Stairlift Service Across Suffolk County

Suffolk County, NY

Bay Shore's housing stock tells the story of Long Island's postwar expansion. The Cape Cods and colonials north of Main Street date to the late 1940s and 1950s — narrow stairways, original hardwood treads, and the kind of tight landings that require precise rail placement. South of Montauk Highway, the waterfront properties trend larger with wider stairs but more exposure to salt air and coastal humidity that demands marine-grade hardware on any outdoor installation. Along Third Avenue and near Gardiner County Park, raised ranches from the 1960s and 1970s account for the majority of our curved-rail installs — the classic split-level entry with a 90-degree landing turn. We also serve Islip, Brightwaters, Babylon, Deer Park, and Lindenhurst within 15 minutes.

Straight

1951 Cape Cod north of Main Street — straight rail color-matched to original oak treads

Main Street, NY Installed March 2026

A 1951 Cape Cod north of Main Street with original oak stair treads and a narrow stairway typical of postwar Long Island construction. Mrs. Donovan's daughter called from Manhattan after her mother fell on the third step. We measured on Monday, installed Wednesday. The classic hardwood-finish rail was color-selected on-site to match the original oak grain, bolted into the treads without touching the banister, and the folding seat leaves 26 inches of stair width clear for the grandchildren. The family wanted a lift that would disappear when folded — the beige seat parks flush at the bottom landing beside the coat closet.

Gardiner Park raised ranch — curved rail through 90° split-level landing

Gardiner County Park, NY Installed February 2026

A 1966 raised ranch near Gardiner County Park with the classic Long Island split-level layout — five steps from the entry to the main floor, a 90-degree landing turn, then eight more steps to the bedrooms. We laser-scanned the full staircase geometry, fabricated a curved rail that carries Mr. Brennan from the front door to the upper hallway in one continuous ride through the turn, and installed a swivel-exit seat at the top so he steps onto the hallway floor instead of the top tread. The brown-upholstered chair parks flush at the upper landing beside the family portraits on the wall.

Bay Shore colonial — compact straight rail beside a sideboard on stone-tile treads

Bay Shore, NY Installed January 2026

A 1955 colonial in Bay Shore with stone-tile stair treads and a wooden sideboard at the base of the staircase. The compact stairway is typical of Bay Shore's postwar homes — narrow footprint, furniture tucked against every wall, a potted plant at the landing. We mounted the straight rail on the right side using masonry anchors, positioned the seat so it parks beside the sideboard with the plant still in place, and the folding footrest clears the hallway completely. Mrs. Petersen told us two previous companies said the space was too tight. The brown seat blends with the stone-tile tones.

South Shore waterfront — marine-grade outdoor lift on stone porch steps

South Shore waterfront, NY Installed December 2025

A waterfront colonial south of Montauk Highway with seven exterior stone-paved steps from the driveway to the covered front porch. Mr. Kowalski is a veteran who qualified for a HISA grant through the Northport VA Medical Center. The cream-colored weather-resistant seat mounts on a marine-grade galvanized rail anchored directly into the stone paving, with an IP55-sealed motor housing and stainless-steel fasteners rated for salt-spray environments. Bay Shore sits directly on the Great South Bay — the salt air and coastal humidity require hardware that standard inland installations do not. The carpeted outdoor tread at the bottom provides grip in wet conditions. The $6,800 HISA grant covered the majority of installation.

Third Avenue co-op — straight rail on carpeted stairs with board-approved installation

Third Avenue, NY Installed November 2025

A garden-level co-op on Third Avenue with carpeted stairs leading from the ground-floor entry to the upper bedrooms. The board required a formal accommodation request under New York's Human Rights Law — we prepared the submission, provided license and insurance documentation, and secured approval in two weeks. The brown-upholstered seat blends with the warm carpet tones. We used extended lag bolts to penetrate through the carpet and padding into the structural subfloor, torque-tested every anchor, and completed the install in a single morning. The folding footrest keeps the stairway clear for other residents.

Platform Lift

Bay Shore raised ranch — indoor wheelchair platform lift for a power chair user

Bay Shore, NY Installed October 2025

A 1964 raised ranch in Bay Shore with a five-step interior rise between the garage entry and the main living level. Mr. Santiago uses a power wheelchair full-time and cannot transfer to a seated stairlift. We installed an indoor inclined platform lift with a flat black anti-slip platform surface, bright yellow high-visibility pressure-sensitive safety edges on all sides, and a white handrail for added security. The platform carries the wheelchair and occupant from the lower level to the main floor in one smooth ride. Mr. Santiago filed a HISA grant through the Northport VA — the $6,800 service-connected grant covered the majority of the installation cost.

Common Questions

Everything Bay Shore Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Bay Shore right now?

Straight rails in Bay Shore's standard colonials and Cape Cods — the postwar homes north of Main Street, the raised ranches near Gardiner County Park — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for split-level entries with landing turns run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is custom-manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor models for waterfront porches and raised entries run $4,000 to $7,500, with marine-grade hardware included. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Does location on the South Shore affect my price?

Equipment pricing is the same across Suffolk County. What varies slightly is hardware specification: waterfront homes south of Montauk Highway need marine-grade galvanized outdoor hardware rated for salt-air corrosion — that's standard on our outdoor models and does not add a surcharge. The only cost variable is labor complexity for unusual staircase geometry or an electrical panel upgrade in a pre-1960 home. Every variable appears on the written quote. No surprise invoices.

Can I pay monthly instead of upfront?

Yes. Three lending partners offer 0% APR for qualified buyers and fixed-rate plans from $79 per month. The application is a soft credit pull — no hit to your score — and approval is typically instant. Many Suffolk County families combine financing with a VA HISA grant or the IRS medical deduction to bring the monthly payment down further. We walk through the math during the free assessment.

Is the in-home assessment actually free?

Completely free and zero obligation. Luis drives to your Bay Shore home, laser-measures the staircase, checks salt-air exposure for outdoor installs, photographs the layout, and leaves you with a written quote the same day. For curved-rail projects, that measurement data goes directly to fabrication — it's a working visit, not a sales presentation. No follow-up calls unless you ask for them.

A word from Luis

Bay Shore sits right on the Great South Bay — the salt air, the humidity, the nor'easters. When I measure a staircase in a Bay Shore colonial, I'm also noting the moisture conditions, the proximity to the water, and whether the homeowner needs outdoor hardware rated for coastal corrosion. These aren't details you can skip on the South Shore.

Most families call after a fall or a surgery. Their mother hasn't been upstairs in three months. Their father is sleeping on a recliner in the living room because the bedroom is on the second floor. I drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that's honored for 30 days. No sales theater. If you're a veteran, we'll check your HISA eligibility during the same visit — the Northport VA is 20 minutes north and we know their process.
