Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Nassau County

Nassau County, NY

We cover the full Village of Freeport from the Nautical Mile and Woodcleft Canal up through North Main Street and over to the Milburn Pond area. Bayview (originally Coe's Neck) and South Freeport sit on the canals — every stair rail here gets stainless 316 marine-grade hardware because the salt mist travels inland. The 1920s colonials along North Main Street and Randall Park are further inland and run standard installs with zinc brackets. Atlantic Avenue splits the village — north of it, stairs are wider and treads newer; south of it, pre-1940 homes with narrow 30-inch stairs are common. Every Freeport quote includes a pre-visit so we know which hardware spec applies before the rail ships.

Common Questions

Everything Freeport Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Freeport, NY?

A straight-rail stairlift in Freeport starts at $2,800 installed, covering the lift, rail, labor, 5-year warranty, and battery backup. Homes south of Atlantic Avenue get stainless 316 marine-grade hardware included in that price — we don't charge extra for it because salt-air from Woodcleft Canal and Milburn Pond makes it non-optional.

Does Medicare pay for a stairlift in Nassau County?

No. Medicare Parts A and B classify stairlifts as home modifications, not durable medical equipment, so there is no reimbursement anywhere in Nassau County. If you have a Medicare Advantage plan, check your Evidence of Coverage document — some MA plans include a small annual home-accessibility benefit of $250-$500.

Is financing available for Freeport homeowners?

Yes. Financing starts at $79/month with approved credit, with terms from 24 to 84 months and no prepayment penalty. We also accept check or credit card at the time of install. The written estimate shows the total financed cost and effective APR before you sign, so there are no surprises.

Are there hidden fees beyond the quoted price?

No. Our Freeport quote covers the lift, rail, all installation labor, battery backup, marine-grade hardware where needed, and the first-year service call. Power-swivel seats and custom upholstery are the only add-ons; both are listed line-by-line on the written estimate so you see every dollar before you commit.

A word from Luis

Salt-air is the first thing I assess on every Freeport job. Homes south of Atlantic Avenue — anything within a block of the canals in Bayview or off the Nautical Mile — get marine-grade hardware. Stainless 316, not 304. Standard zinc-plated brackets rust through in 18 months on a south-side canal house; I've replaced enough of them to know.

Nor'easter season means PSEG Long Island outages, and Freeport's own municipal power doesn't always hold when the surge hits Woodcleft Canal. Every rail I install here has a gel-cell backup rated for at least eight rides on a dead utility line. The battery is as important as the motor on a Long Island south-shore install.

North Freeport homes off Sunrise Highway are a different job entirely — further from the water, zinc brackets are fine, and the 1960s and 1970s colonials up there have wider 36-inch stairs and standard tread depths. Those installs run 3-4 hours from the truck to the test ride, which is about as fast as a residential stairlift install gets.

Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Freeport homes south of Atlantic Avenue need marine-grade hardware — don't let any installer tell you otherwise. If your quote doesn't spell out 316 stainless and IP55 sealing, call us for a second opinion before you sign. A straight-rail install on a North Main Street colonial takes one morning and the house is back to normal by lunch.

We'll walk you through the NHTD Waiver paperwork on the spot if you're Medicaid-eligible, and if you're a veteran served by the Northport VA Medical Center at 79 Middleville Road we'll pull the HISA $6,800 application together before we leave your kitchen.
