Stairlift Service Across Montgomery County

Montgomery County, MD

We cover all of Travilah and the North Potomac–Potomac corridor. In Glen Knolls and Piney Glen Farms, 1970s–80s split-levels and colonials have oak treads and standard-width runs that take a straight rail cleanly. Travilah Meadows and the custom homes near Glen Road bring curved staircases wrapping half-walls and open foyers — laser-measured for a custom rail. Dufief Mill Estates and Stonebridge are newer carpeted colonials. Along Travilah Road and near Palatine, older ranches and farmhouses on large lots often need an outdoor lift for stone porch steps. We also serve North Potomac, Potomac, Rockville, Gaithersburg, and North Bethesda.

Straight

Glen Knolls — straight rail on original 1982 oak treads

Glen Knolls, MD Installed March 2026

This 1982 Glen Knolls colonial had the dark oak treads common to the subdivision and a clear bottom landing. We bolted a fourteen-foot straight rail to every third tread, with the DC motor at the base outlet. The beige seat sits at the bottom landing and matches the warm oak tones. Three hours, truck to test ride.

Travilah Meadows — 90° curved rail to the upper landing

Travilah Meadows, MD Installed February 2026

This custom Travilah Meadows home had a sweeping curved staircase with a 90-degree turn at the upper landing, under a brass chandelier. Laser measurement took about fifty minutes; the rail was factory-bent to the exact arc. The brown seat parks discreetly at the top floor, out of the walkway. Twenty-two-foot rail.

Piney Glen Farms — compact split-level, stone-tile treads

Piney Glen Farms, MD Installed January 2026

A compact Piney Glen Farms split-level with stone-tile treads and a wooden sideboard at the base. We tucked a twelve-foot straight rail against the wall; the brown seat folds to thirteen inches when unused. Folded, it cleared the doorway by four inches so the family could still carry laundry past it.

Outdoor

Palatine — IP55 outdoor rail on a stone porch entry

Palatine, MD Installed February 2026

This ranch near Palatine had a stone-paved front porch with four steps up from the walkway, and Maryland freeze-thaw had left the flagstone uneven. We fitted an IP55-rated outdoor straight rail with an all-weather corrosion-resistant finish and a cream weather cover. The rail sloped at 32 degrees to clear the porch overhang.

Dufief Mill Estates — carpeted treads, tile base landing

Dufief Mill Estates, MD Installed April 2026

This 1994 Dufief Mill colonial had plush beige carpet on the stairs and a tile floor at the base landing. The brown seat upholstery matched the carpet almost exactly. The carpeted treads let the rail brackets seat firmly without shims, which kept the install quiet — three hours including the demo ride and two remotes.

Platform Lift

Stonebridge — indoor wheelchair platform lift

Stonebridge, MD Installed March 2026

After a spinal injury, this Stonebridge homeowner needed full wheelchair access between floors. We installed an indoor inclined platform lift — a flat black deck with yellow safety edges and a white handrail, rated to 600 lb — running sixteen feet along the wall down to the lower-level family room. Reinforced bracketing anchors it at the landing.

Common Questions

Everything Travilah Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding, no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Travilah, MD?

Straight stairlifts start at $2,800 installed. Curved models begin at $9,000 because each rail is laser-measured and factory-bent to your staircase. Outdoor lifts start at $4,000, and heavy-duty models rated to 600 lb start at $5,050. Every price includes the in-home assessment, rail, seat, installation, and a demo ride. Financing is available from $79 a month with approved credit.

Is a curved stairlift more expensive than a straight one in Travilah Meadows?

Yes. Straight rails come pre-cut and install in about three hours. Curved rails — common in Travilah Meadows and custom homes off Glen Road — need a roughly one-hour on-site laser measurement, then the rail is factory-bent to your exact turns. Most curved installs here run $9,000–$12,000 depending on turn count and total rail length.

Are there hidden costs with a stairlift install in Montgomery County?

No. The quote covers the rail, seat, installation labor, two remotes, and the demo and safety briefing. Stairlifts are classified as appliances, not structural modifications, so no Montgomery County building permit is required. If your staircase needs a nearby outlet, we flag that during the free assessment, but most Travilah homes already have one within six feet.

What financing options are available for Travilah residents?

Financing starts at $79 a month with approved credit. Veterans may qualify for the VA HISA grant — up to $6,800 for service-connected and $2,000 for non-service-connected, one-time and tax-free. Maryland's Accessible Homes for Seniors program through DHCD provides grants up to $25,000, and Montgomery County's HARP offers no-cost modifications for income-qualified homeowners.

A word from Luis

Travilah is two kinds of staircase. In Travilah Meadows and the custom homes off Glen Road, you get sweeping curved stairs wrapping a half-wall or open foyer — beautiful, but they need a laser measurement and a rail bent to the exact arc. I do that measurement in about an hour, and the rail comes back matched turn-for-turn.

Over in Glen Knolls, Piney Glen Farms, and the Dufief Mill colonials, it's mostly straight oak treads with standard width. Those jobs are under three hours from the truck to your first test ride. I bolt to the treads, never the wall or the banister, so your stairs look untouched if the lift ever comes out.

Luis Ramírez, Travilah
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Travilah's estate lots mean long driveways and stairs that range from straight oak runs in Glen Knolls to wide curved staircases in Travilah Meadows. Our crew works out of the North Potomac area, so we're rarely more than fifteen minutes from any home in the 20854 zip — and we've put lifts into nearly every floor plan here.

Call (800) 965-0350 for a free in-home assessment. Reach us before 10 am and we can often measure the same day, walk you through the VA HISA grant or Maryland's Accessible Homes for Seniors program, and give you a final price on the spot — no obligation.
