The Atlantic County Housing Rehabilitation Program (ACOHRP) is a 0% interest deferred loan, averaging about $20,000 per contract with 70 to 100 contracts funded a year, but the published eligible-work list only names plumbing, heating, electric, roof, windows, doors, insulation, and exterior repair — stairlifts aren't on it. The Atlantic County Office on Aging runs Fix-It, but its published scope names only handrail installation and minor home repairs, and even where it applies, the program pays for labor and installation only — never the cost of the equipment itself. Veterans have a separate route: VA Prosthetics covers a medically prescribed stairlift with no set cap, and HISA grants add up to $6,800 for service-connected veterans or $2,000 for non-service-connected veterans for the structural work around it.
