Straight Stairlift

Bestseller

The workhorse of Elk Grove's two-story tract homes — from Laguna West to Laguna Ridge. Over 70% of the stairlifts we install across Elk Grove are straight rails. The track bolts into your stair treads — never into the wall — the seat and footrest fold flat, and the battery backup keeps you moving through SMUD outages. Elk Grove's housing stock is remarkably uniform: 1990s and 2000s two-story homes with standard 13-15 foot straight runs and builder-grade carpet. Most installs wrap in under three hours.

Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Sacramento County

Sacramento County, CA

Elk Grove's housing stock works in your favor. The 1990s two-stories of Laguna West along the lakeside, the 2000s tract homes in Laguna Ridge and East Franklin, and the late-1990s custom builds in Elliott Ranch all share standard stud spacing, level treads, and 13–15 foot straight runs that install in under three hours. Where Elk Grove gets interesting is at the edges: the older cottages in Old Town with tile treads and narrower stairwells, the Sheldon ranch properties with raised front entries and outdoor step runs, and the HOA communities near Laguna West-Lakeside where we handle the reasonable-accommodation paperwork under California's Fair Employment and Housing Act. We also cover Florin, Vineyard, Parkway, and south Sacramento — all within 15 minutes of our coverage team.

Elliott Ranch custom home — straight rail on oak-stained hardwood treads

Elliott Ranch, CA Installed March 2026

A late-1990s custom home in Elliott Ranch with dark-stained oak treads, an open railing to the foyer below, and a homeowner who wanted the lift to disappear when not in use. We mounted a slim-profile straight rail with a beige seat that folds flat against the wall at the top landing, bolt caps stained to match the oak, and a folding footrest that clears the path for the grandchildren. The open-railing side meant the rail had to mount on the wall side only — standard for this floor plan. Mrs. Yamamoto Sr. rides it six times a day and calls it her elevator.

Laguna West two-story — curved rail with 90° turn past the upper landing

Laguna West, CA Installed February 2026

A 1993 two-story in Laguna West with a wide foyer staircase, a 90° turn at the upper landing, and a chandelier the homeowner asked us to leave untouched. Mrs. Patel had been diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy and could no longer feel the stair treads under her feet. We laser-scanned the staircase, fabricated a curved rail that threads past the upper newel post through the 90° turn, and installed a brown swivel-exit seat so she steps off directly onto the upstairs hallway carpet. The chandelier hangs exactly where it always has.

Old Town Elk Grove cottage — compact rail on stone-tile treads

Old Town Elk Grove, CA Installed January 2026

A 1950s cottage on the east side of Old Town Elk Grove — one of the few older homes in a city dominated by 1990s and 2000s construction. Narrow stairwell, original stone-tile treads, and a cozy landing that opens into an upstairs bedroom. Mr. Andersen is 79 and recovering from a hip fracture. The brown seat tucks against the wall, the compact footrest folds flat, and the masonry anchors we used on the tile treads are rated for the same load as standard wood-screw mounts. Mr. Andersen told us the stairs had been his biggest worry since the fracture — now he doesn't think about them at all.

Sheldon ranch property — outdoor lift on stone-paved front entry

Sheldon, CA Installed December 2025

A ranch-style home on a half-acre lot in Sheldon with a raised front entry, five concrete steps, and a stone-paved landing that sits in direct Central Valley sun from May through October. Mr. Rivera's father had been entering through the side garage door for over a year because the front steps were too much for his arthritic knees. We installed a weather-sealed outdoor rail with a cream seat, UV-resistant coating rated for Sacramento Valley summer heat, and a sealed IP55 motor housing that handles the tule fog moisture. Mr. Rivera Sr. used the front door the day we finished and hasn't gone through the garage since.

Laguna Ridge two-story — straight rail on builder-grade carpet

Laguna Ridge, CA Installed November 2025

A 2008 two-story in Laguna Ridge with standard builder-grade carpeted stairs and a homeowner who had just been discharged from Methodist Hospital of Sacramento after a stroke. Mrs. Washington's right side was weak and her physical therapist told the family she could not safely use stairs unassisted for at least three months. The brown seat and brown rail disappear against the neutral carpet. The battery backup is rated for 20 full trips — enough to cover her through a SMUD outage without worry.

Platform Lift

East Franklin split-level — indoor wheelchair platform lift

East Franklin, CA Installed October 2025

A 2003 split-level home in East Franklin where Mr. Torres uses a manual wheelchair after a below-knee amputation. The three-step rise from the garage entry to the main living level meant he had to transfer out of his chair, climb the steps holding the railing, and have his wife carry the chair up separately. We installed an indoor inclined platform lift with a flat deck, yellow safety edges on the platform and upper landing gate, and an automatic locking mechanism during travel. The lift runs on standard 120V power with battery backup. Mr. Torres rolls from the garage directly into the kitchen in his chair.

Common Questions

Everything Elk Grove Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Elk Grove right now?

Straight rails in standard Elk Grove homes — the two-story tract homes in Laguna West, Laguna Ridge, and East Franklin — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for homes with upper-landing turns run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor models rated for Central Valley heat run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices different in Elk Grove than Sacramento proper?

Equipment prices are identical across our Sacramento County coverage area — Elk Grove, Florin, Vineyard, south Sacramento, Rancho Cordova. What varies slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: tile treads in older Old Town cottages, outdoor installs requiring heat-rated components, or custom curved rails for the wider foyer staircases in Elliott Ranch homes. We itemize everything upfront. No zip-code markup.

Do you charge extra for Spanish-language service?

No. Luis conducts assessments in Spanish at your request — every printed quote, consent form, and operating manual is available in Spanish at zero surcharge. Elk Grove's growing Latino community, especially in the Laguna Ridge and East Franklin neighborhoods, deserves the same service quality in their preferred language.

Is there a travel fee for Elk Grove?

Zero travel fees anywhere inside our Sacramento County coverage area — Elk Grove, Florin, Vineyard, Parkway, south Sacramento, Rancho Cordova, and Lemon Hill. The assessment, the install crew, and the service tech are all local. No out-of-area surcharges, no mileage add-ons.

A word from Luis

Most Elk Grove families call me after something has already gone wrong — a fall on the carpeted stairs, a parent who stopped going upstairs three months ago, a spouse doing physical therapy after a hip replacement at Kaiser South Sacramento. The conversation is always the same: they waited too long and they know it.

What I tell every family in Elk Grove: a straight rail in a Laguna West or Laguna Ridge two-story takes under three hours to install. By dinner, the stairs are no longer the thing keeping your mother on the first floor. I measure once, hand you a written quote, and if you say yes, we install the same week. That is how this works — no surprises, no callbacks, no upsell.

— Luis Ramírez, Elk Grove
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

If your parent is avoiding the stairs in their Elk Grove home — sleeping in the den, skipping the upstairs bathroom, canceling the routine that kept them independent — that is the signal. A straight rail in most Laguna West, Laguna Ridge, or East Franklin two-stories installs in under three hours. A curved rail for an Elliott Ranch foyer staircase takes one afternoon after fabrication. By evening, the stairs are just stairs again.

Call for a free in-home assessment. Luis measures your staircase, answers every question at the kitchen table, and leaves you with a written quote honored for 30 days. No sales pitch. No follow-up pressure. Over 600 south Sacramento County families have already taken that step.
