Stairlift Service Across King County

King County, WA

From the 1970s ranches and bi-levels on Education Hill — where the most common call is about the steep basement stairs that haven't been renegotiated since the kids moved out — to the mature single-family homes on Grass Lawn with the walk-up attic conversions that were clever in 1985 and a liability in 2026, our crew has measured stairs across every Redmond neighborhood.

1974 Education Hill bi-level — straight rail on original oak treads

Education Hill, WA Installed March 2026

A 1974 bi-level on Education Hill with original dark oak treads leading from the entry to the upper bedrooms. Mrs. Nakamura's son works at Microsoft and had been driving over from Bellevue every weekend to help her carry laundry up and down the stairs after her hip replacement. We bolted the rail directly into the treads, mounted a folding seat that parks flush against the wall at the bottom landing, and ran a battery backup test through one of the spring power flickers that roll through the Eastside every March. Total install was three and a half hours.

Curved

Bear Creek custom home — curved rail past the upper landing turn

Bear Creek, WA Installed February 2026

A 1994 custom home in the Bear Creek area with a curved foyer staircase — the kind of open two-story entry popular in Eastside construction through the 1990s. Mrs. Patel's mother had moved in from Hyderabad the year before and the curved stairs were the only barrier to full independence on the upper floor. We digitally scanned the staircase, fabricated a curved rail that follows the 90-degree sweep at the upper landing, and installed a swivel-exit seat so she steps off onto the hallway carpet instead of the top tread.

1968 Grass Lawn rambler — straight rail in compact stairwell with original tile

Grass Lawn, WA Installed January 2026

A 1968 rambler in Grass Lawn with a narrow interior staircase down to a finished basement. The treads were original linoleum tile over fir — a common finish in late-sixties Eastside construction — and the stairwell was compact enough that a standard-width rail would have blocked the walkway. We specified the slim-profile rail, bolted through the tile into the fir substructure, and positioned the folding seat so it parks next to the wooden credenza at the bottom without obstructing the hallway.

North Redmond raised entry — outdoor lift on stone-paved front steps

North Redmond, WA Installed December 2025

A 1989 home in North Redmond with a raised front entry — five exterior stone-paved steps from the driveway to the front door, exposed to Puget Sound rain from October through May. We anchored the outdoor rail into the stone pavers with stainless expansion bolts, applied the marine-grade coating standard on every Washington outdoor install, and fitted a weather-sealed cream seat with UV-stabilized upholstery. The rail has run through two full Eastside winters without a service call.

Willows/Rose Hill townhome — straight rail on carpeted stairs after HOA approval

Willows/Rose Hill, WA Installed November 2025

A 2006 townhome in the Willows/Rose Hill neighborhood with carpeted stairs from the ground-floor garage entry to the main living level. Mrs. Kim's daughter was concerned about the HOA blocking the installation, so we filed a reasonable-accommodation letter under RCW 49.60 before scheduling. The board approved within nine days. We bolted the rail through the carpet and pad into the original fir treads underneath and installed the folding seat so the stairway stays clear for her husband walking alongside.

Platform Lift

Overlake split-entry — indoor wheelchair platform lift with safety edges

Overlake, WA Installed October 2025

A 1978 split-entry in the Overlake area where Mr. Chandra uses a power wheelchair after a stroke. A seated stairlift was not an option — he needed to ride from the entry level to the main living floor in his chair without transferring. We installed an indoor inclined platform lift with yellow safety edges on the platform perimeter, a non-slip ramp plate at each level, and interlocked gates that won't open until the platform is fully stopped and level. The lift runs on standard 120V power with a battery backup.

Common Questions

Everything Redmond Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Redmond right now?

Straight rails in standard Redmond homes run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for foyer staircases run $9,000 to $15,000. Outdoor models run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices different in Bear Creek than in Grass Lawn?

Equipment prices are identical across Redmond. Additional costs may apply for unusual conditions like curved foyers needing digital scanning, HOA accommodation filings, or new circuits in older homes.

Does the marine-grade rail coating cost extra for outdoor installs?

No. Marine-grade rail coating is standard on all outdoor installs in the Puget Sound region, not an add-on fee.

Is a used or refurbished stairlift worth considering in Redmond?

For straight staircases, a certified refurbished unit can save 30–40% — we carry factory-reconditioned straight rails with new upholstery, new batteries, and a 2-year warranty. For curved rails, refurbished is almost never an option because the rail is custom-manufactured to a specific staircase geometry.

A word from Luis

Most Redmond families call me after a quiet realization, not a dramatic fall — a parent who stopped going upstairs to the guest room when the grandkids visit, a retired Microsoft engineer who moved his home office to the dining table because the study is on the second floor, a daughter in San Francisco who noticed her mother gripping the railing with both hands on a FaceTime call from an Education Hill split-level.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that's honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells.
