Stairlift Service Across Montgomery County

Montgomery County, OH

Riverside stretches across both sides of the Mad River, with neighborhoods shaped by the city's 1995 merger with Mad River Township. Page Manor, built as military housing in the 1950s, still has the original oak-tread ranches — stairs here are typically 34 to 36 inches wide. Forest Ridge and Quail Hollow, with over 1,100 homes between them, date to the 1970s and feature two-story layouts where curved rails handle upper-landing turns. Spinning Hills offers compact 1950s cottages with narrow staircases that need the slimmest rail profile available. Near the base, Eastern Hills and the Old Harshman corridor have a mix of split-levels and traditional colonials, many with carpeted treads that simplify the bolt-through installation.

1958 Page Manor Ranch — 34-Inch Oak Stairs

Page Manor, OH Installed March 2026

Classic Page Manor ranch built in 1958 with original oak treads — 13 steps, 34 inches wide. The Henderson family needed a rail that wouldn't crowd the hallway at the bottom landing. Luis used the slim-profile straight rail, bolting brackets directly to the treads. The beige seat parks at the bottom, folded flat against the wall, leaving the upstairs hallway fully open. No drywall work, no repainting.

1978 Forest Ridge Colonial — Upper-Landing 90° Turn

Forest Ridge, OH Installed February 2026

A 1978 two-story colonial with a chandelier-lit upper landing and a tight 90-degree turn at the top of 15 carpeted steps. Luis laser-measured the turn radius on site — 88 degrees, not a perfect 90 — and the rail was CNC-bent to match. The brown seat parks at the upper landing, and the curved rail hugs the half-wall without blocking the hallway. Install took one full day with six rail sections joined on site.

1955 Spinning Hills Cottage — Stone-Tread Compact Stairs

Spinning Hills, OH Installed January 2026

A compact 1955 cottage with stone-tread stairs only 33 inches wide, running alongside a built-in wooden sideboard. The brown seat parks at the bottom near the sideboard — Luis positioned the rail so the folded seat clears the furniture by two inches. The stone treads required carbide drill bits for the bolt-through mounting, adding about 30 minutes to the standard straight-rail timeline. Seat upholstery matched to the warm interior tones.

Quail Hollow Porch Entry — Weather-Sealed Outdoor Rail

Quail Hollow, OH Installed October 2025

A Quail Hollow home with a stone-paved front porch and six exterior steps. The Thompson family needed year-round access — Ohio winters meant freeze-thaw cycles and salt residue on the treads. Luis installed the cream outdoor rail with marine-grade components, IP55-rated seat, and silicone-sealed rail joints. The rail sits on stainless-steel brackets, and the seat cover sheds rain and snow. Still running without a hiccup through the 2025–2026 winter.

1964 Old Harshman Split-Level — Carpeted Stairs

Old Harshman Area, OH Installed April 2026

A 1964 split-level off Old Harshman Road with wall-to-wall carpet on 14 stairs. The brown seat blends with the beige carpet, and the rail mounted cleanly through the carpet and plywood treads — no carpet patching needed afterward. The split-level layout meant the lift covers the main flight while the lower six steps to the family room remain walkable with a handrail. The Campbells had the install done on a Thursday morning; by lunchtime, Mrs. Campbell was using it independently.

Platform Lift

Valley Street Home — Indoor Wheelchair Platform

Valley Street Area, OH Installed June 2025

A Valley Street home with a teenage wheelchair user and no ground-floor bedroom. Luis recommended an inclined platform lift — flat black deck, yellow safety edges, white handrail, 600 lb capacity. The platform folds up to 14 inches from the wall when not in use so other family members can still walk the stairs. The Davis family used PASSPORT waiver funding to cover the cost. The install ran five hours including the mid-rail charging station wiring.

Common Questions

Everything Riverside Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Riverside, Ohio?

A straight stairlift in Riverside starts at $2,800 installed. Curved rails — common in Forest Ridge and Quail Hollow two-story homes — start at $9,000 because each rail is custom-bent to your stair turn after a laser measurement. Outdoor lifts start at $4,000, and heavy-duty models (up to 600 lb) at $5,050. All prices include the assessment, rail, carriage, installation, and a 5-year warranty with lifetime rail coverage. Financing runs $79 a month. No hidden charges — you get the final number at the free in-home assessment, not over the phone.

Why do curved stairlifts cost more than straight ones in Riverside?

Every curved rail is a one-off. Luis measures your stairs with a laser — the exact radius of the turn, the rise of each tread, the intermediate landing dimensions — and a fabricator bends the rail to match. Most Riverside homes built in the 1970s and 80s (Forest Ridge, Quail Hollow, sections of Eastern Hills) have a 90-degree turn at the upper landing or a mid-flight turn. The rail alone takes about two weeks to manufacture. Straight rails come pre-made in standard lengths and go in during one appointment.

Are there any discounts or seasonal offers for Riverside residents?

All American Stairlifts runs a standing $200 discount for veterans and active-duty military — relevant here given Riverside's proximity to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Seniors 65 and older also qualify for a $150 discount. These stack with any manufacturer rebate active at the time of purchase. The free in-home assessment carries no obligation, so you can get a firm price and then decide.

Does Medicare cover stairlift costs in Riverside?

Medicare Parts A and B do not cover stairlifts — they classify them as home modifications, not durable medical equipment. Some Medicare Advantage plans (Part C) offer a home-safety allowance that may contribute $500–$1,500, but coverage varies by plan and year. The main funding paths in Ohio are the PASSPORT Medicaid waiver ($15,000 per calendar year for home modifications) and the VA HISA grant ($6,800 for service-connected veterans). We walk every Riverside customer through their specific options at the assessment.

A word from Luis

Riverside's housing stock covers a lot of ground because the city absorbed all of Mad River Township in the '95 merger. In Page Manor, I mostly see 1950s ranches with oak-tread stairs — 36 inches wide, tight but workable for a straight rail. Over in Forest Ridge and Quail Hollow, the two-story homes from the 1970s and 80s often have a 90-degree turn at the landing, so they need a custom curved rail. The proximity to Wright-Patt means about one in every four calls I get is from a veteran or retiree who served there.

The Mad River runs right through town, and some of the older homes along Valley Street and Old Harshman have basement stairs that drop steeply — those are the installs where I tell families to budget an extra hour for the rail anchoring. On the flip side, the newer sections off Woodman Drive have wide, carpeted staircases that go in fast. I've put lifts in every corner of this city, and I can usually tell you what kind of rail you need just from the address and the decade the house was built.

— Luis Ramírez, Riverside
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Riverside sits at a crossroads — physically, where the Mad River cuts between old Mad River Township neighborhoods and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, and practically, where a family has to decide whether mom can keep using the upstairs. Luis has done installs in every part of this city, from a Page Manor ranch with 34-inch-wide stairs to a Quail Hollow colonial that needed a curved rail bent to an exact 88-degree turn. He knows which homes have oak treads and which have carpet, which basements drop steeply, and which HOAs need a heads-up before the install van pulls in.

If your stairs are becoming the daily worry, call for a no-pressure assessment. Luis comes out, measures, and tells you exactly what fits — usually in under 45 minutes. The Dayton VA is ten minutes away on West Third Street, and he has helped dozens of Wright-Patt veterans file HISA grant paperwork. Straight rail from $2,800, curved from $9,000, financing at $79 a month. One call, and the stairs stop being the hardest part of the day.
