Stairlift Service Across Rockingham County

Rockingham County, NH

From the federal-style colonials clustered around Derry Village — where the original settlement formed near the First Parish Church — to the 1960s capes and ranch homes in East Derry built during the Route 28 expansion, our crew has measured staircases across every Derry neighborhood. Barkland Acres homes feature standard straight-run stairs with carpeted treads and narrow hallways. Applewood Village's newer construction offers wider stairways and open floor plans that simplify installs. The homes along Tsienneto Road have the steep, narrow stairs typical of postwar construction. Near the Robert Frost Farm on Rockingham Road, older farmhouse-style homes with tight turns at the landing need curved rails to carry riders in one continuous ride.

1950s Derry Village colonial — straight rail on original oak treads

Derry Village, NH Installed March 2026

A 1952 colonial near Derry Village with 14 original oak treads and a painted wood banister the Thompsons have maintained for decades. Mrs. Thompson had been sleeping in the downstairs den for three weeks after knee surgery because the steep stairs were off-limits. We drove out, measured the 15-foot run with a laser, confirmed the solid oak treads could accept the mounting hardware without splitting, and installed the same week. The brown-upholstered seat parks flush against the wall at the bottom. Mrs. Thompson slept in her own bed that night.

1970s East Derry split-level — curved rail through a 90° landing turn

East Derry, NH Installed February 2026

A 1973 split-level in East Derry with six steps from the front entry to the living area, a 90-degree landing, then nine more steps to the bedrooms. Mr. Rossetti served at Pease Air National Guard Base and has lived in the house since 1988. We laser-scanned the full run on the first visit, fabricated a single curved rail that carries him from the entry to the upper hallway without stopping, and installed a swivel-exit seat at the top. His VA provider at the Manchester VAMC wrote the HISA prescription, and the grant covered $6,800 of the cost. One ride, zero transfers.

Barkland Acres ranch — straight rail on carpeted stairs near wooden sideboard

Barkland Acres, NH Installed January 2026

A 1960s raised ranch in Barkland Acres with carpeted stairs and a standard 36-inch-wide staircase. The brown-upholstered seat sits at the bottom of the stairs next to the family's wooden sideboard and a potted plant Mrs. Lavoie keeps near the landing. The rail bolts through the carpet into the wooden treads beneath — no carpet removal, no damage to the pile. Folded, the seat and rail take up 11 inches, leaving 25 inches of clear passage. The grandchildren who visit from Londonderry run past it without a second glance.

Tsienneto Road home — outdoor lift on icy concrete porch steps

Tsienneto Road area, NH Installed December 2025

A home along Tsienneto Road with six concrete front steps that iced over every winter. Mr. Murphy had already fallen once on the icy steps before his daughter called us. The cream-colored weather-resistant seat sits at the bottom, ready when he comes home from errands. Every component is UV-stabilized, freeze-rated for Rockingham County winters, and carries an IP55 seal against rain, snow, and the nor'easter winds that sweep through Derry every season. The battery backup kept the lift running through two power outages last February.

Applewood Village home — straight rail on wide treads, same-week install

Applewood Village, NH Installed November 2025

A newer two-story home in Applewood Village with wide engineered-hardwood treads and an open floor plan. Mrs. Sullivan's daughter called on Monday, we measured Tuesday afternoon, and the install crew arrived Thursday morning. The Choices for Independence waiver covered the full cost — approved through ServiceLink and the Rockingham County aging services office. The rail mounts flush against the wall, and the swivel seat at the top lets Mrs. Sullivan step off onto the upstairs landing facing the hallway. She was riding it by Thursday evening.

Platform Lift

Bellebrook home — inclined wheelchair platform lift with yellow safety edges

Bellebrook, NH Installed October 2025

A multi-level home in the Bellebrook area where Mr. Dubois uses a power wheelchair full-time after a service-connected spinal injury. A seated stairlift was not an option — he needed to ride his chair between floors. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift along the indoor stairway: a flat black anti-slip platform with yellow high-visibility safety edges on all thresholds, white handrails, and a keyed lockout so visiting grandchildren cannot activate it unsupervised. The HISA grant covered $6,800 and the Choices for Independence waiver covered the remaining balance. Mr. Dubois rolls onto the platform, presses one button, and rides the incline to the upper floor without leaving his chair.

Common Questions

Everything Derry Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Derry, NH?

Straight rails in standard Derry homes — the capes in East Derry, the colonials near Derry Village, the ranchers along Tsienneto Road — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails, which you need for most split-level landing turns and older two-story homes in Barkland Acres, run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor models for raised entries and porches run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are Derry prices different from Manchester or Nashua?

Equipment prices are the same across New Hampshire — we do not inflate or discount based on metro size. What varies slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: narrow treads in Derry Village colonials, split-level landing fabrication in Applewood Village, and the corrosion-resistant coating we spec on every outdoor install to handle New Hampshire freeze-thaw cycles. Those are baseline specs, not upcharges. We list every line item on the written quote so you see exactly what you are paying for.

Is a stairlift cheaper than moving to a single-story home?

Moving costs in Rockingham County — real estate commission, closing costs, packing, new deposits — typically run $20,000 to $40,000 minimum given current home values in the southern New Hampshire market. A straight stairlift installs in under four hours for $2,800 to $5,500 and lets you stay in the home you have lived in for decades, in the Derry neighborhood you know, near your doctors and your community. For most Derry families, the stairlift costs less than the real estate commission alone.

Do you offer financing for Derry homeowners?

Yes. We offer 12-month interest-free financing and extended terms up to 60 months starting at $79 per month for a standard straight install. Approval takes minutes during the in-home visit. We also help you stack financing with VA HISA, New Hampshire Choices for Independence, or Rockingham County senior services so you pay the lowest possible out-of-pocket cost.

A word from Luis

Derry families usually call after a close call on the stairs — a retired teacher in East Derry who slipped on the narrow oak treads, a veteran in Derry Village whose knees gave out after years of climbing to a second-floor bedroom, a daughter in Londonderry worried about her parents in one of those 1960s capes on Tsienneto Road they refuse to leave.

I drive out, measure the staircase, and hand you a written quote honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
