Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Westchester County

Westchester County, NY

From the 1890s Queen Anne Victorians of Park Hill and Greystone — where curved banisters, original oak newel posts, and steep narrow runs are the norm — to the 1920s pre-war walkups along North Broadway and the postwar Cape Cods and split-levels of Northwest Yonkers, our team has mapped every staircase pattern in the city. We know which Crestwood colonials need a curved rail at the mid-landing, which Getty Square co-op buildings require board approval, and which Southeast Yonkers two-family homes have the steep back stairs that call for the compact rail option.

We also serve Bronxville, Tuckahoe, Eastchester, Mount Vernon, and Hastings-on-Hudson without travel fees.

1896 Park Hill Victorian — rail color-matched to original oak banister

Park Hill, NY Installed March 2026

A Queen Anne Victorian in Park Hill with original 1896 oak banisters and turned spindles that three generations of O'Briens have maintained. Mrs. O'Brien's daughter insisted the banister stay untouched. We mounted the rail into the stair treads, color-matched the bracket covers to the original oak grain, and kept every spindle and newel post intact. The home health aide confirmed the 27-inch clearance between rail and banister passes her agency's requirements. Mrs. O'Brien rides it eight times a day and told her daughter the house finally works for her again.

90° landing turn in a 1922 Greystone colonial

Greystone, NY Installed February 2026

A 1922 Greystone colonial with a walnut handrail and a 90-degree landing turn halfway up the staircase. Mr. Esposito came home from cardiac bypass surgery at Westchester Medical Center and could not manage the stairs. We laser-scanned the staircase, fabricated a curved rail that threads past the walnut newel post without contact, and installed a swivel-exit seat at the upper landing. He slept in his own bed the night of installation — eight months after moving downstairs to the den.

Getty Square pre-war walkup — compact rail in a 30-inch common stairway

Getty Square, NY Installed January 2026

A 1930s pre-war walkup in Getty Square where the common stairway measured 30 inches wide — tight, but above the 26-inch minimum for the compact rail. Mrs. Rodriguez has lived in the building for 37 years and the co-op board approved the installation in four weeks using our documentation packet with the NY Human Rights Law citation. The seat folds flat against the wall when parked, leaving enough clearance for other tenants to pass. Zero complaints from neighbors or building management.

Southeast Yonkers two-family — outdoor rail on raised brownstone stoop

Southeast Yonkers, NY Installed December 2025

A two-family home in Southeast Yonkers with a raised brownstone stoop that Mr. Flaherty, a Vietnam veteran, could no longer navigate after knee replacement. We anchored a marine-grade outdoor rail into the masonry steps with stainless hardware and a sealed motor rated for Hudson Valley winters. The VA HISA grant through the Montrose campus covered $6,800 — we prefilled VA Form 10-0103 and had the grant approved in six weeks. The lift has survived two nor'easters without a service call. Mr. Flaherty said it was the first time he used his own front door since 2023.

Northwest Yonkers Cape Cod — swivel-exit on carpeted stairs

Northwest Yonkers, NY Installed November 2025

A 1948 Cape Cod in Northwest Yonkers where Mrs. Fitzgerald had fallen twice on the steep carpeted stairs leading to the converted attic bedroom. Her son arranged the assessment from Manhattan via video call. We installed a straight rail on 13 carpeted treads with a swivel-exit seat at the top that rotates her onto the 28-inch landing so she steps off level instead of onto the steep top step. Two historical falls, zero since installation. The banister she picked out in 1978 remains completely untouched.

Platform Lift

Indoor wheelchair platform in a Crestwood split-level

Crestwood, NY Installed October 2025

A mid-century split-level in Crestwood where Mr. Antonelli uses a power wheelchair after a stroke and could not transfer to a seated stairlift. The four-step gap between the entry level and the living area was the barrier. We installed an indoor vertical wheelchair platform lift alongside the existing staircase with yellow safety edges per ADA visibility standards and a keyed lockout so visiting grandchildren cannot operate it unsupervised. The NHTD waiver through Westchester County covered the full cost. The fold-up deck stows against the wall when not in use, leaving the stairway clear for other family members.

Common Questions

Everything Yonkers Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in Westchester County right now?

Straight rails in standard Yonkers homes — the Park Hill Victorians, the Northwest Yonkers Capes, the Crestwood colonials — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for homes with mid-landing turns and sweeping Victorian staircases run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact geometry. Outdoor weather-sealed models for raised brownstone stoops run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices different in Yonkers than Manhattan or the Bronx?

Equipment pricing is identical across the metropolitan area — we don't inflate quotes for Greystone or discount for Getty Square. What varies is install complexity: a curved rail in a 1922 Greystone colonial with a walnut newel post and a 90-degree landing turn costs more to fabricate than a straight run in a Northwest Yonkers Cape Cod. We itemize every line on the written quote so you see exactly where the cost sits. No address-based premiums.

Any extra fees for co-op or condo buildings?

Our quote includes the full documentation packet we prepare for your co-op board — equipment specifications, installer insurance certificates, structural load statements, and New York Human Rights Law citations. We've worked with co-op boards across Getty Square, Park Hill, and the pre-war buildings on North Broadway. If a board requires its own engineer's letter, we tell you before we start — not after.

Do I need to verify the Westchester HIC license?

Yes — Westchester County requires its own Home Improvement Contractor license through the Department of Consumer Protection, separate from the NYC DCWP license. We carry both. Our Westchester HIC number is on every written quote, and you can verify it online through the Westchester DCP portal. Any company that can't show you a current Westchester HIC is operating outside the law.

A word from Luis

Most Yonkers families call me after something has already happened — a fall on the steep stairs of a Park Hill Victorian, a parent who hasn't been upstairs in months in a Greystone pre-war colonial, a daughter in Manhattan worried about her mother in a Getty Square walkup she's rented for 40 years.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that's honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells.
