Stairlift Service Across Alameda County

Alameda County, CA

From the postwar ranch blocks of Southgate — where 1950s split-levels with mid-landing turns are the most common staircase we measure — to the hillside homes of Hayward Highland with original hardwood treads and Bay views, our team has mapped every neighborhood in the city. We know which Harder-Tennyson homes have raised front entries with stone paving that need outdoor-rated lifts, which Mount Eden cottages have narrow stairwells requiring our slim-profile rail, and which Upper B Street two-stories have thick carpet-over-pad stairs that demand subfloor-mounted brackets. The Burbank neighborhood has single-story ranches with sunken living rooms — a four-step drop that’s often the difference between independence and a fall for wheelchair users. We also cover Union City, Fremont, Castro Valley, and San Lorenzo — no extra travel fees.

1962 Hayward Highland ranch — straight rail on original oak hardwood stairs

Hayward Highland, CA Installed March 2026

A 1962 ranch in Hayward Highland with original red oak hardwood treads that Mrs. Nakamura’s late husband had refinished twice and she refused to cover with carpet. The staircase runs 14 steps from the entry foyer up to the three bedrooms with a clear sightline to the Bay from the upper hallway. We mounted the rail brackets directly into the oak treads using recessed stainless bolts that sit flush — no visible hardware from the hallway side. The chair parks at the bottom landing folded flat against the wall so the front door swings open without clearance issues.

1958 Southgate split-level — curved rail with upper landing turn

Southgate, CA Installed February 2026

A 1958 split-level in Southgate — nine steps from the living room to the mid-landing, a 90-degree turn, then five more steps to the bedroom hallway. Two other companies quoted two separate straight rails with a transfer at the landing. We laser-scanned the full staircase and fabricated a single curved rail that carries Mr. Delgado from the living room to the upper hallway in one uninterrupted ride. The swivel-exit seat lets him step off onto level hallway floor instead of balancing on the top tread.

Mount Eden cottage — straight rail alongside original stone-and-plaster walls

Mount Eden, CA Installed January 2026

A 1940s cottage in the Mount Eden area with narrow stairs, textured plaster walls, and original stone wainscoting along the lower stairwell that the family wanted preserved. The staircase was tight — 28 inches between the stone wall and the banister. We specified the slim-profile rail and compact seat that folds to just 11 inches from the wall, keeping the full walking width open for other family members. The treads were unfinished Douglas fir with visible nail holes from decades of carpet tack strips — we filled the old holes, sealed each bracket mount, and ran the rail along the stone side so the banister remained completely untouched.

Harder-Tennyson front entry — weather-sealed outdoor rail on stone paving steps

Harder-Tennyson, CA Installed December 2025

A 1955 ranch in Harder-Tennyson with a raised front entry — six stone paving steps from the driveway to the front porch, no handrail, and a mature magnolia dropping leaves across the walkway year-round. Mr. Washington is an Army veteran who’d been using the side garage entrance to avoid the front steps for two years. We mounted the outdoor rail directly into the stone pavers using marine-grade stainless anchors, sealed the motor housing to IP55, and added a leaf guard over the rail channel. The VA Fremont Clinic processed his HISA grant paperwork — we prefilled VA Form 10-0103 and the prescription came back in four weeks. He uses the front door again for the first time since 2023.

Upper B Street two-story — straight rail over thick carpet and pad

Upper B Street, CA Installed November 2025

A 1970s two-story on Upper B Street with a straight 13-step staircase covered in thick plush carpet over a heavy pad. The challenge with carpeted stairs is bracket compression — over time, standard mounts can sink into the pad and create play in the rail. We cut precise carpet plugs at each bracket point, mounted directly to the wood substructure underneath, then sealed the carpet edges around each bracket so the surrounding carpet stays taut. The ride is rock-solid with zero flex. Mrs. Patel had been scooting down the stairs on her hip after a fall three months earlier — her son in San Jose found us online and scheduled the assessment the same day.

Platform Lift

Burbank ranch — indoor wheelchair platform lift with yellow safety edges

Burbank, CA Installed October 2025

A 1965 ranch in the Burbank neighborhood where Mr. Rivera uses a power wheelchair full-time after a spinal cord injury. A seat-style stairlift was not an option — he needed to ride the chair itself between levels. We installed an indoor wheelchair platform lift alongside the four-step run between the sunken living room and the main hallway. The platform has high-visibility yellow safety edges on all four sides per ADA guidelines, automatic folding ramps at both levels, and a keyed lockout so grandchildren cannot operate it unsupervised. The entire unit fits within a 36-by-54-inch footprint and the platform lowers flush with the living room floor when not in use.

Common Questions

Everything Hayward Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Hayward right now?

Straight rails in standard Hayward homes — the postwar ranches in Southgate, the two-stories on Upper B Street, the 1960s builds in Hayward Highland — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for split-levels with landing turns, common in Southgate and Mount Eden, run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor models for raised front entries run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are Hayward prices higher because of Bay Area labor costs?

Equipment prices are the same whether you’re in Hayward, Fremont, or Fresno — we don’t inflate quotes for the Bay Area. What can vary slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: narrow stairwells in 1940s Mount Eden cottages, foundation settlement in older Harder-Tennyson homes, or homes where we need to route a dedicated 120V circuit because the nearest outlet is in the wrong room. We itemize everything upfront. No surprise Bay Area surcharges.

Do you charge extra for Spanish-language consultations?

No. Every Hayward assessment can be conducted in Spanish at your request — Luis is bilingual and has walked dozens of East Bay families through every line of the paperwork in their preferred language. Every printed quote, consent form, and operating manual is available in Spanish. Zero surcharge. Hayward’s Hispanic community is roughly 40% of the population — bilingual service should be standard, not an add-on.

Do you offer financing if I don’t qualify for Medi-Cal or HISA?

Yes — three lending partners with 0% APR for qualified buyers and low fixed-rate plans from $79/month. Application is a soft credit pull (no score impact), takes about 4 minutes, and approval is usually instant. Many Hayward families combine financing with the IRS medical deduction or a partial HISA grant to bring the monthly payment down further. We walk you through the math during the free assessment — on paper, not a tablet screen.

A word from Luis

Most Hayward families reach out after a close call on the stairs — a stumble on the worn carpet in a 1960s Southgate ranch, a father who stopped going upstairs in a Hayward Highland split-level after his second knee surgery, a daughter in Seattle who calls because her mother’s been sleeping on the living room couch in the Harder-Tennyson house she’s owned since 1978.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that’s honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
