Stairlift Service Across Hillsborough County

Hillsborough County, NH

Hudson splits into distinct stair environments depending on where you live. Hudson Village along the Merrimack holds the oldest housing stock — colonials and Capes off Library Street with 32-inch staircases and original pine treads requiring careful tread-clamp work. Robinson Pond and the streets off Bush Hill Road bring 1970s–1980s split-levels with two short flights, often best served by two straight rails. Nottingham West off Lowell Road is newer construction (1995–2010), 36-inch widths, easy straight installs. Musquash in the south runs older country roads with cottage-style homes and tight winders. Barrett Hill, a 1980s detached-condo community off Fox Run Road, gives us standard 13-tread carpeted runs. Fox Hollow condos near Derry Road — 240 units, 1990s build — are simple straight-rail territory.

Common Questions

Everything Hudson Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Hudson, NH?

Straight stairlifts in Hudson run from $2,800 installed; curved units start at $9,000 because the rail is custom-bent for your specific staircase. Outdoor stairlifts for porches and side entries start at $4,000. We quote firm prices in writing within 48 hours of the in-home measurement — no Hudson Village home is too old or too tight to quote.

Are stairlift quotes in Hudson really free?

Yes. The in-home assessment, measurement, and written quote are free for any Hudson, Litchfield, or Pelham address. We drive Lowell Road and Route 102 daily, so there is no travel surcharge. The free assessment includes confirming whether your staircase needs a straight or curved rail and whether the existing treads can hold the tread-clamps.

Can I finance a stairlift in Hudson?

Yes. Financing starts from $79 per month with credit approval. Most Hudson clients pair the financing with the federal medical-expense deduction (IRS Publication 502) which lets you deduct stairlift costs that exceed 7.5% of your AGI. We hand over the receipt structured for the deduction.

Do you buy back used stairlifts in Hudson?

We do. If a Hudson family installed a unit and the user has moved or passed, we will assess the rail condition and motor hours and quote a removal-plus-buyback. Straight rails buy back at higher rates than curved because curved rails are custom-bent and can rarely be reused.

A word from Luis

Hudson homes split cleanly between two stair problems. The older Hudson Village houses near Library Park and Ferry Street were built before WWII — narrow 32 to 34 inch staircases, original pine treads, often a tight winder at the top. The post-1990 subdivisions out by Robinson Pond and Nottingham West give us 36 inch widths and straight 13 to 14 tread runs, which is the easiest install we do.

For the older village homes I usually recommend a Stannah 600 with a folding rail — clears the doorway swing and keeps the staircase usable for grandkids visiting. For service-connected veterans I always start the Manchester VA HISA paperwork on the first visit. The grant is $6,800 and Manchester processes Hudson applications in under six weeks if the documentation is complete.

Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Hudson stairlifts pay for themselves in the first winter. Between the freeze-thaw cycles cracking front-step concrete and the steep older village staircases off Library Street and Ferry Street, the lift is the difference between aging at home and a forced move to assisted living in Nashua or Salem.

Call for a free in-home assessment — I personally come out for every Hudson, Litchfield, and Pelham consultation. We measure, we quote within 48 hours, and most straight installs are running before the next weekend.
