Stairlift Service Across Plymouth County

Plymouth County, MA

From the older Cape Cods and cottages clustered near North Carver center — where homes built in the 1940s and 1950s sit on wooded lots along Tremont Street with steep, narrow staircases original to their construction — to the ranch-style homes along Plymouth Street in South Carver with single straight runs and carpeted treads, our team has measured staircases across every corner of this 40-square-mile town. East Carver's colonials near the Wareham line often have wide, carpeted stairs that take a standard rail without modifications. The newer homes in Meadowbrook Estates and along Forest Street feature open floor plans with wider treads and modern banister placements. Center Carver's historic homes near the Town Hall area have hardwood treads and tight stairwells that require our slim-profile rail to preserve 19 inches of clearance.

1952 North Carver Cape Cod — straight rail on original hardwood treads

North Carver, MA Installed March 2026

A 1952 Cape Cod near North Carver center with 13 original hardwood treads and a painted wooden banister. Mrs. Murphy had been sleeping in the downstairs den for three weeks after knee replacement surgery at Beth Israel Plymouth because the steep stairs to the second-floor bedrooms were too risky. We drove out the next morning, laser-measured the 14-foot run, confirmed the dense hardwood treads could accept the mounting hardware without splitting, and installed the same week. The rail parks flush against the wall at the bottom. Mrs. Murphy slept in her own bedroom that night for the first time in a month.

1968 Center Carver split-entry — curved rail through a 90° landing turn

Center Carver, MA Installed February 2026

A 1968 split-entry ranch near Carver center with five steps from the garage entry to the living area, a 90-degree landing, then ten more steps to the bedrooms. Mr. Larson is a retired Army veteran who has lived in this house since 1985. We laser-scanned the full run on the first visit, fabricated a single curved rail that carries him from the garage level to the upper hallway without stopping, and installed a swivel-exit seat so he steps off onto carpet instead of balancing on the top tread. His VA provider at the Brockton VA Medical Center wrote the HISA prescription and the grant covered $6,800 of the cost.

1946 South Carver ranch — slim-profile rail on steep original staircase

South Carver, MA Installed January 2026

A 1946 ranch on Plymouth Street in South Carver with a steep, narrow staircase only 31 inches wide between the original banister and the plaster wall. The home was built when Carver's cranberry industry was booming and the stairs were sized for efficiency, not comfort. We installed a slim-profile rail that folds to just 11 inches from the wall, leaving 20 inches of clear passage. We never touched the original banister or baseboard trim. Mrs. Harrington's visiting nurse said it was the cleanest install she'd seen in Plymouth County.

East Carver colonial — outdoor lift on icy front entry steps

East Carver, MA Installed December 2025

A colonial near the Wareham line in East Carver with a raised front entry and six concrete steps that ice over every winter. Mrs. Kelley slipped on the top step during a February nor'easter and fractured her wrist. Her son called us while she was still at Beth Israel Plymouth. We measured the entry steps, installed the outdoor lift with heated rail contacts to prevent ice buildup, marine-grade stainless fasteners to resist the freeze-thaw cycle, and a fitted cover. The battery backup kept the lift running through two power outages that winter. Mrs. Kelley has not worried about those steps since.

Meadowbrook Estates colonial — straight rail, same-week install

Meadowbrook Estates, MA Installed November 2025

A newer colonial in Meadowbrook Estates with a standard 36-inch-wide staircase and carpeted treads. Mr. Patterson's daughter called on Monday from out of state, we measured Tuesday morning, and the install crew arrived Thursday. The rail bolts through the carpet into the wooden treads beneath — no carpet removal, no damage to the pile. The seat folds flat against the wall, and the wider treads in this newer construction made it one of the cleanest installs we have done in Carver. Mr. Patterson says knowing the stairs are handled when he gets home from errands changed everything.

Platform Lift

Plymouth Street home — inclined wheelchair platform lift with yellow safety edges

Plymouth Street, MA Installed October 2025

A two-story home on Plymouth Street where Mr. Walsh uses a power wheelchair full-time after a service-connected injury. A seated stairlift was not an option — he needed to ride his chair between floors. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift along the indoor stairway: a flat black anti-slip platform with yellow high-visibility safety edges on all thresholds, white handrails, and a keyed lockout so visiting grandchildren cannot activate it unsupervised. The HISA grant covered the full $6,800 service-connected maximum, and the MassHealth Frail Elder Waiver covered the remaining balance through his ASAP case manager at Old Colony Elder Services. Mr. Walsh rolls onto the platform, presses one button, and rides the incline to the upper floor without ever leaving his chair.

Common Questions

Everything Carver Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Carver, MA?

Straight rails in standard Carver homes — the Cape Cods near North Carver center, the ranches along Plymouth Street, the colonials in East Carver — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for split-entry ranches and landing turns run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor models for raised front entries and bulkhead stairs run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices different from Plymouth or Middleborough?

Equipment prices are identical across southeastern Massachusetts — we do not inflate or discount based on distance. What varies slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: steep pre-war treads in North Carver cottages, split-entry fabrication, and the freeze-rated lubricant and winterized motor housing we spec as standard on every Carver install (those are baseline, not upcharges). We list every line item on the written quote so you see exactly what you're paying for.

Is a stairlift cheaper than moving to a single-story home?

Moving costs in Plymouth County — real estate commission, closing costs, packing, new deposit — typically run $20,000 to $40,000 minimum in today's market. Carver's property values have climbed steadily and homes sit on large lots families don't want to leave. A straight stairlift installs in under four hours for $2,800 to $5,500 and lets you stay in the home you've lived in for decades, near the doctors and neighbors you already know. For most Carver families, the stairlift costs less than the real estate commission alone.

Do you offer financing in Carver?

Yes. We offer fixed-rate financing from $79 per month with no prepayment penalties. Most Carver homeowners choose 36- or 60-month terms. You can also combine financing with VA HISA grant funds, MassHealth Frail Elder Waiver coverage, or the Home Modification Loan Program (HMLP) through MassAbility to reduce or eliminate out-of-pocket cost. We walk you through every option during the free assessment.

A word from Luis

Carver homeowners call when the stairs become the thing standing between them and the life they've built — a grandmother who stopped visiting the upstairs bedrooms in her cranberry-country Cape because her knees gave out after decades of walking the bogs, a retired foreman whose split-entry ranch on Main Street has five steps he can no longer manage after back surgery at Beth Israel Plymouth.

My job is direct: I drive to your house within 24 hours, laser-measure the staircase, and hand you a written quote good for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
