Stairlift Service Across Randolph County

Randolph County, NC

Archdale's housing stock divides by era and highway corridor. The original core along Main Street and Balfour Drive holds 1940s and 1950s brick ranches and cape cods with hardwood stairs and narrow stairwells that need slim-profile rail brackets. Creekside Village's 1990s colonials off Archdale Road have standard 14-foot carpeted runs ideal for same-week installs. Trindale Forest and the Brookwood subdivisions carry wider L-shaped staircases common in early-2000s Piedmont builds that need curved-rail fabrication. South of I-85, the Bush Hill Quaker-heritage area and Groometown Road include raised-foundation homes with exterior porch stairs. Along NC-311 toward High Point, split-level transitionals have half-flights with mid-landing turns.

1952 Balfour Drive ranch — straight rail on original oak treads

Balfour Drive, NC Installed March 2026

A 1952 brick ranch on Balfour Drive with 13 original oak treads and a turned-spindle banister the family has kept in its original finish for 70 years. Mrs. Jenkins had been sleeping in the den since a knee replacement at High Point Medical Center because the staircase was off limits. We pre-drilled into the oak nosings, mounted a slim-profile rail on the banister side, and color-matched the bracket caps to the dark stain. The cream-upholstered seat parks at the bottom landing.

1990s Bush Hill transitional — curved rail through a 90° upper-landing turn

Bush Hill, NC Installed February 2026

A 1993 transitional in the Bush Hill area with a wide stairwell, neutral walls, and a 90-degree turn at the upper landing. Mr. Warren is a retired Army sergeant who served at Fort Bragg and has lived in this house since 1998. We laser-scanned the run on the first visit and fabricated a single curved rail custom-bent for the upper turn. The brown-upholstered seat parks at the top under the upper-hall ceiling. Curved rails start at $9,000; the Kernersville VA wrote his HISA prescription and the grant covered $6,800.

1955 Main Street cape cod — compact stairway with stone-tile treads and sideboard

Main Street, NC Installed January 2026

A 1955 cape cod near Main Street with a compact 32-inch-wide staircase and light stone-tile treads going up to two upstairs bedrooms. The brown-upholstered seat parks at the bottom landing next to the family's wooden sideboard, where Mrs. Morales keeps a potted plant. We hand-fitted the rail brackets to the tile risers without drilling through the stone face. Folded, the seat takes 11 inches, leaving 21 inches of clear passage. Luis walked the family through every button in Spanish.

Groometown Road home — outdoor lift on flagstone walkout-basement entry

Groometown Road, NC Installed December 2025

A raised-foundation home along Groometown Road south of I-85 with a walkout basement and eight exterior flagstone steps that get slippery after every Piedmont thunderstorm. Mrs. Norwood is 78 and had stopped using the lower level entirely. The cream-colored weather-resistant seat sits at the upper entry. Every component carries a sealed IP55 motor housing rated for Piedmont humidity and stainless fasteners that resist the corrosion other Randolph County installs suffer within two seasons. Outdoor lifts start at $4,000.

Creekside Village colonial — straight rail on carpeted treads, tile floor at base

Creekside Village, NC Installed November 2025

A 1998 colonial in the Creekside Village subdivision off Archdale Road with carpeted stairs and a tile foyer floor at the base of the rail. The brown-upholstered seat matches the warm tan carpet on the upper-landing side. Mr. Atkins's son called from Charlotte on Monday, we measured Tuesday afternoon, and the install crew was at the house Thursday morning. The rail bolts through the carpet pad into the wooden treads beneath — no carpet removal, no damage to the pile.

Platform Lift

Archdale Road home — inclined wheelchair platform lift with yellow safety edges

Archdale Road, NC Installed October 2025

A two-story home off Archdale Road where Mr. Coleman uses a power wheelchair full-time after a service-connected injury from his Fort Bragg years. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift along the indoor stairway: a flat black anti-slip deck with yellow high-visibility safety edges on all thresholds, a white handrail on the wall side, and a keyed lockout. The HISA grant covered the full $6,800 service-connected maximum; the CAP/DA waiver covered the balance through his Randolph County DSS caseworker. Capacity is 600 lb.

Common Questions

Everything Archdale Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Archdale, NC?

Straight rails in Archdale's standard homes — the brick ranches along Balfour Drive, the Creekside Village colonials off Archdale Road, the cape cods near Main Street — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for the split-level landing turns south of I-85 and Brookwood's L-shaped staircases start at $9,000 because the rail is custom-manufactured to your exact geometry. Outdoor models for raised porch entries and walkout basements start at $4,000. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes the rail, seat, battery backup, installation, and first service visit.

Are Archdale prices different from High Point or Greensboro?

Equipment prices are the same across the Triad — we do not discount or inflate based on city size. What varies slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: narrow pre-war treads in Main Street cape cods, split-level landing fabrication south of I-85, and the humidity-rated lubricant and sealed motor housing we spec as standard on every Piedmont outdoor install. Those are baseline specs, not upcharges. We tell you the line items upfront on the written quote.

Is there a less expensive option if I only need it temporarily after surgery?

Yes. We offer certified refurbished straight-rail units starting around $2,000 installed. These use factory-reconditioned motors and new safety sensors on a cleaned and tested rail. For post-surgery recovery in Archdale — knee replacements at High Point Medical Center, hip surgeries at Moses Cone — a refurbished unit on a standard staircase can be installed within days and removed when you no longer need it.

Does the quote include everything, or are there hidden fees?

The quote includes the rail, seat, battery backup, all mounting hardware, installation labor, post-install testing, and a 30-day follow-up check. There is no travel fee anywhere in Randolph or Guilford County. The only variable that could add cost is if your home needs a new dedicated 120V circuit because the existing outlet cannot support the load — we assess that on the measurement visit and disclose it before you sign anything. Financing starts at $79 per month.

A word from Luis

Archdale straddles the Randolph-Guilford county line in the Piedmont Triad, and the housing reflects both counties. The older core along Main Street and Balfour Drive — the historic Bush Hill Quaker settlement — holds 1940s and 1950s brick ranches and cape cods with hardwood treads and tight stairwells. Cross into the Creekside Village and Brookwood subdivisions built in the 1990s and 2000s and the stairs widen — carpeted, standard pitch, easy same-week installs. South of I-85, the lots get bigger and the homes get taller: two-story colonials and split-level transitionals with landing turns that require curved-rail fabrication.

What I pay attention to in Randolph County: humidity and red clay. Outdoor installs on raised porches and walkout basements need sealed motor housings and corrosion-resistant fasteners because Piedmont summers run 90% humidity for weeks at a time. I hand you a written quote before I leave your driveway. En español si lo prefiere.
