Stairlift Service Across Comal County

Comal County, TX

New Braunfels stairlifts serve homeowners across Comal County’s distinct housing stock. Gruene ranch houses from the 1950s–60s have raised limestone porches and outdoor steps that need weather-sealed rails. Sophienburg Hill Victorians built before 1910 have original longleaf pine treads narrow enough to require slim-profile mounting. Mill Street limestone cottages—German-Texas vernacular from the 1880s—feature thick walls and tight stairwells where every inch matters. River Chase and Vintage Oaks subdivisions have wider, carpeted two-story layouts suited to standard or heavy-duty straight rails. Near Landa Park, split-level ranches from the 1970s often need wheelchair platform lifts for garage-to-living-area transitions.

Straight

Straight rail over original longleaf pine treads

Sophienburg Hill, TX Installed March 2026

A 1903 Victorian in the Sophienburg Hill Historic District with original longleaf pine treads and a hand-turned walnut banister that Mrs. Keller’s great-grandmother brought from Braunfels, Germany. We bolted the rail directly into the stair treads — never touched the wall, never touched the banister, never drilled into a single spindle. The slim-profile rail parks flush at the bottom landing so the front hallway still reads like a Hill Country museum piece.

Curved

Curved rail with 90° upper landing turn

River Chase, TX Installed February 2026

A 2004 two-story in River Chase off River Road with an open-riser staircase and a 90-degree turn at the upper landing. Mr. Hoffmann had both knees replaced at Christus Santa Rosa in San Antonio and needed one continuous ride from the foyer to the bedroom hallway. We laser-scanned the full run, fabricated a curved rail that carries him through the turn without stopping, and installed a swivel-exit seat at the top so he steps off onto the hallway carpet instead of the top tread.

Straight

Compact straight rail beside a wooden sideboard in a Gruene cottage

Gruene, TX Installed December 2025

A 1960s Hill Country cottage on the edge of the Gruene Historic District with stone-tiled treads and a narrow entry hall. The staircase sits right next to a wooden sideboard that Mrs. Fischer’s mother picked out forty years ago — moving it was not an option. We mounted a straight rail tight to the wall side, keeping four inches of clearance past the sideboard with the seat folded. The brown upholstery blends with the warm cottage tones and the potted fern on the cabinet stays exactly where it’s always been.

Outdoor

Outdoor lift over limestone porch steps in Gruene

Gruene, TX Installed November 2025

A raised limestone front porch on the same Gruene property — eight exterior steps cut from local Balcones limestone that have been baking in Texas sun for 60 years. Mr. Fischer is a retired Army sergeant who served at Fort Sam Houston and qualified for a $6,800 HISA grant through the New Braunfels VA Clinic on Generations Drive. The cream-colored outdoor seat sits at the stone-paved entry, weather-sealed against Hill Country heat, UV, and the occasional downpour. We prefilled VA Form 10-0103, the prescription came back from South Texas VA Health Care in three weeks, and installation was authorized the week after.

Straight

Straight rail on carpeted stairs in a Vintage Oaks two-story

Vintage Oaks, TX Installed October 2025

A 2016 two-story in the Vintage Oaks community with wide carpeted stairs and a landing halfway up. The brown-upholstered seat blends right into the carpet tones — Mr. Garza’s wife picked the color match on the first visit. The rail bolts through the carpet into the treads underneath, so the carpet didn’t need to be pulled up or re-stretched. Mr. Garza had just returned from hip replacement surgery at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio and was riding upstairs that same afternoon.

Platform Lift

Indoor wheelchair platform lift with yellow safety edges

Landa Park area, TX Installed October 2025

A 1975 ranch house three blocks from Landa Park where the split-level layout puts the main living area five steps above the garage entry. Mr. Treviño uses a power wheelchair after a spinal cord injury at Fort Hood in 1988 and qualified for both the HISA grant and the Texas 100% Disabled Veteran property tax exemption through the Comal County Appraisal District. The indoor platform lift has a flat black anti-slip surface, bright yellow safety edges on the platform perimeter, automatic ramp deployment at both levels, and a keyed lockout so the grandchildren can’t operate it unsupervised.

Common Questions

Everything New Braunfels Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in New Braunfels right now?

Straight rails in standard New Braunfels homes run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for split-level ranches run $9,000 to $15,000 due to custom fabrication. Outdoor lifts for limestone porch steps run $4,000 to $7,500. All quotes include installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and first service visit.

Do you charge more for homes outside the city limits or in Gruene?

No. Equipment prices are identical whether the home is in downtown New Braunfels, Gruene Historic District, River Chase, Vintage Oaks, or ranches off FM 306. Labor can vary slightly for unusual conditions like pre-1900 limestone cottages or homes with Balcones Escarpment foundation settlement.

Is there a travel fee from San Antonio?

Zero. New Braunfels falls within standard coverage. No travel fee, fuel surcharge, or mileage add-on applies. The price on the written quote is the price you pay.

Is there a charge for the in-home assessment?

No. The assessment is free, takes about 45 minutes, and includes laser measurement, outlet verification, and photographic documentation. For curved rails, digital scanning happens during this visit. No obligation, no deposit, no credit card.

A word from Luis

Most New Braunfels families call me after someone slips on a limestone front step in Gruene or stops going upstairs in one of those 1950s Hill Country ranch houses along the Guadalupe. The staircase hasn’t changed in 70 years — but the knees have.

My job is simple: drive out from San Antonio within 24 hours, measure once, and hand you a written price that’s good for 30 days. No pressure, no upsells, no out-of-town surcharges. En español si lo prefiere.
