Stairlift Service Across Hidalgo County

Hidalgo County, TX

From Downtown McAllen’s older duplexes and two-story commercial conversions along Main Street to the colonials in Sharyland Plantation and North McAllen, from resaca-adjacent raised-foundation homes in Los Encinos to the La Plaza Mall area subdivisions where 1990s builders ran 14 carpeted treads and a landing turn — our team has mapped every pocket of the Valley that actually has stairs. We also cover Pharr, Mission, Edinburg, Hidalgo, and Palmhurst from the same local team. Because this is a border metro, every document — quote, manual, consent form — is available in Spanish. That’s not a translation service. It’s how we operate here.

Straight

Sharyland Plantation — straight rail on dark hardwood stairs for a post-surgery recovery

Sharyland Plantation, TX Installed March 2026

A 2006 colonial in Sharyland Plantation with dark hardwood open-tread stairs and a warm residential interior. Mr. García’s mother had moved in after a hip replacement at DHR Health and the family needed the lift working before her first follow-up appointment. We bolted a straight rail to the hardwood treads, parked the beige seat at the bottom landing, and walked Doña García through every button in Spanish. She rode it the same afternoon.

North McAllen — curved rail bending around the upper landing in a formal two-story

North McAllen, TX Installed February 2026

A 2012 two-story in North McAllen with tile floors, a formal entry, and a staircase that curves around a half-wall at the upper landing. Mrs. Peña was clear the lift could not look clinical in her modern interior. We laser-scanned the staircase, fabricated a curved rail that follows the 90-degree bend at the top floor, and parked the brown-upholstered seat at the upper hallway where she steps off directly. Her book club met two weeks later and nobody mentioned the lift until she demonstrated it.

La Plaza area — straight rail in a compact traditional home with stone treads

La Plaza Mall Area, TX Installed January 2026

A 1990s traditional home near La Plaza Mall with stone treads, a compact staircase, and a wooden sideboard with a potted plant at the bottom landing. Sra. Salinas needed the lift to fit without rearranging the entry furniture. We mounted a straight rail on the stone treads, seated the brown-upholstered chair at the base next to the sideboard, and kept the slim profile tight enough that the hallway traffic pattern didn’t change. The entire consultation and installation were conducted in Spanish.

Downtown McAllen — outdoor porch lift on stone paving at a raised entry

Downtown McAllen, TX Installed December 2025

An older Downtown home with a raised foundation and five concrete front steps on a stone-paved entry — the common layout in the blocks south of Main Street. Sr. Treviño uses a walker and the front steps had become the single biggest barrier to leaving the house. We installed a cream-colored weather-resistant seat on an outdoor rail over the stone paving, with a keyed call station at the lower landing. The lift is rated for the Valley’s 100°F+ summers and has run four months without a service call.

Mission adjacent — carpet-matched straight rail for a Winter Texan couple

Mission, TX Installed November 2025

A 2001 two-story in a retirement community between McAllen and Mission with carpeted stairs and a landing area. The Larsons spend October through March in the Valley and Mrs. Larson’s mobility had declined enough that the stairs were no longer safe. We installed a straight rail on the carpet-covered treads, with a brown-upholstered seat that blends with the carpet tones and a folding footrest. The seasonal service agreement keeps the battery charged during the off-months. This is their second winter with the lift.

Platform Lift

Los Encinos — indoor wheelchair platform lift for a retired Army veteran

Los Encinos, TX Installed October 2025

A home in Los Encinos where Sr. Garza, a retired Army veteran who qualified for a HISA grant through the VA Texas Valley Coastal Bend Health Care System in Harlingen, needed wheelchair access between floors. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift on the indoor stairway — a flat black anti-slip platform with yellow high-visibility safety edges and a white handrail. Sr. Garza rolls his wheelchair onto the platform and rides between floors without transferring to a seat. The VA prescription came back in four weeks and the lift was installed the following Tuesday.

Common Questions

Everything McAllen Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in the McAllen area right now?

Straight rails in standard Valley homes — the Sharyland Plantation colonials, the North McAllen two-stories, the Downtown duplexes — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for landing turns and split-levels run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact geometry. Outdoor and weather-sealed models for raised porches and front entries run $4,000 to $7,500 — and in McAllen, every outdoor install includes high-temperature lubricant and UV-stabilized upholstery at no additional charge. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices different in McAllen than Dallas or Houston?

Equipment prices are the same across Texas — we don’t adjust quotes by metro. What varies slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: running a dedicated circuit in an older Downtown duplex with 60-amp service, or heat-rating an outdoor install for the Valley’s 100°F+ summers. We tell you the line items upfront. No surprise fees, no regional markups.

Is the entire process available in Spanish?

Yes — and in McAllen, Spanish is not our second language, it’s our first. Every phone call, every home assessment, every printed quote, consent form, operating manual, and warranty document is available in Spanish. Luis conducts the entire consultation in whichever language the homeowner prefers — and in Hidalgo County, that’s Spanish about 80% of the time. Zero surcharge. Zero awkward translation delays.

Do you offer financing if I don’t qualify for STAR+PLUS or HISA?

Yes — three lending partners with 0% APR for qualified buyers and low fixed-rate plans from $79/month. Application is a soft credit pull (no hit to your score), takes about 4 minutes, and approval is usually instant. Many Valley families combine financing with the IRS medical deduction or a partial HISA grant to bring the monthly payment down further. We walk you through the math during the free assessment — in English or Spanish, your call.

A word from Luis

Most Rio Grande Valley families call me after the summer heat has made it impossible — a father who won’t go upstairs because the stairwell hits 105°F by noon, a mother who fell on the porch steps while the grandkids were at school, an adult child in Houston calling because their parents in Sharyland need help and every company they’ve tried only speaks English.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that’s honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. Hablamos español — aquí es lo normal.
