Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Guilford County

Guilford County, NC

In Fisher Park, the conversation starts with "don't touch the original banister" — our rail bolts into the oak treads only, never the wall or spindles. Irving Park's formal two-story Colonials need low-profile rails that disappear in a foyer. Westerwood and Lindley Park ranch split-levels have mid-landing 90° turns that require a single curved rail instead of two separate lifts. Sunset Hills Cape Cods have steep second-floor bedroom access on pitches near 40 degrees. College Hill houses near UNCG have some of the city's narrowest stairwells at 27–28 inches — compact-profile rails are the only option. Hamilton Lakes homes with double-height entry foyers need wall-side mounting to preserve the aesthetic. We also cover High Point, Kernersville, Jamestown, Pleasant Garden, Summerfield, and Oak Ridge — no travel surcharges anywhere in Guilford County.

1927 Fisher Park bungalow — rail matched to original oak treads

Fisher Park, NC Installed March 2026

A 1927 Craftsman bungalow in Fisher Park with original quarter-sawn oak treads and a carved newel post the homeowner has maintained for nearly a century. Mrs. Whitfield's first instruction: nothing touches the banister. We color-matched the rail finish to the aged oak, bolted the track into the treads with sealed fasteners, and left every original detail untouched. The historic district neighbors walked through on the Preservation Society tour last spring and two of them asked for our number.

Irving Park Colonial — curved rail sweeping a 90° turn at the upper landing

Irving Park, NC Installed February 2026

A 1948 brick Colonial in Irving Park with a formal two-story entry foyer and a staircase that bends 90 degrees at the upper landing before reaching the hallway. Mr. Caldwell was clear: the stairlift could not dominate the entry. We laser-scanned the full staircase, fabricated a single curved rail that follows the bend around the half-wall at the top, and specified neutral upholstery so the chair parks flush at the upper floor. The seat swivels at the top landing so he steps off onto the hallway — not the top tread. The foyer still looks like a foyer, not a medical facility.

Westerwood ranch — compact straight rail beside the sideboard

Westerwood, NC Installed January 2026

A 1962 ranch in Westerwood with stone-tile treads, a wooden sideboard at the base of the stairs, and a narrow entry that left no room for error. Mrs. Henderson needed the rail tight against the wall so the hallway furniture could stay. We mounted the compact-profile track on the stone treads using chemical-set anchors, positioned the seat to fold flat beside the sideboard, and confirmed clearance for the potted plant she refused to move. Cozy cottage layout, traditional finishes, done in a single morning.

Lindley Park porch — weather-sealed outdoor rail on stone-paved entry steps

Lindley Park, NC Installed December 2025

A 1940s bungalow in Lindley Park with a raised front porch and six exterior stone-paved entry steps. Mr. Patterson is a Korean War-era veteran who qualified for a HISA grant through the Kernersville VA. We anchored the outdoor rail into the rough natural stone paving, sealed every fastener against Piedmont humidity, and UV-coated the cream seat for the North Carolina sun. A leaf guard on the rail handles the fall oak-leaf drop from the massive red oak shading the porch. The lift has run through a full summer of 90°F humidity without a service call.

College Hill narrow stairwell — compact rail preserving 24 inches of clear width

College Hill, NC Installed November 2025

A 1923 house near UNCG with one of the narrowest stairwells in Greensboro — 28 inches wall to wall, with carpeted treads that matched the brown upholstery we selected. Sra. Morales's son called from Raleigh and asked if a stairlift was even possible. Luis walked the stairs on the first visit, confirmed the compact rail would fit, and conducted the entire consultation in Spanish. The folding footrest and armrests preserve 24 inches of clear stair width when the lift is parked at the landing. Her grandchildren still use the carpeted stairs without squeezing past.

Platform Lift

Sunset Hills home — indoor wheelchair platform lift with yellow safety edges

Sunset Hills, NC Installed October 2025

Mr. Barber uses a power wheelchair full-time after a spinal cord injury and cannot transfer to a seated stairlift. His 1950s Sunset Hills home has an indoor stairway with orange-toned walls and a window overlooking the yard. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift with a flat black anti-slip platform, yellow high-visibility safety edges on all sides, and a white handrail. He rolls on at the bottom, rides the inclined rail to the upper floor, and rolls off — no transfers, no lifting. The keyed lockout keeps the grandchildren from operating it unsupervised.

Common Questions

Everything Greensboro Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in Greensboro right now?

Straight rails in standard Greensboro homes — the bungalows in Fisher Park, the Colonials in Irving Park, the Cape Cods in Sunset Hills — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for the ranch split-levels in Westerwood and Lindley Park, or the L-shaped staircases in older Hamilton Lakes homes, run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor weather-sealed models for raised front porches run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices different in Greensboro than Charlotte or Raleigh?

Equipment prices are the same across North Carolina — we don't inflate quotes for Irving Park or Hamilton Lakes addresses. What can vary slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: original banister preservation in Fisher Park historic homes, HPC paperwork windows for contributing structures, and compensating rail mounts for 100-year-old stair treads that have settled unevenly. We line-item everything upfront. No surprise fees.

Do you charge extra for Spanish-language service?

No. Every Guilford County assessment can be conducted in Spanish at your request — Luis is bilingual and has walked dozens of Triad families through the entire process in their preferred language. Every printed quote, consent form, and operating manual is available in Spanish. Zero surcharge.

Any hidden fees for HOA or 55+ community installs?

Our quote includes the HOA paperwork we handle for you. We've worked with the age-restricted and 55+ communities throughout Guilford County and the surrounding Triad — the reasonable-accommodation letters are already templated. Under the federal Fair Housing Amendments Act, HOAs must permit accessibility equipment for disabled residents. If a board requires its own engineer's letter, we tell you before we start — not after.

A word from Luis

Most Greensboro families call me after someone has already had a close call — a slip on the hardwood stairs in a Fisher Park bungalow, a father who stopped going upstairs after his hip replacement, a daughter in Charlotte worried about her mother rattling around in a three-story Irving Park Colonial alone.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that's honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
