Stairlift Service Across Montgomery County

Montgomery County, MD

From Churchill Village — the original 1970s development with split-level floor plans where curved rails handle the mid-landing turn — to Clopper’s Mill with its 1990s colonials where a straight 15-foot rail fits the standard staircase, our team has measured stairs in every Germantown village. We know which Kingsview townhomes have the steep narrow stairwell requiring a slim-profile seat, which Middlebrook units near the MARC stop have wider post-2000 stairs that install in three hours, and which Neelsville homes along Clopper Road sit close enough to Holy Cross Germantown Hospital that post-surgical patients ride the lift the same week they come home. We also cover Clarksburg, Montgomery Village, Gaithersburg, and Flower Hill.

Straight

Clopper’s Mill colonial — straight rail on original hardwood oak treads

Clopper’s Mill, MD Installed March 2026

A 1994 colonial in Clopper’s Mill with original oak treads, a turned-spindle banister, and a homeowner who was clear that the stairlift ‘must not make my front hall look like a hospital.’ Mrs. Whitfield had a total knee replacement at Holy Cross Germantown Hospital and her orthopedic surgeon wrote the medical-necessity letter while she was still in recovery. We measured the Wednesday before her discharge, installed the following Monday, and she rode it home from the front door without ever touching the stairs. The rail bolts into the oak treads only — the spindle banister and newel post are completely untouched.

Curved

Churchill Village split-level — curved rail through the 90-degree landing

Churchill Village, MD Installed February 2026

A 1976 split-level in Churchill Village — the most common staircase type in Germantown’s oldest village. Seven steps from the entry to the main living level, a mid-landing with a 90-degree turn, then nine more steps to the bedrooms. Two other companies told the Okafors they would need two separate lifts. We laser-scanned the staircase during the first visit, fabricated a single curved rail that rides the full run in one continuous track, and installed a swivel-exit seat at the upper landing. Mr. Okafor is a retired Army logistics officer who qualified for the HISA grant through the Montgomery County VA CBOC in Gaithersburg.

Neelsville cottage-style home — straight rail on stone-accent staircase

Neelsville, MD Installed January 2026

A late-1980s cottage-style home off Clopper Road in the Neelsville area with stone veneer on the stair risers and a wooden banister the family wanted preserved. Mr. Petersen’s wife has advanced rheumatoid arthritis and the stairs between the main level and the bedrooms had become a twice-daily ordeal. Their daughter, a nurse at Holy Cross Germantown Hospital two miles away, called us after a shift and we measured the next morning. The rail bolts into the wood substrate beneath the stone veneer, and the chair parks flat against the wall at the bottom landing. The wooden banister is completely untouched.

Outdoor

Kingsview Village — outdoor lift on front entry stone paving steps

Kingsview Village, MD Installed December 2025

A Kingsview Village townhome with six exterior stone-paved steps from the sidewalk to the raised front entry — the only way in and out of the house. Mr. Wallace uses a cane after a stroke and the uneven stone treads were a fall waiting to happen every time it rained. We installed an outdoor rail with marine-grade coating, sealed motor housing, and a weather cover for the cream seat. The Montgomery County winter freeze-thaw cycle cracks lesser coatings in one season — ours is rated for the full Maryland temperature swing from single digits to 95°F summer humidity.

Middlebrook townhome — straight rail on carpeted stairs near the MARC stop

Middlebrook, MD Installed November 2025

A 2002 Middlebrook townhome two blocks from the MARC commuter station with builder-grade carpet over wood-frame stairs. Mrs. Gupta’s husband commutes to D.C. daily and was worried about leaving her alone with a steep 14-step staircase after her hip surgery at Shady Grove Medical Center. We measured the day before her procedure, installed the day before she came home, and she rode it for the first time while her husband recorded a video call with their daughter in Bangalore. The carpet is undamaged beneath the brackets, the chair parks at the bottom so the narrow townhome hallway at the top stays clear.

Platform Lift

Gunners Lake Village — indoor wheelchair platform lift with yellow safety edges

Gunners Lake Village, MD Installed October 2025

A 1980s split-entry home in Gunners Lake Village with a four-step interior level change between the garage entry and the main living area. Mr. Thompson is a retired federal employee who uses a power wheelchair after a spinal cord injury. A standard stairlift was not an option — he cannot transfer out of the chair safely. We installed an indoor vertical platform lift with high-visibility yellow safety edges on the platform perimeter, interlocked gates at both levels, and a battery backup rated for the winter nor’easters that knock out power across the upcounty. The platform handles 750 lbs — wheelchair and occupant — and the yellow edges are visible from every angle in the entry hallway.

Common Questions

Everything Germantown Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Germantown right now?

Straight rails in standard Germantown homes — the Clopper’s Mill colonials, the Middlebrook townhomes, the Neelsville single-family builds — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails, which you will need for most Churchill Village split-levels and any staircase with a mid-landing turn, run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor models for raised front entries and exterior steps run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices different in Germantown than in Bethesda or Rockville?

Equipment prices are the same across Montgomery County — we do not inflate quotes based on zip code or neighborhood. What varies slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: the narrow stairwells in Kingsview townhomes that require a slim-profile seat, the humid basement stairways in older Churchill Village splits that need marine-grade coating, or homes where we pull a dedicated 120V circuit because the existing outlet shares a first-floor breaker. We tell you the line items upfront.

Is there a travel fee for upcounty Germantown addresses?

No. We cover all of Montgomery County — Germantown, Clarksburg, Gaithersburg, Montgomery Village, Flower Hill, Olney, Rockville, Bethesda — with zero travel fees. The assessment is free, the quote is free, and we do not add mileage surcharges for addresses north of Gaithersburg.

Is there a charge for the in-home assessment in Germantown?

No. The assessment is free, takes about 45 minutes, and comes with a written quote honored for 30 days. We laser-measure your staircase, check the electrical outlet situation near the stairs, and photograph the treads and landing for the fabrication team. If you need a curved rail — common in Churchill Village split-levels — the digital scan happens during this same visit. No obligation, no deposit, no credit card required.

A word from Luis

Most Germantown families call me after a close call on the stairs — a stumble on the carpeted split-level treads in a Churchill Village colonial, a parent who stopped going upstairs after a knee replacement, a son in Bethesda worried about his mother alone in the Clopper’s Mill house she has owned since 1994.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that’s honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
