Stairlift Service Across Sacramento County

Sacramento County, CA

From the 1880s-1920s Victorian and Craftsman blocks of Midtown, Boulevard Park, and the Curtis Park Historic District to the Tudor Revival bungalows of Land Park and the mid-century ranches lining the numbered streets of the Fab 40s in East Sacramento, we have mapped the stair geometry of every Sacramento submarket. We know which Pocket-Greenhaven cul-de-sacs are single-story ranches where an outdoor porch lift matters more than an interior rail. We know Natomas tract homes are almost all two-story stucco with a clean straight run from the foyer. Oak Park and Tahoe Park bungalows share the same narrow-stair geometry as Curtis Park. Spanish-language service at zero charge for South Sacramento, the Fruitridge corridor, and Del Paso Heights.

Natomas two-story — straight rail on oak treads from the foyer to the upper bedrooms

Natomas, CA Installed March 2026

A 2003 tract home in North Natomas, standard two-story stucco, 14-tread straight run from the tile foyer to the upstairs bedroom hall. Mrs. Delacroix, 77, had been sleeping on the family-room couch for five weeks after a knee replacement at Kaiser Morse Avenue. Her daughter called on a Monday; measured Tuesday and installed Friday. The rail bolts into the existing dark-stained oak treads, the beige-upholstered seat sits at the bottom near a small side table, and the warm wood tones of the staircase frame the unit. Battery backup sized for PG&E Power Safety Power Shutoff events. Install wrapped in 3 hours. Mrs. Delacroix slept in her own bed that night.

1912 Curtis Park Craftsman — curved rail around the original oak banister at the upper landing

Curtis Park, CA Installed February 2026

A 1912 Craftsman bungalow inside the Curtis Park Historic District, two blocks off the park. Center-hall plan, oak staircase climbing to a landing with a 90° turn, then up to three bedrooms. The quarter-sawn oak banister with square tapered spindles had been refinished once in the 1970s. Family instruction: do not touch the banister. We laser-scanned the stair on the first visit, fabricated a curved rail that bends around the half-wall at the upper landing, and parked the brown-upholstered seat at the top where Mrs. Whitfield steps off directly onto the hallway. Rail bolted entirely into stair treads. Not one spindle moved. The modern interior with framed art on the walls stays untouched.

Tahoe Park bungalow — straight rail in a compact traditional stairwell

Tahoe Park, CA Installed January 2026

A 1942 bungalow in Tahoe Park with a compact stairwell next to a wooden sideboard and family photos in the front hall — the kind of tight, character-rich space common in Sacramento's pre-war housing stock. Mr. Nakamura, 84, had stopped using the upstairs bedroom after a fall on the landing. The straight rail threads through the narrow space between the wall and the furniture at the bottom, with the brown-upholstered seat folding flush so the hallway stays passable. The original fir treads under a thin carpet runner anchor the rail securely. The cottage-like feel of the entry — warm tones, compact furniture, traditional layout — is completely preserved. Mr. Nakamura was back upstairs the same evening.

Land Park Tudor Revival — outdoor stairlift on 14 original concrete entry steps

Land Park, CA Installed December 2025

A 1936 Tudor Revival on the west side of Land Park Drive, three blocks off William Land Park. Front entry sits 14 concrete steps above sidewalk — original 1930s hardscape with rough stone paving and distinctive rounded edges. Mrs. Holloway, 81, had been parking in the alley and entering through the kitchen for a year because the front steps became impossible. The cream-colored outdoor seat sits at the stone-paved entry level, UV-stabilized for the west-facing afternoon sun. Spliced 16-foot exterior rail anchored into original concrete treads with stainless fasteners, battery sized for multi-hour PG&E PSPS outage. Install day, 9 hours on site. Mrs. Holloway rode up to the front porch the next morning and walked through her own front door for the first time in 14 months.

Oak Park bungalow — straight rail on carpeted stairs with swivel exit at the top landing

Oak Park, CA Installed November 2025

A 1924 bungalow in Oak Park with carpeted stairs connecting the main floor to the bedroom level. Mrs. Johnson, 76, had been sleeping on the living-room sofa for three months after knee surgery. Her granddaughter called from Elk Grove. The straight rail mounts through the carpet into the treads beneath — no carpet removal, no mess. The brown upholstery matches the warm carpet tones, and the seat folds flat at the landing so the stairs stay fully walkable. Wall-mounted light switches along the stairwell stayed untouched. The entire consultation and user-training walkthrough were conducted in Spanish at Mrs. Johnson's request. She was back upstairs the same evening.

Platform Lift

Pocket-Greenhaven split-level — indoor inclined wheelchair platform lift with yellow safety edges

Pocket-Greenhaven, CA Installed October 2025

A 1978 split-level off Riverside Boulevard in the Pocket — one of the few Pocket-Greenhaven homes that isn't single-story. Short half-flight from entry down to family room, second half-flight up to bedrooms. Sra. Ramírez, 79, had been managing both for years until a fall in August. Her son called Wednesday. Her husband now uses a power wheelchair after a stroke, and a seated stairlift would require two transfers per trip. We installed an indoor inclined wheelchair platform lift on the stairway — a flat black anti-slip platform with high-visibility yellow safety edges and a white handrail. The platform travels along the stair rail from the entry to the upper floor. Mr. Ramírez rolls his wheelchair onto the platform, presses one button, and rides up. Gate interlocks prevent movement unless both gates are closed. The entire consultation was conducted in Spanish at the kitchen table.

Common Questions

Everything Sacramento Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in Sacramento right now?

Straight rails inside a Natomas two-story, a Pocket-Greenhaven ranch with an interior stair, or a Tahoe Park bungalow run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails — common around the original oak banister of a Curtis Park Craftsman, a Boulevard Park Victorian, or a Land Park Tudor with a mid-landing turn — run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact stair geometry. Outdoor porch and stoop lifts for Fab 40s ranches and single-story homes in South Land Park run $4,500 to $8,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes the rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices higher in the Fab 40s or Land Park than in Natomas or Del Paso Heights?

Equipment prices are identical across every Sacramento ZIP. We do not inflate quotes for a 95816, 95818, or 95819 address. What varies is labor for unusual site conditions — historic banister preservation on an 1895 Poverty Ridge Victorian, a 14-step exterior run up a Land Park Tudor stoop, or a dedicated 120V circuit in a pre-1930 Craftsman with knob-and-tube wiring. Every line item appears on the written quote before you sign, never after.

Do you charge extra for Spanish-language service?

No. Our installer Luis is bilingual Spanish and English, so calls from Oak Park, South Sacramento, Del Paso Heights, and the Fruitridge corridor are conducted in Spanish on request at no surcharge. Every printed quote, consent form, and operating manual is available in Spanish, and the safety reference card on the chair is printed in both languages. For Russian, Hmong, and Mien-speaking families in North Highlands and South Sac, we schedule a phone interpreter on the home assessment and the user-training walkthrough at zero charge.

What should I expect to pay if my house is in a designated historic district?

Nothing extra for the equipment. The rails, motors, and seats price identically in Curtis Park, Boulevard Park, Newton Booth, Land Park, and the Fab 40s as they do in Natomas. What occasionally adds a modest labor line is a submission to the Sacramento Historic Preservation Commission for exterior-visible outdoor rail work in a designated district. Interior rails almost never trigger review because they are not visible from the public right-of-way. We prepare and submit the Preservation Commission paperwork at no charge — the only cost is the city's filing fee if one applies, and we disclose it on the written quote before you sign.

A word from Luis

Most Sacramento families call me after the first bad moment on the original oak banister of a Curtis Park Craftsman, on the 14 exterior steps up to a Land Park Tudor, or on the mid-landing turn of an 1890s Boulevard Park Victorian. The staircase that has worked for a hundred years stops working in a single July afternoon when the house is 105°F and the knees are done.

My job is simple: be at your house within 24 hours, laser-measure the stairs once, and leave you with a written quote honored for 30 days. No pressure, no upsells, no 'Fab 40s premium.' CSLB-licensed under C-61/D-34, verify us at cslb.ca.gov. En español si lo prefiere — South Sacramento, Oak Park, Del Paso Heights.
