We live in an Old Town adobe casita with hand-laid flagstone steps from the 1920s, every tread a different height. A stairlift that's medically prescribed can instead be covered through VA Prosthetics, which carries no set dollar cap.

Arizona's AzLAT program offers loans up to $20,000 at low interest specifically for stairlifts and similar equipment.
