Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Contra Costa County

Contra Costa County, CA

From Todos Santos near the downtown core — where the 1950s and early 1960s homes sit on smaller lots with steep, straight staircases — to Dana Estates on the south side, where the 1970s split-levels almost always have the mid-landing turn that requires a curved rail, our team has mapped every staircase pattern in Concord. We know which Cowell Ranch two-stories have the wide builder-standard stairs that install in three hours flat, which Four Corners ranches have the sunken living room that creates a trip hazard even for able-bodied visitors, and which Lime Ridge hillside homes need an outdoor weather-sealed rail for the garage-to-house entry.

1962 Todos Santos ranch — straight rail over original oak treads

Todos Santos, CA Installed March 2026

A 1962 tract ranch in Todos Santos with the standard builder-grade oak banister and 14 carpeted treads. Mrs. Nakamura's son drove down from Sacramento after she stopped going upstairs entirely following a dizzy spell. We measured on Tuesday, installed on Friday. The rail bolts into the treads without touching the banister, the folding seat leaves the full stair width for her visiting grandchildren, and the battery backup has already carried her through one PG&E public safety shutoff.

Dana Estates split-level — curved rail with 90-degree turn at the upper landing

Dana Estates, CA Installed February 2026

A 1973 split-level in Dana Estates where the staircase bends 90 degrees at the upper floor landing before opening onto the hallway. Mrs. Reyes's physical therapist had cleared her for independent stair use only with a mechanical assist after her second hip replacement. We laser-scanned the full run, fabricated a curved rail that follows the bend around the half-wall at the top, and parked the brown-upholstered seat at the upper landing where she steps off directly onto level hallway carpet. The swivel-exit seat rotates away from the stairs so she faces the hall, not the drop. The chandelier above the landing stayed untouched — clearance was tight but the rail profile threads under it with two inches to spare.

Four Corners cottage — straight rail on stone treads beside the hallway sideboard

Four Corners, CA Installed January 2026

A compact 1960s cottage in Four Corners with stone-tiled stair treads and a narrow hallway where a wooden sideboard with a potted plant sits right next to the bottom landing. Mrs. Abramov needed the seat to fold completely flat so the hallway stayed passable for her walker. We mounted a straight rail into the stone treads using masonry-rated anchors, positioned the bottom charge station so the folded seat tucks against the wall beside the cabinet, and confirmed the clearance with her walker on install day. The traditional cottage interior stayed intact — no furniture had to move.

Lime Ridge hillside — outdoor lift over stone-paved porch entry

Lime Ridge, CA Installed December 2025

A hillside home near Lime Ridge with a stone-paved front entry and seven steps from the driveway up to the covered porch and front door. Mr. Patel's father moved in after a stroke and the rough natural stone pavers made even the handrail grip unreliable in wet weather. We anchored the outdoor rail into the stone paving with masonry bolts, installed a weather-sealed cream seat with a vinyl cover for the rainy months, and positioned the top landing so he steps off onto the covered porch directly in front of the door. The IP55 motor housing and UV coating have handled a full cycle of Concord's inland heat and winter rain without a service call.

Cowell Ranch two-story — straight rail on carpeted stairs with matching upholstery

Cowell Ranch, CA Installed November 2025

A 1980s two-story in Cowell Ranch with wall-to-wall carpeted stairs and a small landing halfway up where the family keeps a light switch panel. Mrs. Chen wanted the stairlift to blend in rather than stand out. We specified the brown-upholstered seat that matches the warm carpet tones, drilled through the carpet into the wood sub-treads with precision pilot holes, and mounted the rail so the folded seat sits flush against the wall at the landing. The carpet-covered treads stayed fully intact — no stripping, no re-laying. Her grandchildren still use the stairs on both sides of the rail without any obstruction.

Platform Lift

Todos Santos home — indoor wheelchair platform lift for a power-chair user

Todos Santos, CA Installed October 2025

A remodeled two-story near Todos Santos Plaza where Mrs. Griffith uses a power wheelchair after a progressive neurological condition made transfers to a standard stairlift seat impossible. Her family had been carrying her upstairs in the chair — dangerous for everyone. We installed an indoor inclined wheelchair platform with a flat black anti-slip deck, bright yellow high-visibility safety edges on all sides, and interlocked gates at both levels that won't open until the platform is fully stopped. The white handrail runs the full length of the platform for a caregiver to hold during the ride. The orange-toned hallway walls and window at the landing stayed untouched — the platform threads up the indoor stairway without any structural modification. Mrs. Griffith rolls on at the bottom and rolls off at the top without ever leaving her chair.

Common Questions

Everything Concord Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in Contra Costa County right now?

Straight rails in standard Concord homes — the tract ranches, the two-story colonials, the Cowell Ranch subdivisions — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails, which you'll need for Dana Estates split-levels, hillside Lime Ridge entries, and any staircase with a turn, run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact geometry. Outdoor models for raised entries and hillside garage-to-house transitions run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices different in Concord than San Francisco or Oakland?

Equipment prices are the same across the Bay Area — we don't inflate quotes for Walnut Creek or Danville addresses. What varies slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: hillside entries in Lime Ridge that require outdoor-rated hardware, split-level configurations in Dana Estates, and the occasional electrical upgrade in a 1960s tract home that still runs its original panel. We tell you the line items upfront. No surprise 'East Bay premiums.'

Is a used or refurbished stairlift worth considering?

For straight staircases, a certified refurbished unit can save 30-40% off new — we carry factory-reconditioned straight rails with new upholstery, new batteries, and a 2-year warranty. For curved rails, refurbished is almost never an option because the rail is custom-manufactured to a specific staircase geometry. If your Concord home has a standard straight run, ask us during the assessment. We'll tell you honestly whether the savings justify it for your staircase.

Do you charge extra for HOA or 55+ community paperwork?

No. Our quote includes the HOA accommodation packet we prepare for you. California's Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA) requires HOAs to grant reasonable accommodations for residents with documented disabilities — this is stronger than the federal standard. We've worked with HOAs across the Contra Costa planned communities and retirement neighborhoods. If a board requires an ARB hearing, we attend at no extra charge.

A word from Luis

Most Concord families call me after the same conversation — a parent tripped on the sunken living room step in a 1960s tract ranch, a spouse hasn't been upstairs since the hip replacement, a grown child in San Francisco worried about mom aging alone in the Dana Estates house she's owned since 1972.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that's honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells.
