is not compliant with state law.

Any hidden fees for condo or HOA installs in King Farm or Fallsgrove?

Our quote includes the HOA paperwork we handle for you. We've worked with King Farm's management office, Fallsgrove's community association, and several high-rise condo boards along Rockville Pike — the reasonable-accommodation letters and certificates of insurance are already templated. What can add cost (rarely) is when a board requires its own engineer's letter or asks us to submit to a formal ARB committee. If that happens, we tell you before we start.

A word from Luis

Most Rockville families call me after the situation has already become urgent — a fall on the narrow stairs in a Twinbrook split-level, a parent who hasn't used the second floor of a West End colonial since hip surgery at Shady Grove Medical Center, a daughter in New York worried about her father alone in the Woodley Gardens house he bought in 1968.

My job is straightforward: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and hand you a written price that holds for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
