Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across St. Louis County

St. Louis County, MN

We install across every Hibbing neighborhood. Hibbing Heights homes from the 1908–1920 plat typically have 32-inch oak staircases with a 90-degree turn at the top landing — curved rail territory. Brooklyn-Kitzville and Kelly Lake are mostly post-war ranches and split-levels where a straight 13-foot run handles the job. Hibbing South and the Alice District hold the original 1920s relocated homes — steep, narrow stairs, slim seats only. Greenhaven has newer single-family builds with standard-width stairs near the park. Mesabi Pines twin homes run standard ranch stairs close to the country club. Along East Howard Street, converted apartments get compact straight units. We also cover Chisholm (5 mi), Buhl (8 mi), and Virginia (20 mi).

Common Questions

Everything Hibbing Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Hibbing?

Straight rail in a Brooklyn-Kitzville ranch starts at $2,800 installed. Curved rail for an original Hibbing Heights home with a 90-degree top landing runs $9,000 to $14,000. Outdoor units start at $4,000 with the weatherized package.

Are there hidden fees in your Hibbing quote?

No. The written quote includes the rail, seat, motor, install labor, and Minnesota sales tax. We do not charge travel fees inside St. Louis County or to Chisholm, Buhl, or Mountain Iron.

Can I finance a stairlift in Hibbing?

Yes. Our partner lender offers terms from $79/month with approved credit. Application takes about ten minutes after the in-home measurement and most decisions return inside 24 hours.

Is there ongoing maintenance cost on the Iron Range?

An annual service runs $180 to $250. In Hibbing we recommend it because freeze-thaw and condensation can shorten brush life on cheaper motors. Battery packs typically last 4–5 years and run about $190 to replace.

A word from Luis

Hibbing housing tells a story. Most of the homes I work in were built between 1919 and 1925, when the entire village was moved south of Alice to clear the iron ore — narrow staircases, original oak treads, plaster walls that have not been touched since Prohibition. The stairs run steep, sometimes 38 degrees, and the treads are often 7.5 inches deep instead of the modern 10. I measure every one before I order rail, because a Hibbing Heights original and a Kelly Lake ranch are two different animals with a $6,000 price gap between them.

Then there is the post-war ranch belt in Hibbing South, Kelly Lake, and Greenhaven, where the stairs are wider — 13-foot runs, bolt-to-tread install, done in under 3 hours. Iron Range winters are hard on outdoor equipment. Freeze-thaw cycles crack cheap rail finishes by year three. I only spec sealed motors and powder-coated rail, and I size the battery backup for a December power outage when temperatures drop past -20°F. Call me — I will measure your stairs, quote you in writing the same day, and tell you straight if a curved rail is actually necessary for your run.

— Luis Ramírez, Hibbing
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Hibbing stairs were built before stairlifts existed. The original 1919–1925 housing stock — moved block by block from the mine face to clear room for the Hull-Rust pit — left narrow runs, steep angles, and 90-degree upper-landing turns as the default across St. Louis County's largest Iron Range city. A 32-inch Hibbing Heights original and a 42-inch Kelly Lake ranch are two different installs with a $6,000 price gap; we measure each one in person before quoting anything.

Call for a free in-home assessment. I will come to your address anywhere in Hibbing — no travel fees inside St. Louis County — measure the run, and hand you a written quote before I leave. I will also tell you straight if a curved rail is overkill. Most Iron Range households qualify for the Elderly Waiver EAA through St. Louis County Health and Human Services, and we supply the equipment quote and medical-necessity letter the same day.
