Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Bucks County

Bucks County, PA

Middletown Township covers sections across Cobalt Ridge, Forsythia Gate, Highland Park, Quincy Hollow, Juniper Hill, Deep Dale East, Deep Dale West, Lower Orchard, and Snowball Gate — all Levittown neighborhoods where original mid-century homes have narrow straight staircases around 32 inches wide. Twin Oaks (built 1958) and Woodbourne sit just outside the Levittown grid with split-levels and colonials from the '60s and '70s. Langhorne Gardens and Neshaminy Hills add newer construction, including two-story homes with oak-tread stairs well-suited for straight-rail installs. Boroughs of Langhorne, Penndel, and Hulmeville sit within the township boundary with their own older housing stock, some dating to the 1800s.

Straight

Straight Rail on Oak Treads in Forsythia Gate

Forsythia Gate, PA Installed March 2026

Original Levittown Jubilee model with dark oak treads the homeowners refinished in 2019. Twelve steps, 32 inches wide, straight run alongside the living room wall. The beige seat parks at the bottom landing, matching the warm indoor tones. Luis bolted the rail to the treads in five points — no wall drilling, no drywall repair. The homeowner's mother had stopped using the upstairs bathroom because of knee pain.

Curved

Curved Rail at Upper Landing in Highland Park

Highland Park, PA Installed February 2026

Expanded Levittown Pennsylvanian with a 90-degree turn added during a 1990s renovation. The staircase curves around a half-wall at the upper landing beneath a chandelier — one of the more elegant staircases Luis has worked on in Middletown. The brown leather seat parks at the top floor, out of the way of the main hallway. Curved rail was laser-measured on site, fabricated over ten days, and installed in a single long day.

Straight

Compact Straight Install on Stone Treads in Quincy Hollow

Quincy Hollow, PA Installed January 2026

Levittowner model with stone tile treads — a popular upgrade in Quincy Hollow where homeowners replaced the original vinyl with slate-look tile in the 2000s. The staircase runs tight past a wooden sideboard at the base, so Luis used a compact carriage that tucks the folded seat to just 14 inches from the wall. Brown seat blends with the cabinet and the darker tile tones.

Outdoor

Outdoor Porch Lift on Stone Entry in Snowball Gate

Snowball Gate, PA Installed November 2025

Front porch with four rough-stone steps leading to the door — classic Snowball Gate entry. The homeowner's wife couldn't manage the stone risers after a hip replacement. Cream-colored outdoor unit with IP55 weatherproofing and marine-grade seals, installed in full November daylight. The rail cover sheds rain and snow so the track stays clear.

Carpeted Straight Rail at Landing in Cobalt Ridge

Cobalt Ridge, PA Installed April 2026

Rancher model with beige carpeted treads running straight to a tiled-floor landing. The brown seat upholstery was selected to closely match the carpet tone — a detail the homeowner's daughter noticed and appreciated. Fourteen steps, standard 32-inch width, no turns. The rail brackets compress the carpet but don't tear or damage it; if the rail ever comes out, the carpet fluffs back.

Platform Lift

Indoor Wheelchair Platform in Langhorne Gardens Colonial

Langhorne Gardens, PA Installed March 2026

Two-story colonial where the homeowner's brother uses a manual wheelchair and couldn't access the second floor at all. Inclined platform lift installed on a straight staircase — flat black deck with yellow safety edges that stop the platform instantly on contact. White handrail along the stair-side for the rider to hold. The deck folds up against the wall when the rest of the family uses the stairs.

Common Questions

Everything Middletown Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Middletown Township?

Straight stairlifts start at $2,800 installed. Curved units start at $9,000 since the rail is custom-bent to your staircase after a laser measurement. Outdoor lifts start at $4,000. Heavy-duty models (up to 600 lb capacity) start at $5,050. These prices include the assessment, the rail, the carriage, installation, and a 5-year warranty. Most Levittown homes take a straight rail — about 32 inches wide, 12 to 14 treads — which keeps the cost at the low end. Financing runs from $79/month.

Are there hidden fees above the quoted stairlift price in Middletown?

No. The quote Luis gives you at the assessment is the final price. It covers the rail, carriage, installation labor, cleanup, and a demonstration of how the lift works. If your staircase needs a hinge section — which happens in some expanded Levittown homes where a landing interrupts the straight run — that's factored into the quote. There's no charge for the in-home assessment, and no surprise line items on the invoice. Same policy across all Middletown sections, from Highland Park to Deep Dale East.

How does stairlift pricing in Middletown compare to Philadelphia or Trenton?

Middletown prices run about the same as the rest of Lower Bucks County and the Philadelphia suburbs. You might see slightly higher quotes from companies based in Center City Philadelphia because of travel time, but our shop is local — Luis lives in the township, so there's no mileage surcharge. Straight-rail installs in Middletown are comparable to what you'd pay in Bensalem, Newtown, or Yardley.

Does insurance cover any part of a stairlift in Pennsylvania?

Medicare does not cover stairlifts. Private insurance sometimes covers a portion if your policy includes durable medical equipment with a home-modification rider, but this is rare. The practical funding paths in Pennsylvania are the CHC (Community HealthChoices) Waiver for Medicaid-eligible residents, the OBRA Waiver for adults with developmental physical disabilities, VA HISA grants for veterans, and PATF (Pennsylvania Assistive Technology Foundation) loans at 0% interest up to $2,000. We walk you through the paperwork for whichever program fits your situation.

A word from Luis

Most of my installs in Middletown are in Levittown sections — Forsythia Gate, Cobalt Ridge, Highland Park. Those houses went up fast between '52 and '58, and the stairs tell the story. The original models have a steep, narrow staircase that runs straight up alongside the living room wall. About 32 inches wide in a lot of them. A straight rail bolts right to the treads in three hours. But plenty of homeowners have expanded over the decades, and I see curved installs where a second-floor addition changed the stair path.

The older homes outside Levittown — the colonials and split-levels off Woodbourne Road and up toward Langhorne — have a different set of challenges. Wider treads, sometimes oak, sometimes pine under carpet. The Neshaminy Hills split-levels from the '70s are some of the easiest straight-rail jobs I do. And then there's the outdoor work: I've put weather-sealed units on porch steps in Snowball Gate and Twin Oaks, where the homeowner needs to get from the driveway up three or four stone risers to the front door. In February, those steps ice over. The IP55-rated rail holds up through every freeze-thaw cycle we get here — and Bucks County averages about 113 nights below freezing a year.

Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Middletown Township has one of the highest concentrations of mid-century housing stock in Bucks County — over 17,000 Levittown homes spread across four municipalities, with nine sections inside the township alone. That means a lot of staircases built to 1950s dimensions, and a lot of homeowners who want to stay in the house they've lived in for forty years. A straight stairlift gets the job done for most of those layouts.

If you're in Cobalt Ridge, Highland Park, or anywhere else in the township, Luis can be at your house within a day or two — he lives ten minutes from Core Creek Park. The assessment takes about 45 minutes, and most installs wrap up the same week. Call or fill out the form and he'll bring a tape measure and straight answers.
