Stairlift Service Across Westchester County

Westchester County, NY

From the Queen Anne cottages and Tudor Revivals of Rochelle Park and Rochelle Heights — where steep original staircases with ornate banisters and tower rooms are the norm — to the 1920s–40s center hall colonials of Bonnie Crest, where the formal front staircase is wide enough for a standard rail but the back stairs to the kitchen often require the compact profile, our team has mapped every staircase pattern in New Rochelle. We know which Wykagyl split-levels have the mid-landing turn that only works with a curved rail, which Residence Park ranches have the steep basement stairs that need the swivel-exit seat, and which North End walkup buildings require co-op board approval before any equipment goes in. We also serve neighboring Larchmont, Mamaroneck, Pelham, Eastchester, and Bronxville without travel fees.

Straight

Rochelle Heights Tudor — straight rail on original dark oak treads

Rochelle Heights, NY Installed March 2026

A 1924 Tudor Revival in the Rochelle Park–Rochelle Heights Historic District with dark oak open-tread stairs and an original banister Mrs. Callahan’s family has maintained for a century. We bolted a straight rail to the right side of the oak treads, positioned the beige seat at the bottom landing where it folds flat against the wall, and ran the wiring along the tread edge so nothing contacts the half-timber detail or the plaster. Her daughter now drives up from Manhattan once a month instead of every Saturday.

Bonnie Crest colonial — curved rail bending around the upper half-wall

Bonnie Crest, NY Installed February 2026

A 1936 center hall colonial in Bonnie Crest where the staircase curves around a half-wall at the upper landing. We laser-scanned the geometry on the first visit and fabricated a continuous curved rail that bends the full turn. The brown-upholstered seat parks at the upper floor landing so Mrs. Levine steps off directly onto the hallway — not the top tread. A chandelier hangs above the turn and framed art lines the wall; the rail clears both. Her Hadassah chapter meets monthly in the living room and not one member has commented on the lift.

Wykagyl cottage — compact straight rail on stone treads

Wykagyl, NY Installed January 2026

A cozy Wykagyl cottage with stone-tiled treads and a wooden sideboard at the base of the stairs that Mrs. DeLuca has owned for decades. The compact space left no room for error — we specified the slimmest straight rail, bolted it to the stone treads with masonry anchors, and positioned the brown seat so it parks next to the sideboard without blocking the hallway. The traditional cottage character stayed intact; the potted plant on the cabinet never moved.

Outdoor

Residence Park ranch — outdoor lift on stone-paved front entry

Residence Park, NY Installed December 2025

A 1958 raised ranch in Residence Park with a stone-paved front entry and raised porch steps. Mr. Okafor had a knee replacement scheduled at Montefiore New Rochelle and wanted the lift operating before he came home. We installed a weather-resistant cream-colored outdoor seat on the stone entry stairs, sealed every bracket against nor’easter rain and Long Island Sound humidity, and anchored the rail to the porch structure. He rode it from the sidewalk to the front door twelve days after surgery without putting weight on the stairs once.

North End walkup — straight rail on carpeted stairs at the landing

North End, NY Installed November 2025

A 1929 walkup in the North End with carpeted stairs and a landing between floors. Mrs. Baptiste has lived on the second floor for 28 years and her hips cannot handle the stairs anymore. We mounted the rail along the wall side of the carpeted treads, specified the brown-upholstered seat to match the carpet tones, and positioned the seat at the landing where the carpet meets the tiled floor below. The co-op board approved the accessibility packet in five weeks; every other tenant walks past the folded chair without complaint.

Platform Lift

Rochelle Park Victorian — indoor wheelchair platform lift

Rochelle Park, NY Installed October 2025

A 1902 Queen Anne cottage in Rochelle Park where Mr. Petrov, a Korean War-era veteran, uses a power wheelchair and cannot transfer to a seated stairlift. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift on the indoor stairway — a flat black anti-slip platform with yellow high-visibility safety edges, a white handrail, and a keyed call station at the lower landing. The warm-toned walls and window light in the stairwell made visibility easy. The VA Hudson Valley Healthcare System at Montrose approved his HISA grant in five weeks, covering the full cost.

Common Questions

Everything New Rochelle Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in New Rochelle right now?

Straight rails in standard New Rochelle homes — the Bonnie Crest colonials, the Wykagyl split-levels, the Residence Park raised ranches — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for homes with mid-landing turns, Victorian tower stairs, and Tudor turret staircases run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact geometry. Outdoor models for raised front entries and back steps run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices higher in New Rochelle than in the Bronx or White Plains?

Equipment prices are the same across the metro area — we do not inflate quotes for Rochelle Heights or Bonnie Crest addresses. What varies is install complexity: threading a curved rail through a Queen Anne tower staircase in Rochelle Park is more labor-intensive than bolting a straight rail in a Wykagyl ranch. We itemize every line on the written quote. No hidden surcharges.

Do I need to verify the Westchester Home Improvement Contractor license?

Yes — Westchester County requires its own Home Improvement Contractor license through the Department of Consumer Protection, separate from the NYC DCWP license. A contractor licensed in Manhattan or the Bronx is NOT automatically licensed in Westchester. Verify at consumer.westchestergov.com before signing anything. Our Westchester HIC number is printed on every written quote.

Is financing cheaper than paying in full?

Paying in full avoids interest, but our 0% APR option for qualified buyers costs the same total amount spread over 12 months. For families combining a partial VA HISA grant or the IRS medical deduction with financing, the net monthly cost often drops below $60. We run the comparison math during the free assessment so you can see both options side by side before signing anything.

A word from Luis

Most New Rochelle families call me after someone has already started avoiding the stairs — a parent who stopped going upstairs in a Rochelle Heights Tudor three months ago, a grandmother who slipped on the original oak treads in a Bonnie Crest colonial, a son in Manhattan who found out his father has been sleeping in the den of their Wykagyl split-level since August.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that’s honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells.

— Luis Ramírez, New Rochelle
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

If someone in your family has already stopped using the second floor — sleeping in the den, skipping the upstairs bathroom, letting the bedrooms collect dust — the staircase is the problem, not the person. A properly installed stairlift in a New Rochelle colonial, Tudor, or split-level changes that overnight: the full house is accessible again, the fall risk drops to near zero, and the family stops bracing for a phone call they don’t want to get.

Call us or fill out the form above. Luis will be at your door within 24 hours, measure your staircase, and leave you with a written quote good for 30 days. No pressure, no follow-up calls, no upsells.
