Stairlift Service Across Ocean County

Ocean County, NJ

Stairlift jobs in Little Egg Harbor cluster in six pockets. On Mystic Island, 1960s-70s lagoon-front raised ranches have a half-flight from the garage to the kitchen — straight-rail work, salt-air sealed unit on canal-front homes. Parkertown and West Tuckerton hold 1800s saltboxes along Route 9 with treads as narrow as 30 inches. Four Seasons at Sea Oaks and Four Seasons at Harbor Bay, the 55-plus communities off Route 539, run straight rails on Craftsman two-stories. Out toward Osborn Island and the older Mystic Shores 55-plus pocket, post-Sandy elevated rebuilds put the living floor a flight above the garage — exterior stairs need the IP55-sealed unit.

Straight

Straight Rail on Hardwood Treads, Mystic Island Raised Ranch

Mystic Island, NJ Installed March 2026

A classic Mystic Island lagoon-front raised ranch: garage at ground level, dark oak stairs up to the main living floor. The homeowners had managed with a cane for two years before calling. The straight rail mounted into the hardwood treads — no wall work, no drywall repair. The cream seat sat at the bottom landing on the test run. Three hours from van to handshake.

Curved

Curved Rail at Upper Landing, Four Seasons at Sea Oaks

Four Seasons at Sea Oaks, NJ Installed January 2026

This Sea Oaks two-story has a split staircase — straight lower flight, then a 90-degree turn at a half-wall landing before the upper flight. The curved rail was factory-bent from Luis's laser measurements. The brown seat blended with the existing decor and parks neatly at the top landing, out of the hallway. The chandelier above the staircase stayed untouched — the rail follows the tread line, not the ceiling.

Straight

Compact Straight Rail, 1830s Parkertown Saltbox

Parkertown, NJ Installed February 2026

An 1830s saltbox on Route 9 with original stone-tread stairs only 30 inches wide. The brown seat blended with the antique wooden sideboard at the base of the staircase. The narrow treads required precise rail positioning, but direct-to-tread mounting meant no impact on the plaster walls. The homeowner's mother, 82, used the stairs for the first time in a year the afternoon of the install.

Outdoor

Outdoor Weatherproof Rail, Elevated Osborn Island Home

Osborn Island, NJ Installed December 2025

A post-Sandy elevated home on Osborn Island with a 14-step exterior staircase from the driveway up to the front door — fully exposed to bay wind and salt spray. The cream outdoor seat was mounted to an aluminum rail with an IP55-sealed motor. The rough stone paving at the base gave us a solid anchor — stainless bolts into the stone, no concrete work needed.

Straight

Straight Rail Over Carpeted Stairs, Mystic Shores 55+ Community

Mystic Shores, NJ Installed November 2025

The Mystic Shores home has wall-to-wall carpet on the stairs in a warm beige — nearly the same shade as the brown seat upholstery. The rail mounted through the carpet directly into the wood treads beneath without pulling the carpet up. The base landing had ceramic tile, and the rail footplate sat at the edge where carpet meets tile for a clean transition. The homeowner tested it three times carrying a laundry basket.

Platform Lift

Indoor Platform Lift for Wheelchair User, Four Seasons at Harbor Bay

Four Seasons at Harbor Bay, NJ Installed March 2026

The homeowner's wife uses a wheelchair full-time and couldn't transfer to a stairlift seat. Luis installed the inclined platform: a flat black deck with yellow safety edges and a white handrail. The deck carries her up in her chair without any transfer. Five-hour install — rail mounted to the treads, platform calibrated, safety sensors tested at three points along the track. Folds against the wall when not in use.

Common Questions

Everything Little Egg Harbor Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Little Egg Harbor?

A straight stairlift starts at $2,800 installed. Curved rails, which are custom-bent to match turns or landings, start at $9,000. Outdoor units for exterior staircases — common on the elevated post-Sandy homes on Osborn Island and Mystic Island — start at $4,000. Heavy-duty models rated for 600 lb start at $5,050. Every quote includes the in-home assessment, installation, and the first year of service calls.

Are there hidden fees or add-ons I should expect?

No. Our quote is the final price. It includes the laser measurement, the rail — custom-bent if curved — the seat, installation, and a 5-year warranty on parts plus a lifetime warranty on the rail. The only extra we sometimes discuss is a power disconnect switch if your electrical panel is far from the staircase, and even that is rare in Little Egg Harbor homes.

Does Medicare cover stairlift costs in Ocean County?

Medicare Parts A and B do not cover stairlifts — they classify them as home modifications, not durable medical equipment. New Jersey's JACC program (Jersey Assistance for Community Caregiving) covers environmental accessibility modifications for residents 60 and older who meet nursing-home-level clinical criteria. Medicaid MLTSS also covers residential modifications when medically necessary.

What financing options are available for a Little Egg Harbor stairlift?

We offer financing starting at $79 a month. Terms run 12 to 60 months, and there is no prepayment penalty. We also walk families through the JACC application and the VA HISA grant — the two programs that cover most of our township installs.

A word from Luis

I've worked on just about every type of staircase you find in this township. The older homes in Parkertown — those saltboxes from the 1820s and 30s on Route 9 — have stairs so narrow you'd think a rail would never fit. We get it done. On Mystic Island, it is mostly raised ranches: garage level at the bottom and a straight flight up to the kitchen and living room. That is our most common install — about three hours, bolts to the treads, no wall work.

The post-Sandy rebuilds are a different animal. A lot of those homes on Osborn Island got lifted eight, ten feet. The exterior staircase to the front door is long and steep, and the salt air off Great Bay is brutal on hardware — for those we install IP55-sealed outdoor units with marine-grade fasteners. And in the 55-plus communities like Four Seasons at Harbor Bay and Sea Oaks, we see a mix: some straight, some needing a platform lift when one spouse uses a wheelchair.

— Luis Ramírez, Little Egg Harbor
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Little Egg Harbor's housing mix means no two installs look the same — but the process does. Call, book the free in-home assessment, Luis shows up with a laser measure, and most straight-rail jobs are done in three hours. From a Parkertown saltbox with 30-inch-wide stairs to a lagoon-front raised ranch on Mystic Island, the rail bolts to the treads and plugs into a standard outlet. No remodeling, no permits needed for the install itself.

Funding-wise, veterans in the township use the HISA grant — $6,800 for service-connected, $2,000 for non-service-connected — processed through the Leonard G. 'Bud' Lomell VA Clinic at 1055 Hooper Avenue in Toms River. Seniors 60 and older who qualify for nursing-home level care can apply through New Jersey's JACC program, which covers environmental accessibility modifications including stairlifts. At the free assessment we walk through which one fits your situation.
