Stairlift Service Across Contra Costa County

Contra Costa County, CA

From Old Town Pittsburg near the waterfront — where pre-1960 bungalows have steep, narrow stairways with settled foundations from the Columbia Steel era — to the Highland Meadows subdivisions where 1980s–1990s tract homes have carpeted stairs we’ve measured so many times we know the rail length from the address, our team has mapped every staircase pattern in the city. We know which San Marco floor plans have the open-tread staircase where homeowners want a slim-profile rail, which Stoneman Park homes sit on old Camp Stoneman grading with subtle tread-level variations, and which Bay Point split-level entries require a curved rail. We also cover Antioch, Concord, Clayton, Oakley, Brentwood, and Bethel Island — no travel surcharges.

Highland Meadows tract — straight rail on dark hardwood treads, high-heat spec

Highland Meadows, CA Installed March 2026

A 1989 two-story in Highland Meadows with dark hardwood oak treads and an open staircase running from the ground-floor entry to the upper bedrooms. The beige seat parks at the bottom of the stairs, the straight rail bolts to the right side of the dark wood treads, and the sealed motor uses high-heat lubricant rated for the west-facing stairwell that hits 120°F in August. Mrs. Nguyen slept in her own bedroom for the first time in six weeks the night of the install.

Old Town bungalow — curved rail bends 90° at the upper landing

Old Town, CA Installed February 2026

A 1940s bungalow in Old Town Pittsburg near the waterfront with steep stairs and a 90-degree turn at the upper landing. The curved rail bends around the half-wall at the top and the brown-upholstered seat parks on the upper floor, letting Mr. Washington step off directly onto the hallway. Foundation settlement after 80 years on delta clay meant we shimmed every bracket to level. The sealed motor handles the humidity that rolls in from the river three blocks away.

Stoneman Park cottage — straight rail in a compact stairway with tile treads

Stoneman, CA Installed January 2026

A 1975 two-story on the old Camp Stoneman footprint with stone-tile treads and a wooden sideboard at the base of the stairs. Three generations share this compact home, so clearance was critical. The brown-upholstered seat sits near the cabinet and potted plant at the bottom landing, folding flat when not in use. Luis conducted the assessment bilingually — Spanish with Sra. Gutiérrez, English with her grandson for the paperwork. The post-war grading had left treads slightly off-level; we shimmed the brackets to compensate.

Outdoor

Old Town waterfront — outdoor lift on stone-paved porch entry

Old Town, CA Installed December 2025

An older home near the Pittsburg waterfront with a raised front porch, rough natural stone paving at the entry, and six exterior steps leading to the front door. Mr. Kowalski is a veteran who qualified for a HISA grant through VA Martinez. The cream-colored outdoor seat is weather-sealed against delta humidity, UV-coated for the East County sun, and anchored to the stone-paved entry with marine-grade hardware. HISA covered $6,800 of the total cost.

San Marco — straight rail on carpeted stairs, slim-profile for HOA approval

San Marco, CA Installed November 2025

A 1993 two-story in San Marco with brown-carpeted stairs and a landing where the carpet tones match the seat upholstery. Mrs. Reyes wanted the lift invisible when parked. The slim-profile rail mounts wall-side so the brown-upholstered chair parks flush at the landing. The HOA approved the FEHA accommodation request in nine days. The carpet was never cut, the wall-mounted light switches stayed in place, and the tiled floor at the bottom of the landing was left untouched.

Platform Lift

Highland Meadows — inclined wheelchair platform lift for a full-time chair user

Highland Meadows, CA Installed October 2025

Mrs. Foster uses a wheelchair full-time after her knee replacement at Kaiser Antioch and cannot transfer to a seated stairlift. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift in the indoor stairway — a flat black anti-slip platform with high-visibility yellow safety edges and a white handrail. She rolls her wheelchair onto the platform, engages the safety rail, and rides from the ground floor to her bedroom without leaving her chair. The orange-toned walls and window at the upper landing required precise bracket placement to keep the platform flush when parked.

Common Questions

Everything Pittsburg Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in Pittsburg right now?

Straight rails in standard Pittsburg homes — the two-stories in Highland Meadows, San Marco, and the subdivisions along Bailey Road — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Because many Pittsburg tract homes were built from the same handful of floor plans, our measurement and install process is faster than older-construction cities, which keeps cost at the lower end of that range. Curved rails for Old Town split-landings and Bay Point split-level entries run $9,000 to $15,000. Outdoor models run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices different in Pittsburg than in central Contra Costa like Walnut Creek or Concord?

Equipment prices are the same across the Bay Area. What is actually cheaper in Pittsburg for most homes is install labor — the tract-home staircase uniformity in Highland Meadows and San Marco means we have installed in your floor plan before. We do not inflate quotes for zip code and we do not discount for East County. Line items are on the quote.

Do you charge extra for Spanish-language service?

No. Every East Contra Costa assessment can be conducted in Spanish at your request — Luis is bilingual and has worked extensively with the Hispanic community in Pittsburg, Antioch, Bay Point, and Oakley. Over 40% of Pittsburg is Hispanic or Latino, and we handle dozens of bilingual consultations a year. Every printed quote, consent form, and operating manual is available in Spanish. Zero surcharge.

Any hidden fees for HOA installs in newer Pittsburg subdivisions?

Our quote includes the HOA paperwork we handle for you. California’s FEHA requires associations to grant reasonable accommodations for residents with documented disabilities — this is stronger than federal FHA. We provide the FEHA accommodation-request packet at no charge and have worked with HOAs in Highland Meadows, San Marco, and the master-planned communities in nearby Brentwood.

A word from Luis

Most Pittsburg families call me after the same story — a parent tripped on the carpeted stairs in a Highland Meadows two-story, a grandmother in an Old Town bungalow hasn’t been upstairs since the hip replacement, a grown son in San Francisco worried about his father alone in a San Marco house he’s owned since 1986.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that’s honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
