Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Forsyth County

Forsyth County, NC

The West End historic district is where most of our curved-rail installs happen — early-1900s colonials with ornate banisters and landing turns. Ardmore is our highest-volume neighborhood for straight installs: 1920s–1940s bungalows with predictable 13- to 15-step runs on original oak treads. Buena Vista has larger colonials with wider stairwells and premium finishes. Washington Park, one of the city’s first planned suburbs, has Arts and Crafts bungalows where tread widths vary house to house. Old Salem demands historically sensitive work near the 1766 Moravian settlement. Reynolda and Sherwood Forest near Wake Forest University have ranch split-levels that need short straight or curved-landing rails. Stratford has 1950s–1960s ranches among the most straightforward installs in the city.

1928 Ardmore bungalow — standard install on original oak treads

Ardmore, NC Installed March 2026

A 1928 bungalow on a quiet Ardmore block with 14 original oak treads and a homeowner who had been sleeping in the downstairs sunroom since her hip replacement six months earlier. Mrs. Mitchell’s daughter called on a Tuesday, we measured on Wednesday, and installed on Friday. The rail is color-matched to the original oak, the folding seat tucks flat, and the battery backup has already ridden through one summer thunderstorm outage. Mrs. Mitchell slept in her own bedroom that Friday night for the first time in half a year.

1908 West End colonial — curved rail past the original walnut newel post

West End, NC Installed February 2026

A 1908 colonial on West End Boulevard with an original walnut newel post, turned spindles, and a 90° landing between the first and second floors. The Pattersons have lived in the house for 42 years and were not about to let a stairlift alter the staircase they’ve walked past every day since 1984. We laser-scanned the full staircase, fabricated a curved rail that threads past the newel post and clears every spindle, and installed in a single afternoon. The finish matches the walnut grain so closely the installer took a photo for the portfolio.

Stratford ranch split-level — swivel-exit for a safer top-landing step

Stratford, NC Installed January 2026

A 1958 ranch split-level in Stratford with a short seven-step run from the den to the upper bedroom level. Mr. Hodges is a retired Reynolds worker whose balance has deteriorated since a medication change. His biggest concern was stepping off at the top, where his wife had watched him stumble twice. We installed the swivel-exit seat which rotates 90° at the upper landing so he steps onto the hallway floor instead of the top tread. One small detail, no more stumbles.

Washington Park foursquare — weather-sealed outdoor rail on raised brick entry

Washington Park, NC Installed December 2025

A 1915 foursquare in Washington Park with a raised brick front entry — eight steps from the walkway to the covered porch, no handrail, and Piedmont humidity that makes the brick slick after every summer rain. Mrs. Daniels qualified for the NC CAP/DA Waiver and we handled the Home Modification Request paperwork with her Case Manager. The outdoor rail has a cream weather-resistant seat, UV-stabilized upholstery rated for the Piedmont sun, IP55 motor housing sealed against thunderstorm moisture, and stainless fasteners built for Winston-Salem’s wet summers. Mrs. Daniels walks out her front door independently for the first time in months. The state paid the full cost — she did not write a single check.

Buena Vista colonial — compact indoor rail alongside original crown molding

Buena Vista, NC Installed November 2025

A 1925 colonial in Buena Vista with a 13-step interior staircase, original crown molding, and a console table at the bottom landing that Mrs. Jackson refused to move. Mr. Jackson is a Korean War-era veteran who qualified for a HISA grant through the Salisbury VA. We prefilled VA Form 10-0103, the prescription came back in four weeks, and we mounted the rail on the open side opposite the console table, keeping the walkway clear. The slim-profile track adds only 10 inches from the wall with the seat folded. Mr. Jackson rides up every evening and down every morning on his own. The battery backup has ridden through every Piedmont thunderstorm outage since install without a missed trip.

Platform Lift

Sherwood Forest colonial — indoor wheelchair platform lift with bilingual consultation

Sherwood Forest, NC Installed October 2025

A 1962 colonial in Sherwood Forest where Sra. Mendoza uses a power wheelchair after a stroke. The five-step interior level change between the entry hall and the main living area made the home functionally inaccessible — her grandson had been carrying her up in the wheelchair, a situation her doctor called dangerous for both of them. Luis conducted the entire assessment, quote review, and installation walkthrough in Spanish so the family did not have to translate a word. We installed an indoor inclined wheelchair platform lift with a flat black anti-slip platform and yellow high-visibility safety edges on every border, sized for her power chair with clearance to spare. The controls are mounted at wheelchair height on both levels, and the automatic safety gate locks before the platform moves. Sra. Mendoza rolls on, presses one button, and rolls off into her living room independently. The Spanish-language operating manual is taped beside the lower call button.

Common Questions

Everything Winston-Salem Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in Winston-Salem right now?

Straight rails in standard Winston-Salem homes — the Ardmore bungalows, Stratford ranches, and Sherwood Forest colonials — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails, which you’ll need for most West End colonials with landing turns and Buena Vista split-levels, run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor and weather-sealed models for raised front porches and brick entry steps run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices different in Winston-Salem than Charlotte or Raleigh?

Equipment prices are identical across North Carolina. What varies slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: historic West End banister preservation work, tight Victorian stairwells that require compact-profile rails, or curved fabrication for pre-war landings. We tell you the line items upfront. No regional premium for Winston-Salem or the Triad.

Does Piedmont humidity affect the equipment?

Yes — Winston-Salem summers regularly hit 90°F with 80% sustained humidity. Standard stairlift lubricants can degrade in those conditions. Every Winston-Salem install ships with humidity-rated lubricant, an IP54-sealed motor housing, and stainless steel fasteners rated for the moisture that defines Forsyth County from May through September. Outdoor installs get the full IP55 housing and marine-grade epoxy rail coating. We service the lubrication annually as part of the maintenance plan.

Any hidden fees for homes in the West End historic district?

Interior stairlift installs do not require Historic Preservation Commission review because the rail bolts into stair treads and does not alter the exterior. Our quote covers the full install — rail, seat, battery backup, and labor. If you need an outdoor lift on a front porch in a designated historic block, we handle the Commission application. No surprise fees, no surcharge for historic properties in Winston-Salem.

A word from Luis

Most Winston-Salem families call me after the stairs became the obstacle they've been working around for months — a father in Ardmore who hasn't slept upstairs since his stroke, a mother in West End whose 1920s colonial has 16 steep treads and no bedroom on the first floor, a retired Reynolds worker in Sherwood Forest whose knees finally said no.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that's honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
