Stairlift Service Across Hidalgo County

Hidalgo County, TX

From Sharyland Plantation — the master-planned community east of Inspiration Road where 2000s-era two-story ranches line wide streets — to Shary Heights, the mid-century historic neighborhood recently added to the National Register with 1950s and 1960s homes whose upper-landing staircase turns require curved rails, our team has mapped every block in Mission. We know which north-central Mission cottages have the irregular flagstone treads that need custom-shimmed brackets, which south Mission homes have the raised concrete-and-saltillo front entries that call for an outdoor lift, and which Winter Texan parks along Business 83 have the manufactured-home subfloors that anchor differently from site-built wood framing.

Straight

Sharyland Plantation ranch — straight rail on original oak treads

Sharyland Plantation, TX Installed March 2026

A 2004 two-story ranch in Sharyland Plantation with original red oak treads and a wrought-iron banister. Mrs. Garza's mother moved in after a hip replacement at Mission Regional Medical Center and the family needed the lift working before she came home. We measured on Monday, installed Thursday, and she slept in her own bedroom that night for the first time since November. The folding seat tucks flat against the wall and her husband walks the stairs daily without noticing it.

1958 Shary Heights two-story — curved rail with upper-landing turn

Shary Heights, TX Installed February 2026

A 1958 two-story in the Shary Heights historic neighborhood. The staircase curves 90 degrees at the upper landing before opening into a narrow hallway. Two other companies told the Treviños they'd need two separate lifts. We laser-scanned the entire run during the first visit, fabricated a single curved rail that rides from the ground floor to the upper hall in one continuous track, and installed a swivel-exit seat at the top. Mrs. Treviño rides from the entry level to the upper bedrooms in a single continuous pass. The compact profile leaves enough room for her husband to walk the stairs alongside.

North Mission stone cottage — straight rail anchored to flagstone treads

North Mission, TX Installed January 2026

A 1970s stone-and-stucco cottage on the north side of Mission near the canal. The interior staircase has irregular flagstone treads and a textured stucco wall. Standard bracket spacing wouldn't work — the stone thickness varied by almost half an inch tread to tread. We custom-shimmed every bracket to level the rail across the uneven stone surface.

South Mission front entry — weather-sealed outdoor lift on stone paving

South Mission, TX Installed December 2025

A single-story home in south Mission with a raised concrete-and-stone front entry — six steps from the driveway to the front door across saltillo tile pavers. Mr. Rodríguez is a retired Army veteran who served at Fort Sam Houston and qualified for the VA HISA grant through the VA Texas Valley Healthcare System. The weather-sealed cream seat sits on a stone-paved porch entry with natural daylight from above, and the lift folds flat when not in use.

Sharyland two-story — straight rail on plush carpeted stairs

Sharyland, TX Installed November 2025

A 1990s two-story in the original Sharyland subdivision east of Inspiration Road with deep plush carpet on the stairs. Mr. Peña has diabetic neuropathy and his podiatrist at DHR Health in Edinburg told him directly: stop using the stairs or modify them. We bolted the rail through the carpet into the wooden treads beneath. The brown-upholstered seat blends with the carpet tones at the landing area.

Platform Lift

Mission ranch home — indoor wheelchair platform lift with yellow safety edges

North Mission, TX Installed October 2025

A single-story ranch in north Mission with a four-step split between the main living area and the back bedroom wing — too short for a seated stairlift, too tall for a ramp inside the hallway. Mr. Cantu uses a power wheelchair after a spinal cord injury and the family needed him to cross that split independently without transferring. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift with a flat black anti-slip surface and yellow high-visibility safety edges along the indoor stairway, with a white handrail for additional stability.

Common Questions

Everything Mission Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Mission right now?

Straight rails in standard Mission homes — the Sharyland Plantation ranches, the 1990s two-stories east of Inspiration Road, the older single-stories off Conway Avenue — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for homes with upper-landing turns, like the 1950s and 1960s two-stories in Shary Heights, run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor lifts for the raised concrete entries common across south Mission run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Is Mission pricing different from McAllen or Edinburg?

Equipment prices are identical across Hidalgo County — we don't inflate quotes based on subdivision or zip code. What varies slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: custom-shimming brackets on irregular flagstone treads in older north Mission homes, or coordinating VA paperwork through the McAllen VA outpatient clinic for veteran installs. We itemize every line on the written quote. No hidden fees, no Sharyland premiums.

Do you charge extra for Spanish-language consultations?

No. The majority of our Mission consultations are bilingual — Luis conducts the entire assessment, paperwork review, and installation walkthrough in Spanish at your request. Every printed quote, consent form, and operating manual is available in Spanish. Zero surcharge. In a city where over 90% of households speak Spanish at home, that's not a special service — it's the baseline.

What about Winter Texan park model installations — different pricing?

Park model and manufactured home installs use the same equipment as site-built homes. The main difference is the entry configuration — most Valley park models have a raised front entry with four to six exterior steps, which means an outdoor-rated lift ($4,000-$7,500). We install in the park with management approval, seal the unit for the months you're away, and it runs when you drive back down in November. Several Mission-area RV parks have multiple units we've installed over the years.

A word from Luis

Most Mission families call after a parent or grandparent takes a bad step on the front porch — the concrete stoop at a Sharyland Plantation ranch, the tile entry at a 1960s home off Conway Avenue, the weathered wooden steps at a Winter Texan park model they've been coming back to for 15 seasons. In this part of the Valley, families make decisions together — usually around a kitchen table with three generations present.

I drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a written price honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere — la mayoría de mis consultas en Mission son bilingües.
