Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Adams County

Adams County, CO

From the postwar brick ranches along Tennyson Street — where 1950s homes on 6,000-square-foot lots line the blocks between West 72nd and West 80th avenues — to the newer builds east of Lowell Boulevard near the Westminster border, our crew has measured staircases across every Berkley block. Homes along Stuart Street and Utica Street feature the classic 1955–1965 ranch layouts with single-flight basement stairs ideal for straight rails. Properties near Federal Boulevard on the eastern edge sit closer to I-76 and tend toward bi-level and split-level plans from the late 1960s with mid-landing turns. The blocks south of West 72nd near the Denver border share housing stock with the Berkeley neighborhood across the city line.

1957 Stuart Street brick ranch — straight rail on basement stairs

Berkley, CO Installed March 2026

A 1957 brick ranch on Stuart Street with a standard straight-run basement staircase — 12 hardwood treads, 36 inches wide. Mrs. Brennan, 74, had her hip replaced at St. Anthony North and her husband called us the week before surgery. We bolted the brackets into the treads, mounted a brown-upholstered seat that folds flat at the top landing, and installed a lithium battery rated for Colorado's 5,280-foot altitude. She rode the lift to the basement laundry room the morning after she came home from rehab.

Curved

1966 bi-level near Federal Boulevard — curved rail through the landing turn

Berkley, CO Installed February 2026

A 1966 bi-level on the eastern side of Berkley near Federal Boulevard with the classic Front Range layout: five treads up from the foyer to a landing, a 90-degree turn, then seven more treads to the bedroom floor. Two national chains told Mrs. Montoya, 86, the turn was too tight for a curved rail. We laser-scanned the entire run, fabricated a curved rail with a factory-welded bend at the landing, and installed a swivel-exit seat so she steps off onto the hallway carpet instead of the top tread.

1960s Lowell Boulevard ranch — slim-profile rail on narrow original treads

Berkley, CO Installed January 2026

A 1962 ranch near Lowell Boulevard with narrow original hardwood treads — 33 inches wide and steep by modern standards. Mr. Kowalczyk, a retired engineer, insisted on watching every bolt go in. We spec'd the slim-profile model with the compact footrest, confirmed 21 inches of clear passage remained, and bolted the brackets into the hardwood without splitting a single tread. The lithium battery handles Colorado altitude with no capacity loss.

Outdoor

Tennyson Street ranch — weather-sealed outdoor rail on front porch steps

Berkley, CO Installed December 2025

A 1955 ranch on Tennyson Street with five concrete porch steps that ice over every winter during chinook freeze-thaw cycles. Mr. Reyes fell on those steps last January and stopped using the front door entirely. We anchor-bolted a weather-sealed outdoor rail into the concrete with wind-rated anchors carrying through the tread into the poured footer, sealed the motor housing to IP55, and installed a cold-weather lithium battery rated to -20°F. He rides from the walkway to the porch in any weather.

Berkley ranch — straight basement rail for an Air Force veteran

Berkley, CO Installed November 2025

A 1958 ranch where Mr. Washington, a retired Air Force staff sergeant, needed a basement rail after knee surgery. The VA HISA grant covered the bulk of the cost — we handled all paperwork with the Rocky Mountain Regional VAMC in Aurora. The basement staircase is a clean 12-tread straight run with vinyl-wrapped treads. We bolted the rail into the treads, mounted the seat, and installed the altitude-rated lithium battery. He was back in the basement den the next morning.

Platform Lift

Berkley ranch — inclined wheelchair platform lift between floors

Berkley, CO Installed October 2025

A Berkley ranch where Mr. Chen, 66, uses a power wheelchair full-time after a spinal cord injury. A seated stairlift was not an option — he needed to ride between the main floor and the finished basement in his chair. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift with a flat black anti-slip platform and yellow high-visibility safety edges along the perimeter. The unit runs on a track mounted to the stairwell wall and carries the wheelchair and occupant between floors. His OT from Adams County disability services signed off on the install.

Common Questions

Everything Berkley Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Berkley right now?

Straight rails in standard Berkley homes — the 1950s brick ranches along Tennyson and Stuart, the split-levels near Federal Boulevard, the bi-levels east of Lowell — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Most Berkley jobs are straight basement runs that land at the lower end of that range. Curved rails for split-level landing turns run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor weather-sealed models for front porch steps run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, lithium battery (standard at Colorado altitude), and the first service visit.

Are prices different in Berkley than Westminster or Arvada?

Equipment prices are the same across Adams County and the surrounding Front Range — we do not inflate quotes based on neighborhood. What can add cost is unusual conditions: a new dedicated circuit in a 1950s ranch that still has the original two-prong wiring, a multi-landing curved rail in a bi-level near Federal Boulevard, or a wind-rated outdoor rail anchor on a porch exposed to chinook gusts. We show you every line item upfront.

Does Colorado Medicaid cover stairlifts?

Yes, through the Elderly, Blind and Disabled (EBD) Waiver administered by the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing. Stairlifts qualify as home modifications under a $14,000 lifetime cap. Eligibility requires Colorado residency, age 65+ or adult disability, Health First Colorado (Medicaid) financial eligibility, and an assessment at nursing-facility level of care. The entry point is your county Single Entry Point agency — for Adams County, that is Adams County Human Services at 720-523-2000. We structure the quote to stay inside the cap whenever possible and handle the authorization paperwork with your SEP case manager.

Is a used or refurbished stairlift a good option for a Berkley home?

A factory-refurbished straight rail can save 30–40% over new — typically $1,800 to $3,200 installed for a standard Berkley ranch basement staircase. We inspect, re-certify, and warranty refurbished units the same as new: 3 years parts, lifetime rail. One caveat at altitude: we replace the sealed lead-acid battery with a lithium cell even on refurbished units because SLA batteries lose 15–18% capacity at 5,280 feet. Curved rails are almost never available refurbished because every curved rail is custom-fabricated. If your stairs are a clean straight run, ask about refurbished options during the free assessment.

A word from Luis

Most Berkley calls come after a close call on the stairs — a slip on the basement steps in a 1955 brick ranch along Tennyson Street, a father who stopped going downstairs after a knee replacement at St. Anthony North, a daughter in Denver worried about her mother navigating the front porch steps every winter when the ice comes off the Rockies.

My job is straightforward: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a written quote honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
