Stairlift Service Across St. Louis County

St. Louis County, MN

Hermantown homes split into a few clear types and each one shapes the install. The eastern bedroom-community side off Maple Grove Road and Haines Road is mostly 1970s–1990s split-levels — short half-flights with a quarter-turn landing, often carpeted, where a straight rail with a programmed parking position works cleanly. Grouse Ridge and Hidden Preserve show newer two-stories with 14–16 tread runs and modern oak treads that take a flush rail bracket. Peyton Acres is the newest subdivision and the framing tolerates standard 28-inch widths. Adolph in the southwest corner and the original Jackson Project homesteads are 1930s–1950s — narrower treads, paint buildup, and ungrounded outlets that need a dedicated 20-amp circuit run before the rail goes up.

Common Questions

Everything Hermantown Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Hermantown?

A straight stairlift in a Hermantown split-level off Maple Grove or Stebner Road typically runs $2,800–$4,500 installed. Curved units for Grouse Ridge or Hidden Preserve two-stories start at $9,000 because the rail is laser-measured and built to the exact turn. Outdoor units for porches near Pike Lake start at $4,000.

Are there extra fees for older Adolph or Jackson Project homes?

Sometimes. A 1930s Jackson homestead may need a dedicated 20-amp circuit run before the rail can be installed — usually $150–$300 from a local electrician. We never mark that up. Tread reinforcement on heavily painted stairs is rare but quoted in writing if needed.

Do you offer financing for Hermantown homeowners?

Yes. Approved buyers can finance from $79/month with no prepayment penalty. We can run the soft-credit check during the in-home visit so you know the monthly figure before you decide.

Is the rental option real for short-term Hermantown needs?

Yes — for straight stairs only. Rentals run roughly $300–$450 per month with installation and removal included. Useful for post-surgical recovery at a Hermantown family member's home or a short St. Luke's discharge plan.

A word from Luis

I've measured a lot of stairs in Hermantown — the 1970s split-levels around Stebner Road with their landing-then-half-flight layout, the newer Hidden Preserve two-stories where the basement plays mechanical room, and the original Jackson Project homes near Adolph with treads narrowed by decades of paint. None of those are catalog jobs.

The Northland matters too. A garage entry off Morris Thomas Road that drifts shut in February still has to seat a rider in May — that's why every outdoor rail I install here is IP55-sealed with galvanized freeze-thaw fasteners and a heated battery pocket. If I'm not satisfied a unit will run through one of our cold snaps, it doesn't go in.

— Luis Ramírez, Hermantown
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Hermantown's housing stock is unusually varied for a city of 10,000 — Depression-era homesteads, lakeside cabins, 1980s splits, and brand-new builds in the same zip code. There is no single "Hermantown stairlift" — there's a measurement, a tread material, a turn radius, and a power situation. We do all of that on a free in-home visit, in writing, with no obligation.

If you live in Hermantown, Proctor, or anywhere in the Pike Lake corridor and a flight of stairs is starting to feel like a daily decision, call us. Same-week installs are normal. Funding paperwork — VA HISA, Elderly Waiver EAA, tax-credit guidance — is part of the consultation, not extra.
