The workhorse of Trenton's rowhouses and Hamilton's postwar colonials.

The compact-profile variant is our most-specified rail in Chambersburg and Mill Hill, where stairwell widths of 26-28 inches are the norm. Every unit ships with freeze-thaw-rated hardware as baseline because Central New Jersey demands it.

Stairlift Service Across Mercer County

Mercer County, NJ

Mill Hill is Trenton's oldest residential neighborhood — 1840s through 1890s brownstones with narrow stairwells, steep treads, and original banisters that define the compact-profile rail install. Chambersburg has similar-era rowhouses with the same tight stair geometry. Hiltonia runs a decade newer with slightly more stairwell room and frequent foundation settlement from clay soil — we shim rail brackets to compensate. West Trenton mixes Victorian-era homes and 1940s postwar builds where standard-width rails fit easily. Adjacent Hamilton has postwar colonials, 1960s split-levels, and newer two-stories. We also cover Ewing, Lawrence, Mercerville, and White Horse with no travel fee.

Chambersburg rowhouse — compact rail in a 27-inch stairwell

Chambersburg, NJ Installed March 2026

A 1905 rowhouse in Chambersburg with a stairwell that measured 27 inches — standard for the neighborhood. Mrs. Santiago's son called from Newark after she fell on the steep treads. Luis conducted the entire assessment in Spanish, fitted the compact-profile rail with a folding footrest, and left behind a Spanish-language operating manual. The original iron-and-wood banister was never touched. Three and a half hours from first bolt to final test ride.

Mill Hill brownstone — rail finish matched to original walnut banister

Mill Hill, NJ Installed February 2026

An 1880s brownstone in the Mill Hill Historic District with an original walnut banister, wide-plank treads, and a homeowner who had spent three years restoring the front parlor. Mr. Armstrong's first sentence: 'This house survived the Trenton Battle Monument construction, two world wars, and my ex-wife. The banister stays.' We brought four finish samples, matched the rail to the aged walnut, and bolted into the treads without touching a single spindle. The Trenton Historical Society visited the following month and complimented the stairs.

Hamilton split-level — straight rail on carpeted stairs to upper bedrooms

Hamilton, NJ Installed January 2026

A 1966 split-level in Hamilton Township — six steps from the foyer, a 90° landing, then seven more to the bedrooms. We laser-scanned the staircase, fabricated a curved rail, and installed a swivel-exit seat at the upper landing so Mr. Patel's mother — who moved in from Edison after her husband passed — steps off onto the hallway floor instead of the top tread. She's 84 and uses it eight times a day.

Hiltonia frame house — shimmed brackets for foundation settlement

Hiltonia, NJ Installed December 2025

A 1910 frame house in Hiltonia where the clay-soil foundation had settled enough to leave the stair treads visibly off-level. Mrs. Williams's previous contractor told her the stairs needed rebuilding first — a $5,000 job she couldn't afford. We shimmed the rail brackets to compensate, laser-leveled the track, and the chair rides perfectly smooth. NJ MLTSS covered the full cost. Mrs. Williams has been sleeping in her own bedroom again since December.

West Trenton — freeze-rated outdoor rail for front-porch stairs

West Trenton, NJ Installed November 2025

A Victorian in West Trenton with seven exterior concrete steps, a covered front porch, and a Central New Jersey winter that delivers real freeze-thaw cycles from November through March. Mr. Burke is a veteran who qualified for HISA through the VA Lyons campus. The outdoor spec: marine-grade epoxy rail coating, 316-stainless fasteners, sealed IP54 motor housing, and a cold-weather battery rated to −20°F. It rode through the 2025-26 winter without a freeze-related issue.

Platform Lift

Hamilton colonial — NJ MLTSS waiver-funded platform lift

Hamilton, NJ Installed October 2025

A 1975 colonial in Hamilton where Mr. Thomas — 79, living alone, NJ FamilyCare eligible — hadn't been upstairs in three months. His MLTSS Care Manager with Horizon wrote the stairlift into his care plan. We handled the prior-authorization paperwork, showed up, and installed in three hours. Fourteen carpeted treads, standard width, no turns. Mr. Thomas rode upstairs to his bedroom that evening for the first time since July. The MLTSS waiver covered the full cost.

Common Questions

Everything Trenton Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in Trenton right now?

Straight rails in standard Trenton homes — the Hiltonia frame houses, the West Trenton Victorians, the Hamilton postwar colonials — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails, needed for some Mill Hill brownstones with winding stairs and for Hamilton split-levels with mid-landing turns, run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact geometry. Outdoor and freeze-rated models for front-porch exterior stairs run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Is Trenton cheaper than other NJ cities for stairlifts?

Equipment prices are the same across New Jersey. What's different in Trenton is that more homes need the compact-profile rail due to narrow stairwells — and the compact rail costs the same as the standard one. What can add cost is running a dedicated electrical circuit in a 1900s house with an undersized panel, or shimming rail brackets for foundation settlement. Both are quoted upfront as line items.

Do you charge extra for Spanish-language service?

No. Every Mercer County assessment can be conducted in Spanish at your request. Every printed quote, consent form, and operating manual is available in Spanish. Zero surcharge.

Is the freeze-thaw hardware an extra charge?

No. Every Trenton outdoor install ships with marine-grade epoxy rail coating and 316-stainless fasteners as baseline. Central New Jersey's freeze-thaw cycles drive moisture into standard bracket hardware and destroy it within a few winters. Ours don't fail. The hardware spec is included in every written quote — not a $400 cold-weather upcharge.

A word from Luis

Most Trenton families call me after the same conversation — a parent struggling on the steep stairs of a Chambersburg rowhouse, a grandmother who hasn't been upstairs in the Mill Hill brownstone since her hip replacement, a son in Princeton worried about his mother in a Hiltonia home that's been in the family since the pottery days.

My job is simple: get to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that's honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
