Stairlift Service Across Yolo County

Yolo County, CA

Woodland's downtown historic district — College Street, First Street, Main Street — holds pre-1940 Victorians, Craftsman bungalows, and Tudor Revivals with original banisters and narrow stair treads that require careful rail routing. South of downtown, the 1950s–1970s ranch blocks are dominated by single-story homes where outdoor porch lifts handle the front-entry concrete steps. Spring Lake northeast of County Road 102 has newer two-story stucco homes with clean straight stair runs that install fast. We also serve Davis, Knights Landing, Monument Hills, El Macero, and unincorporated Yolo County pockets — all within 20 minutes.

Straight

Spring Lake two-story — straight rail on builder-grade oak treads from the tile foyer

Spring Lake, CA Installed March 2026

A 2006 two-story stucco home in Spring Lake — standard builder-grade layout, 14-tread straight run from the tile foyer to the upper hallway. Mrs. Pham, 76, had been sleeping on the living-room couch for three weeks after a hip replacement at Woodland Memorial Hospital. Her daughter in Davis called on a Monday; we measured Tuesday and installed Thursday. The rail bolts into the existing oak treads, the seat folds flat against the wall, and the battery backup is sized for a PG&E Public Safety Power Shutoff. Install wrapped in three hours. Mrs. Pham slept in her own bed that night.

College Street Queen Anne — curved rail past a 130-year-old Eastlake newel post

Downtown Historic District, CA Installed February 2026

An 1892 Queen Anne Victorian on College Street, two blocks from the Yolo County Courthouse. The original fir banister with turned spindles and an Eastlake newel post had survived 130 years intact, and Mr. Whitfield's first instruction was identical to every downtown Woodland call we take: do not touch the banister. We laser-scanned the stair on the first visit, fabricated a curved rail that threads past the newel post and around the upper landing turn, and installed in a single afternoon. The rail is bolted entirely into the original stair treads. Not one spindle moved. The Heritage Home Award plaque on the front porch is still deserved.

Downtown cottage — compact straight rail beside a wooden sideboard on stone-tile treads

Downtown Woodland, CA Installed January 2026

A cozy 1930s downtown cottage with stone-tile treads on a compact interior staircase flanked by a wooden sideboard and a potted fern at the bottom landing. The home has that traditional Yolo County farmhouse warmth — furniture tucked against every wall, family photos lining the narrow stair hall. The brown-upholstered seat matches the earthy tone of the stone treads. We bolted the straight rail into the tile treads using masonry anchors, kept the seat profile slim enough that Mrs. Mendoza can still reach her sideboard without rearranging, and completed the install in a single morning. She said the compact space was why a previous company told her it was impossible.

South Main Street ranch — outdoor porch lift on stone-paved entry with cream seat

South Woodland, CA Installed December 2025

A 1963 single-story ranch south of Main Street with a west-facing front porch sitting five stone-paved steps above the driveway. Mr. Nguyen, 81, had stopped using the front door entirely because the steps were too steep after a knee replacement. The stone paving radiates Central Valley heat well past sunset in summer, making grip uncertain on a cane. We mounted an outdoor rail on the stone paving with stainless anchors, installed a cream UV-resistant seat that blends with the stucco exterior, and sealed the motor housing to IP54. The afternoon sun pushes past 105°F in July — the heat-rated battery and UV-stabilized seat are standard for every Woodland outdoor install. Mr. Nguyen rode down to his driveway and back up twice before we packed the tools.

East Street corridor ranch — straight rail on carpeted half-flight, Spanish consultation

East Woodland, CA Installed November 2025

A 1975 ranch off East Street with a short carpeted half-flight from the entry down to the family room and a second carpeted half-flight up to the bedrooms. Sra. Delgado, 80, had been managing both for years until a fall in September. Her son called on a Thursday; we conducted the entire home assessment in Spanish at her kitchen table on Friday, measured the same afternoon, and installed the following Wednesday. The brown-upholstered seat matches the warm carpet tones on the landing. The user-training walkthrough, every safety feature, the manual descent crank — all explained in Spanish. The safety reference card on the chair is printed in both languages.

Platform Lift

Spring Lake split-entry — indoor inclined wheelchair platform lift

Spring Lake, CA Installed October 2025

A 2008 split-entry home in Spring Lake where Mr. Reyes, a full-time wheelchair user after a workplace injury, needed access from the garage-level entry to the main living floor — seven steps with a short landing. A seated stairlift was not an option because he cannot transfer from his wheelchair. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift on the indoor stairway — a flat black anti-slip platform with yellow high-visibility safety edges on all sides and a white handrail along the wall. The terracotta-accented interior gives the stair hall a warm Central Valley character. The platform carries Mr. Reyes and his power chair from the lower entry to the kitchen level in about 40 seconds. His VA HISA grant covered the full $6,800 — we prefilled VA Form 10-0103 and coordinated directly with the Sacramento VA Medical Center.

Common Questions

Everything Woodland Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in Woodland right now?

Straight rails inside a Spring Lake two-story, a 1970s ranch with an interior stair, or a downtown bungalow run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails — needed for the original oak banister on a College Street Queen Anne, a Tudor Revival with a mid-landing turn, or a farmhouse conversion with an L-shaped staircase — run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor porch and stoop lifts for single-story ranches south of Main Street run $4,500 to $8,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes the rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices higher in the downtown historic district than in Spring Lake?

Equipment prices are identical across every Woodland ZIP. We do not inflate quotes for a historic College Street address. What varies is labor for unusual site conditions — routing a rail past an 1890s turned-spindle banister, pulling a new dedicated 120V circuit in a home with knob-and-tube wiring, or anchoring an outdoor rail into 80-year-old concrete stoops. Every line item appears on the written quote before you sign, never after.

Do you charge extra for Spanish-language service?

No. Woodland is roughly half Latino, and our installer Luis conducts assessments in Spanish on request — from the initial phone call through the written quote, the consent forms, the user-training walkthrough, and the safety reference card mounted on the chair. Every printed document is available in Spanish at zero surcharge. For families in the East Street corridor and throughout unincorporated Yolo County, this is how we should have always done business.

Do you charge a travel fee for Woodland since you're based in the Sacramento area?

No travel fee anywhere in Yolo County. Woodland is 20 miles from Sacramento on I-5, and we staff dedicated Northern California coverage so your installer isn't driving up from the Bay Area. Davis, Knights Landing, Monument Hills, El Macero, and the unincorporated county pockets are all within our standard service radius at no additional charge.

A word from Luis

Most Woodland families call me after the same moment — a stumble on the original fir treads of a downtown Queen Anne, a parent who stopped going upstairs after knee surgery in a Spring Lake two-story, a grown son in Sacramento who drives the I-5 causeway every weekend to check on his mother. The staircase that worked fine for 30 years becomes the problem overnight.

My job is simple: drive to your house within 24 hours, laser-measure the stairs once, and leave you with a written quote honored for 30 days. No pressure, no upsells. CSLB-licensed under C-61/D-34, verify us at cslb.ca.gov. En español si lo prefiere.
