A single straight run, the rail bolts to your stair treads (never into the wall), the seat and footrest fold up out of the way, and the battery backup keeps you moving through the next ice storm or tornado-season outage. Every Dayton install ships with freeze-thaw-rated galvanized brackets and sealed neoprene isolation washers as standard — not an upcharge.

Stairlift Service Across Montgomery County

Montgomery County, OH

From the 1890s Victorians in the Oregon District — 29-inch stairwells, original poplar banisters, Historic Preservation Commission oversight on exterior modifications — to the steep 1920s bungalows in St. Anne's Hill and South Park where narrow treads were built for younger residents, our team knows every common floor plan. The mid-century colonials in Grafton Hill and Five Oaks have formal front halls suited to discreet straight rails. Oakwood estates prioritize aesthetics — we match hardware finishes to original millwork. McPherson Town duplexes share common stairwells requiring slim-profile carriages. Belmont ranches often need outdoor stoop lifts for raised entries that ice over every winter. Kettering and Centerville split-levels almost always have a 90° landing turn requiring a curved rail. We also cover Beavercreek and Fairborn near Wright-Patterson so military families never wait on a tech driving from Cincinnati.

St. Anne's Hill bungalow — straight rail on steep 1920s hardwood treads

St. Anne's Hill, OH Installed March 2026

A 1922 bungalow in St. Anne's Hill with 14 steep original maple hardwood treads, no mid-landing, and a homeowner whose daughter had been driving from Beavercreek every morning to help him get downstairs. We specified the classic straight rail with a higher-torque motor for the steep incline, added the swivel-exit seat so Mr. Garcia steps off onto the hallway floor at the top, and fastened the rail with countersunk bolts directly into the maple. The warm oak tones of the staircase complement the beige seat parked at the bottom landing. His daughter's morning drive is now a weekend visit.

Kettering split-level — curved rail bending around a 90° upper landing

Kettering, OH Installed February 2026

A 1971 Kettering split-level with a curved rail that bends around the half-wall at the upper landing — the most common configuration we measure in the Dayton suburbs. Mr. Reynolds is a retired Wright-Patterson civilian engineer who insisted on seeing the fabrication drawings before signing. We laser-scanned the staircase, showed him the CAD file, and fabricated a single continuous curved track that carries the brown-upholstered seat from the lower foyer around the 90° turn to the upper hallway. The seat parks at the top floor next to the framed art on the wall, and he steps off directly onto the bedroom-level hallway. He inspected every bolt and said: 'Tight tolerances. Approved.'

South Park cottage — compact straight rail beside the sideboard on stone treads

South Park, OH Installed January 2026

A 1930s cottage in South Park with stone-topped treads, a wooden sideboard with a potted plant at the base of the stairs, and a stairwell too compact for anything but the slim-profile straight rail. Mrs. Novak's living room furniture sits inches from the bottom of the staircase — the folding seat and footrest tuck flush against the wall so the hallway stays clear. The brown-upholstered seat blends with the warm traditional decor of the cottage interior. A straightforward three-hour install with the rail bolted into the stone treads using masonry anchors rated for Ohio's freeze-thaw cycles.

Belmont raised porch — outdoor entry lift on stone-paved front steps

Belmont, OH Installed December 2025

A 1940s ranch in Belmont with a raised front porch and six exterior stone-paved steps that iced over every winter. Mrs. Thompson had fallen on the rough natural stone the previous February and her daughter made the call. We installed the outdoor porch entry lift with a cream weather-resistant seat, hot-dip galvanized hardware, and sealed motor housing. The stone paving at the base of the steps required masonry anchors rated for Ohio's 72+ annual freeze-thaw cycles. Mrs. Thompson rides from the stone-paved entry to her covered front porch without touching a step, even on the iciest mornings.

Five Oaks Foursquare — straight rail on carpeted stairs at the landing

Five Oaks, OH Installed November 2025

A 1910 American Foursquare in Five Oaks with carpeted stairs, a mid-floor landing, and wall-mounted light switches along the run. The brown-upholstered seat blends with the carpet tones so well that Mr. Patterson's grandchildren didn't notice it the first time they visited. The rail bolts through the carpet into the treads beneath — no carpet removal required — and the seat parks at the landing where the tiled entry floor begins. A clean three-hour install with the freeze-thaw-rated galvanized brackets standard on every Montgomery County job.

Platform Lift

Grafton Hill home — indoor wheelchair platform lift for a veteran who cannot transfer

Grafton Hill, OH Installed October 2025

A mid-century home in Grafton Hill where Mr. Washington — a Dayton VA patient with a spinal cord injury — uses a power wheelchair and cannot transfer to a seated stairlift. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift with a flat black anti-slip platform, yellow high-visibility safety edges, and white handrails along the indoor stairway. The platform rides the rail at a controlled incline while Mr. Washington stays in his wheelchair the entire trip. His HISA grant through the Dayton VA covered $6,800 of the cost. The orange-toned walls of the stairway frame the lift, and the window at the landing lets in natural light.

Common Questions

Everything Dayton Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in Dayton right now?

Straight rails in standard Dayton-area homes — the Oakwood colonials, the Kettering ranches, the Beavercreek two-stories near the base — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails, which you'll need for most Oregon District Victorians, St. Anne's Hill bungalows with landing turns, and 1970s Centerville split-levels with a 90° bend, run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor and cold-weather-sealed models for icy front steps and raised porches run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, freeze-thaw-rated hardware, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices different in Dayton than Columbus or Cincinnati?

Equipment prices are the same across Ohio — we don't inflate quotes for Oakwood or Oregon District addresses. What varies slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: narrow Victorian stairwells under 30 inches, Certificate of Appropriateness prep for Oregon District outdoor installs, and the galvanized freeze-thaw hardware that's standard on every Montgomery County install. We tell you the line items upfront.

Do Wright-Patterson retirees get any pricing advantage?

The equipment price is the same for everyone — we don't run a military discount because we don't inflate the civilian price to begin with. What Wright-Pat retirees do get is access to the VA HISA grant through the Dayton VA Medical Center, which can cover $2,000 to $6,800 of the total cost depending on service-connection status. We also know the TRICARE supplemental routes and the WPAFB Airman & Family Readiness Center referral path for active-duty families with dependent parents. The funding path is different for each — we walk you through yours at the first assessment.

Any hidden fees for HOA communities in Oakwood, Kettering, or Centerville?

Our quote includes the HOA paperwork we handle for you. We've worked with communities across Oakwood, Kettering, Centerville, and the 55+ developments in Beavercreek — the reasonable-accommodation letters are already templated. Under the federal Fair Housing Amendments Act, HOAs must permit accessibility modifications for disabled residents. What can add cost (rarely) is when a board requires its own engineer's letter. If that happens, we tell you before we start.

A word from Luis

I've measured staircases in every corner of Montgomery County — the 29-inch Victorian stairwells in the Oregon District where two other companies said it couldn't be done, the split-level landings in Kettering where every house has the same 90° turn, the icy Belmont front porches that send someone to the ER every February. What I've learned in 15 years is that the families who call me aren't shopping — they're solving a problem that got urgent last Tuesday.

If you're reading this because someone you love fell, or because your parent hasn't been upstairs in months, or because you're a Wright-Patterson family stationed 800 miles away trying to help from a phone screen — call me. I'll be at the house within 24 hours, I'll measure once, and I'll hand you a written price that's good for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
