Stairlift Service Across Jefferson County

Jefferson County, CO

From the mid-century ranches of Green Mountain Estates — where 1960s walk-out basements with mountain views were built for young families, not the retirees still in them 60 years later — to the 1970s split-levels of Eiber and Morse Park with their signature five-step-landing-turn-eight-step layout, our team has mapped every staircase profile in the city. We know which O'Kane Park bi-levels have the dense Berber carpet requiring longer anchor shanks, which Bear Creek ranches have south-facing porches needing UV-stable outdoor hardware and wind-rated anchors for Chinook events, and which Belmar-area townhomes from the 2005 redevelopment have wider post-2000 stairs that install in three hours flat. One municipality, one building department, no surprise jurisdictional handoffs.

Green Mountain Estates ranch — straight rail on original hardwood oak treads

Green Mountain Estates, CO Installed March 2026

A 1965 ranch in Green Mountain Estates with a walk-out basement, original oak treads, and the classic bi-level layout where the living area sits uphill for mountain views while the bedrooms are at garden level. Mrs. Kowalski had been sleeping on the living room couch for three weeks after a hip replacement at St. Anthony Hospital rather than attempt the 12 steps down to her bedroom. We bolted a straight rail into the oak treads, ran the wiring along the stringer, and mounted the seat so it parks folded at the upper landing out of the hallway path. At 5,800 feet elevation, we swapped the standard sealed lead-acid battery for a lithium cell — altitude degrades lead-acid capacity by 15-20%. Three hours, and Mrs. Kowalski slept in her own bed that night.

1972 Eiber split-level — curved rail through the upper landing turn

Eiber, CO Installed February 2026

A 1972 split-level in the Eiber neighborhood with the layout every Lakewood installer knows by heart: five steps from the entry to the main living area, a 90-degree landing turn, then eight more steps up to the bedrooms. Two other companies told the Novaks they'd need two separate lifts. We laser-scanned the entire run, fabricated a single curved rail that carries from the entry through the landing turn to the upstairs hallway, and installed a swivel-exit seat at the top so Mr. Novak steps off onto the hallway floor instead of the top tread. The 1970s foundation had settled about a quarter-inch over 54 years — we shimmed the rail brackets to compensate so the ride is perfectly level.

Morse Park bungalow — straight rail on stone-trimmed cottage stairs

Morse Park, CO Installed January 2026

A 1948 bungalow in Morse Park that had been renovated in the early 2000s with flagstone-capped interior stairs from the main level to a finished lower level. The stone caps were solid but standard wood-screw anchors wouldn't bite. We used concrete expansion anchors rated for the stone substrate, drilled pilot holes with a masonry bit to avoid cracking the flagstone, and ran a standard straight rail from the main living area down to the lower level where Mrs. Pearson keeps her home office and craft room. She's 78 and had been hauling bins of quilting fabric up and down those stone steps for years — her daughter said watching her ride down with a project bag on her lap was the best $3,200 she'd ever spent.

Bear Creek entry — outdoor lift on stone-paved front steps

Bear Creek, CO Installed December 2025

A 1970s ranch near Bear Creek Lake Park with six exterior stone-paved entry steps, a covered front porch, and south-facing exposure. Mr. Sandoval is a retired Army veteran who served at Fort Carson and qualified for a HISA grant through the Rocky Mountain Regional VAMC in Aurora — we prefilled VA Form 10-0103 and the prescription came back in four weeks. The outdoor rail is anchored through the stone pavers into the concrete footer with wind-rated bolts (Front Range downslope winds regularly hit 85 mph in Jefferson County), the motor housing is IP55-sealed, and the cream seat material is UV-stable for Colorado's high-altitude sun. Toda la consulta fue en español — la familia lo prefirió así.

O'Kane Park bi-level — straight rail on carpeted stairs to lower bedrooms

O'Kane Park, CO Installed November 2025

A 1968 bi-level near O'Kane Park with fully carpeted stairs from the main level down to three lower-level bedrooms. The carpet was a 1990s Berber replacement, dense enough that standard tread bolts needed longer shanks to reach the plywood substrate. We pulled back the carpet at each anchor point, drilled through into the plywood treads, and secured the rail so the Berber sits flush around each bracket. No carpet removal, no re-stretching. Mr. Walsh had been using a cane on those stairs since a knee replacement — his wife said the first week with the lift was the first week in two years she didn't listen for a fall from the kitchen.

Platform Lift

Belmar-area townhome — indoor wheelchair platform lift with yellow safety edges

Belmar, CO Installed October 2025

A 2005 townhome in the Belmar redevelopment district where Mr. Trujillo uses a power wheelchair after a construction accident left him with a T-8 spinal cord injury. A standard seat lift would not work — he needed to ride the chair itself between floors. We installed an enclosed indoor inclined platform lift adjacent to the main staircase with a flat anti-slip platform, high-visibility yellow safety edges, and a white handrail per ADA guidelines. The lift runs on a track bolted to the wall framing, carries 750 lbs including the chair, and locks at both levels with keyed controls. Mr. Trujillo said the lift gave him his upstairs home office back, and his commute is now 30 seconds instead of impossible.

Common Questions

Everything Lakewood Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Lakewood right now?

Straight rails for standard Lakewood homes — the Green Mountain bi-levels, the Eiber ranches, the O'Kane Park split-levels — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for staircases with a mid-landing turn (the majority of 1960s-1970s Lakewood bi-levels) run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured from a laser scan of your exact staircase. Outdoor lifts with wind-rated anchors and altitude-rated batteries run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery, and first service visit.

Why does every Lakewood install get a lithium battery instead of standard?

Altitude. Lakewood sits at 5,800 feet. Sealed lead-acid batteries lose 15-20% of their rated capacity at elevation compared to sea level performance, and Colorado summer heat in attic-adjacent stair cavities accelerates the degradation. We switched to lithium as baseline for every Front Range install — it holds capacity at altitude, handles the temperature swings, and outlasts lead-acid by roughly three years in Colorado conditions. No upcharge. It's part of the quoted price.

Are prices different in Lakewood than Denver proper?

Equipment prices are identical across the Denver metro — we don't inflate quotes based on zip code. What can vary slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: masonry anchors on stone-capped cottage stairs in Morse Park, wind-rated outdoor hardware for south-facing Bear Creek porches, or compensating rail brackets for foundation settlement in 1960s Green Mountain homes. Every line item is disclosed upfront on the written quote.

Do you charge extra for Spanish-language consultations?

No. Every Jefferson County assessment can be conducted in Spanish at your request. Luis is bilingual and has walked dozens of Lakewood families through every line of the paperwork in their preferred language. Every printed quote, consent form, and operating manual is available in Spanish. Zero surcharge.

A word from Luis

Lakewood families call me after the same kind of morning — a stumble on the bi-level stairs in a 1960s Green Mountain Estates ranch, a parent who hasn't been down to the walk-out basement in months, a grown son in Denver proper worried about his mother alone in the Eiber split-level she's lived in since Nixon was president.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and hand you a written price honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
