Stairlift Service Across Contra Costa County

Contra Costa County, CA

Bay Point sits at the eastern edge of Contra Costa County where the delta flats meet the low hills. The tract homes built between 1955 and 1975 along Bailey Road and Willow Pass Road share a common blueprint: single-story or split-level, 12 to 14 stair treads, original hardwood or carpeted risers. Near Ambrose Park the lots are larger and the homes trend toward raised ranches with exterior entry steps that need outdoor-rated lifts. Along Port Chicago Highway the housing mix includes duplexes and small multi-family buildings where landlord coordination is required under California FEHA. We also serve Pittsburg, Concord, Clayton, Pleasant Hill, and Martinez — all within 15 minutes of Bay Point.

1965 Bailey Road ranch — straight rail color-matched to original oak treads

Bailey Road, CA Installed March 2026

A 1965 ranch on Bailey Road with original oak stair treads maintained in excellent condition for 60 years. Mrs. Moreno's daughter called from Sacramento after her mother's hip replacement. We measured on Tuesday, installed Thursday. The hardwood-finish rail was selected on-site to match the oak grain, bolted into the treads without touching the banister, and the folding seat parks at the bottom landing beside the hall table. The family wanted a lift that would disappear when not in use — the folded seat leaves 27 inches of stair width for grandchildren to pass.

Ambrose Park split-level — curved rail through 90° landing, single ride to bedrooms

Ambrose Park, CA Installed February 2026

A 1970 split-level near Ambrose Park with the classic East County layout — five steps from the entry to the main floor, a 90-degree landing turn, then eight more steps to the bedrooms. We laser-scanned the full geometry, fabricated a curved rail that carries Mr. Castillo from the front door to the upper hallway in one continuous ride, and installed a swivel-exit seat at the top. The brown-upholstered chair parks flush at the upper landing beside the framed family photos. Two competitors had quoted two separate lifts with a mid-landing transfer — we did it in one rail.

Bay Point tract home — compact straight rail beside a sideboard on stone-tile treads

Bay Point, CA Installed January 2026

A 1958 tract home with stone-tile stair treads and a wooden sideboard at the base of the staircase that Mrs. Nguyen would not move. The compact stairway is typical of Bay Point's postwar construction — narrow footprint, furniture close to the landing, traditional finishes. We mounted the straight rail on the right side using masonry anchors, positioned the seat so it parks beside the sideboard with the potted plant still in place, and the folding footrest clears the hallway completely. The brown seat blends with the earthy stone-tile tones.

Willow Pass Road raised entry — outdoor lift on stone paving, VA-funded

Willow Pass Road, CA Installed December 2025

A raised front entry on Willow Pass Road with seven exterior stone-paved steps between the driveway and the covered front porch. Mr. Warren is a Vietnam-era veteran who qualified for a HISA grant through the Martinez VA Outpatient Clinic. The cream-colored weather-resistant seat mounts on a galvanized rail anchored directly into the stone paving, with an IP55-sealed motor housing. Contra Costa County's inland heat and summer wind events required UV-stabilized upholstery and corrosion-resistant hardware. The carpeted outdoor tread at the bottom provides grip in wet conditions. The $6,800 HISA grant covered the majority of the installation cost.

Bay Point 1972 ranch — straight rail on carpeted stairs with seat matching carpet tones

Bay Point, CA Installed November 2025

A 1972 ranch with deep-pile carpet over the stair treads and a tiled landing at the bottom — the standard layout in hundreds of Bay Point tract homes from that era. Mr. Garcia needed the lift before his scheduled knee surgery at John Muir Medical Center in Concord. We used extended lag bolts to penetrate through the carpet and padding into the structural subfloor, torque-tested every anchor, and specified the brown-upholstery seat that blends with the warm carpet tones. The seat parks at the landing beside the wall-mounted light switches, and the folding footrest keeps the stairway clear.

Platform Lift

Ambrose Park split-level — indoor wheelchair platform lift for a power chair user

Ambrose Park, CA Installed October 2025

A 1968 split-level near Ambrose Park with a five-step interior rise between the garage entry and the main living level. Mrs. Rivera's father uses a power wheelchair full-time and cannot transfer to a seated stairlift. We installed an indoor inclined platform lift with a flat black anti-slip platform surface, bright yellow high-visibility pressure-sensitive safety edges on all sides, and a white handrail for added security. The platform carries the wheelchair and occupant from the lower level to the main floor in one smooth ride. The family had been told by three other companies that a wheelchair user could not navigate their split-level stairs. The $6,800 VA HISA grant covered the majority of the cost.

Common Questions

Everything Bay Point Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Bay Point right now?

Straight rails in Bay Point's standard tract homes — the postwar ranches along Willow Pass Road, the split-entries near Ambrose Park — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for homes with landing turns or multi-level entry stairs run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact geometry. Outdoor models for raised front entries and exterior steps run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Is the in-home assessment really free?

Yes — no charge and no obligation. Luis drives to your Bay Point home, measures the staircase with a laser, photographs the layout, identifies the right rail type, and leaves a written quote before he goes. For curved-rail projects, that measurement data goes straight to fabrication — it's a working visit, not a sales call. You take the quote, compare it, and call when you're ready. No follow-up pressure.

Are there financing options for Bay Point homeowners?

Yes. Three lending partners offer 0% APR for qualified buyers and low fixed-rate plans from $79 per month. The application is a soft credit pull — no impact on your score — and approval is typically instant. Many Contra Costa families combine financing with a VA HISA grant or partial Medi-Cal HCBA benefit to reduce the total out-of-pocket. We model the numbers during the free assessment.

Does it cost more for older Bay Point homes with original stairs?

Equipment pricing is the same regardless of home age. What can vary slightly is labor: compensating for wear on original treads in 1950s tract homes, adding a dedicated electrical circuit in homes that still run a 60-amp panel, or coordinating landlord approval for multi-unit properties along Port Chicago Highway. Every variable shows up on the written quote before we start. No surprise invoices.

A word from Luis

Bay Point is the kind of community where people stay. The families I work with in the Ambrose Park area have been in their homes since the 1960s — original owners, original hardwood treads, sometimes original wiring. When their knees go or a hip replacement changes the equation, they don't want to sell. They want to stay on the street where they raised their kids. My job is to drive out from Concord, measure the staircase, and give them a price they can plan around. No surprises.

Contra Costa County also has a significant veteran population. If you served, the VA HISA grant covers up to $6,800 toward a stairlift — I prefill the paperwork and coordinate with the VA Palo Alto system directly. You shouldn't have to navigate the VA alone just to stay safe in your own house.
